I have had this deck for many years. My card stock is horribly thin as well. I did not have the cuts on the sides of the cards. The retailer should look after that for you. I hope that you were able to get that resolved. It is a production issue for sure. This deck is like no other in my opinion. I wish Brian Froud would come out with more. This is by far the top faery oracles out there. The guide book is amazing.

Hey! Yeah the cardstock really needs an update! The retailer is sending me a new copy, although I do think I would have preferred a refund since I have already trimmed the deck and bonded with it now :D
Anyway I do love the guidebook and look forward to getting to know these creatures a bit better!

Hi Sandi, Not sure if you are aware ... your channel is very bright and filled with so much white bright light that when looking at the cards .....it becomes extremely hard to see a lot of the time...I have experienced this also in the forest of Enchantment tarot series but having the book and card that i own in front of me has made it easier for me. I am not sure if your realise and i am not complaining at all as I love your channel too bits. Just wanting to share with you in case you're unaware. I also have no advise to share as I have no idea how to fix this for you. You may like it this way and if so... Rock on and thats awesome...I just really love watching your channel and not sure if you were aware. Terri from Australia

Hi! Oh dear, that doesn’t sound good at all. I will have to ask around and see if others experience the same problem. It looks completely fine on my screen. That is so odd! I only use natural lighting and if there is a big shadow or something I will also use a ringlight on the lowest setting… so I am not sure what is causing it.
I’m ever so sorry that it has been problematic for you to enjoy my videos! I will look into it!

Hi Sandi, you did a video on my favourite faeries ever ♥️🧚‍♂️🧚‍♀️ Brian Froud's art ( I have several of his books also) is the closest representation one can see of real fae IMO. His fae are not Barbie clones they are like people in their variety & with their flaws. I adore his work.
This deck was released in 2000 - feels like yesterday 😂 I use this deck when I want some blunt answers, they are good at that 😉
I hope you enjoy working with your new deck 👍💗

Hey! Oh you are so right! I love Brian's art! I really don't like Barbie clones in Tarot and Oracle decks, fae or otherwise :)
I have noticed they are very blunt and very cheeky! :D I really love the guidebook! I trimmed them yesterday to get rid of the damaged edges and now I love it even more! Thank you for watching and commenting Deb, I always really enjoy your comments!

Oh, also, the dostressing of the cards and the bending , rolling amd crumpling.in places also made the cards feel much, much thicker and more substantial. It looks and feels so much more real. I feel fake rips and fake distressing is just cheap. Especially when the rips and or distressing is the exact same way on every card/page

I believe the cardstock is different then the original which was also pretty thin but this is like tracing paper thin lol.
So beautiful. The deck and guide book are filled with such wisdom, information and are wonderful. :o]

That could be! With that said, now that I have had it for a while the cardstock has actually held up surprisingly well, I would definitely not have guessed that it would do so well, it is almost eerie haha :D with that said I did have to trim it due to the damages to the deck, so I kinda want to get another copy now that I know that I love it. Although I have bonded with this copy and I ended up getting it for free since it was damaged.

Nice video. I enjoy watching unboxings and first impressions. I do hope you will get a replacement or a refund!
The Fearies’ Oracle deck really is something else. Like everything else by Brian Froud. :) This was my entry into Oracles and Tarot, 20 years ago…. So this one is very special to me!
Do you know the Oracle decks by Wendy Andrew? I think you will like them, very gentle and with lovely animals. Her second one, Goddess Love Oracle is my favourite.
    Have a wonderful weekend!

      Hi Dandelion!
I contacted BD and they are sending me a replacement! I have already trimmed the first one but at least this way I will have a back-up or an extra deck to trade with.
I really do feel this deck is quite special. It has a very special energy!
I know of Wendy Andrew's oracles... I have them on my list, but I haven't gotten any of them yet. They are very pretty!
      Hope you are doing well!

I was also disappointed with the cardstock but in this deck the fairys themselves had a hand in the creation of it if you read the book introduction Jessica explains the vision the creator's had when the vision of it came into play there must be magic at work in the cards for them to make them feel like they're paper thin but very effective. But yes...for my taste the card stock would be better if they were to re create it.

Hi. I know this video is a year old, but i just now watched it. I cant help but say that i edged mine to match , and then distressed them. I took an edge distressor , or a knife or scissors or sandpaper, anythi g thatll grip the paper , and then i mucked it up with distress inks , layering a tea stain and a black, sootish color after roughing up all edges kf the cards i even crumpled some.corners and made them look actually old. Since yours are allready rough around the edges, haha, this would.be perfect for you to do!!! Also, lots of people have mentioned the thinness of the stock, but also say theyve held up for 10 years plus. I hope you dont trim them, and try this out there are a million distressing videos available. Nice video, love your voice i plan to subscribe and enjoy much more of your content!!!!

Hi! Aww your mod sounds really cool! I have definitely changed my mind on this cardstock in the year that has gone! I actually really like it. I recently trimmed this all the way down to just the artwork 😅 i did consider getting another copy before though but I am really enjoying the deck trimmed down. I might get a spare copy anyway though since I really love this deck!

The older decks published by Fireside have somewhat thicker stock, I’ve had mine for 24 years. The newer decks published by Atria are atrociously thin.

Thanks for the info! I wonder how difficult it would be to get a hold of one of those, they are probably waaay out of print by now.
I have however really bonded with my deck and the cardstock has held up really well. I have trimmed my deck and honestly, now I really love the feel of this cardstock. It is bendy and thin but honestly it is holding up a lot better than any thicker cardstock decks I have!

wait a minute Sandi....maybe it just the glossy decks that are doing this as i just went into another of your videos and the card stock was Mat and no worries at all.Sorry for jumping the gun...I just like to be honest to help others... So maybe it's only the glossy ..... Terri form Australia.
