thank you for giving us useful tips and inspiring folks to DIY as the preconstructed pillows are costly. I bought a decorative pillow shell with a zipper on it at a thrift store, then cut up a white t shirt same size as pillow shell, and sewed it same size as shell, and sewed a zipper into it. Then filled the inner t shirt pillow with hulls and voila.
Very good and interesting, I have had one for many years and just about to buy my next one so thought I'd read up on them again. I would never be without one, I have extremely long hair, I can sit on it, its very thick and hot around my head at nite. The buckwheat pillow or ' Bucky ' as I call him really keeps my head cool.
What is your opinion on bugs/dust mites in buckwheat pillows? I was ready some 1 star amazon reviews, talking about both of these things found in their pillow. Growing up my parents had buckwheat pillows and I never remember a bug issue, can't tell if those reviews are for real. Also, I'm thinking about just buying a case and ordering some organic hulls to make my own pillow. Is that a good idea? Can you recommend a pillowcase? Any thoughts?
Very informative. Right now I use feather pillows but it's frustrating because whenever I change the pillow cases the feathers fly everywhere. I figure buckwheat might be a good alternative.
Great info! My husband has had a buckwheat pillow for almost 20 years! Any thoughts on these new bamboo pillows, laundering and the foam pillows that are never supposed to lose shape? Do they need laundering or does that compromise the content?
I read somewhere that you should purchase 3d hulls not flat hulls which apparently are poor quality. Just something to keep in mind when purchasing your hulls.
I have made a neck roll that I want to fill with buck wheat. It measures 5" in diameter by 12" in length. Would you know how much I need to order to fill it? But not completely full.
Thank you, I'm a Dr. of Chiropractic for 35 years. Still enjoying practice and just heard about buckwheat pillows. Will supply my patients now with them .. Thanks again
I grew up in Asia sleeping on buckwheat pillows and have used them all my life. I now make my own using materials of the highest quality, including US grown organic buckwheat hulls. To view my pillow collection please visit my web www

I have used a buckwheat Hull pillow for over 25 years. I take it with me wherever I go, even on planes. They are FABULOUS!
Don't we need to adjust the neck roll shape all night if hulls keep moving if we keep moving?

Thanks for guide! I just purchased one online after doing a lot of research. I'm excited to try it out. Great work!
That's all well and good... but my question is... are they good for Pillow Fights?
even a pillow on the smaller side would be 3 n a half pounds, so yeah, good for pillow fights, might not get invited back tho
cool.. thanks for the video! i can't stand pillows anymore, synthetic or down, so buckwheat will for sure be my next pillow purchase
