- Detailed instructions for tying Charlie Craven's Jujubee Midge.
Hook: Standard dry-fly hook (here a Dai-Riki 305), size 22-26.
Thread 1: 8/0 or 70 Denier, fluorescent white.
Body: 3 strands of Super Hair: two black, one white.
Thread 2: 8/0 or 70 Denier, black.
Wingcase/legs: White Sparkle Organza or Fluoro Fibre.
Thorax: Black tying thread.
Note: Try the pattern in other color combinations, such as black/red.

Nice fly. Not sure I can get my bifocals to work on a 22 though. Will have to try. Might need additional magnification. ;-)
Im gonna try it this weekend. Im gonna substitute buck tail hairs because i don't have super hair.
Whats the best way to fish this fly in a nymphing rig or as a emerger im dealing with spooky trout in flat calm water and there taking emerging midges I wonder of maybe I could take this and put it on a 6x leader and cast to dimpling trout
Not sure about your hook choice. Charlie ties it on a 2488 hook to provide better gap and hooking ability at this small size. Using a standard dry-fly hook, combined with the bulk of this particular tie, results in what appears to be very small hooking gap.
