    May I ask, after having a list of keywords, do you usually do broad, phrase or exact for all the keywords on the list?

  • @davemontore
    @davemontore 2 года назад +3

    Almost got me there! Great explanation, thank you. At the 13:07 part in your video, if you were to continue the lesson on optimization instead of going to PPC, what would come next? Would you filter by search volume? Cerebro IQ? How would you get to where you're printing off a list of keywords and handing it to a copywriter, saying: "make sure these make it into the listing"? You're my hero if you can get me clear on this!

    • @SumnerHobart
      @SumnerHobart  2 года назад +2

      Hi Dave! To hopefully clarify:
      1. Go to Cerebro
      2. Enter 5-10 competitors (the more the better)
      3. Filter the list by ranking competitors until you have around 1k left or maybe a little less
      4. Download keyword list
      5. Manually go through and remove any irrelevant keyword from the list starting with highest search volume
      Following these steps you should be left with the very best, most relevant, highest volume keywords for your listing that you can either use or hand over to a copywriter to weave throughout your listing.
      I hope this helps!

      @@SumnerHobart hey thanks for the clarification!
      This part: "remove any irrelevant keyword from the list starting with highest search volume" confuses me, though.
      Maybe this is where I'm unclear. I thought this was the process that was going to give me the relevant keywords.
      So the idea of going through this process and then manually removing irrelevant keywords - how do I determine what's irrelevant, and why would I start by removing words with high search volume?
      It seems like I'd want to remove everything but those with a high search volume, not start by removing those.
      Or did I read your comment wrong? Again, thanks for trying to help.

      @@davemontore My guess regarding the reason why we need to remove "irrelevant keywords with highest search volume" is because we don't want to retain an irrelevant keyword in our listing that has a high frequency of people searching. For instance, in the example given in the video, if a word like "black" accidentally crawled into the keyword list. If we optimize the listing and try to incorporate the word "black" into our listing, it may possibly harm our listing as there are many people searching "black" and enter our listing (cos of high search volume). But eventually, they will bounce off due to irrelevancy (high bounce rate). That situation is unwanted.

    Thank you sir
    So the focus areas are
    No of competitors
    Average pages
    And competitive scores
    But please can you break it down on the recommendation of the amounts of the no of competitors and what should a good competitive score start from?

    Hello Sumner, thank you for the video! I always love these types of in depth vids. If I recently launched my product, and I only rank for 6 in top 10 (SV of 6000 total) and 58 in top 50 (SV of 54000 total), would I include my ASIN as the first ASIN in Cerebro or do this tutorial without my asin (as if this was a kw research starting out)? Thanks again for the vid :)

    • @SumnerHobart
      @SumnerHobart  2 года назад +2

      Hi Jinwoo! Go ahead and add your top 10 competitors. Look at the 10th (i.e the competitor with the lowest number of reviews/ estimated sales volume) and compare that seller to your own listing. If you have greater keyword ranking overall and/ or greater reviews/ sales go ahead and enter your own ASIN into Cerebro otherwise focus on your top 10. I hope this helps!

    Good Job , Sumner. Just want to ask according to your concept with Filter Ranking Competitor : set smaller number like 3 to 4 is specially for finding keywords in listing and set higher number like 8 to 9 is for PPC campaigns (Highest search volume and most relevant) , correct ? Another question is for filter (Position Rank) if I put 1 to 10 , it also filter out top 10 seller's most relevant keywords rank in page 1, does it serve the same purpose as Ranking Competitor : set 8 to 9 ? Thanks.

      Hey Thomas and glad to hear! To answer your first question, yes. For the second I don't personally use the "position rank" filter for this process.

    Hi Sumner. I'm facing challenge in finding the product idea and what to sell on Amazon. I want to ask, how can you come up with an idea of white silicone ring in 01:18? thank you

      Hi Alfan! This is just an example but in terms of product & market research it's a lengthy process (too much to comment) but everything is covered in the first module here:
      www.udemy.com/course/how-to-sell-on-amazon-fba-course-for-beginners/?couponCode=BILLIE
      Ideally you want a product with:
      • Strong Google search volume
      • Strong Amazon search volume
      • Top-rated design based on primary research
      • Small & lightweight
      • High price point (pre-advertising margins of 45%)
      • ROI of 150%+
      I may make an in-depth RUclips video about this in the future.
