It would seem that NPFL will not be swayed by sponsor funds. Im not a guy that is militant against ffs however I do not think it is good for the sport. The NPFL has taken a ethical approach with this decision. I can really respect this decision and the difficulty in making it. I do indeed think that this will be integral in the popularity of the NPFL tournament trail. Hats off to them for taking a brave stance.
Now We Have To See How All The Young Guys That Have Depend On Livescope Do Now To See If They Won With Using Livescope Or If They Really Have Good Fishing Skills It Is Going To Be Interesting
So many big names will leave the Elites and MLF join NPFL bassmasters and MFL will be left with young kids and livescopers and video game geeks nobody will watch them NPFL is the next big tournament organization its will pass both bassmaster and mfl well done NPFL the next Big thing
Was fixin to write a 10 paragraph response about how wrong you are and how you need to unlearn everything you think you know about seasonal movement etc and use FFS to relearn. Then I realized no one has ever heard of the NPFL.
More about attracting big names from MLF and BASS, than it is about FFS and the integrity of the sport. There may be some currently fishing NPFL that won't like it, but they can't just jump ship to the BPT, or BASS Elites, but the BPT and BASS Elites can jump ship to them, unless the NPFL has qualifying tournaments I'm not aware of. Smart move for the NPFL. It will be an interesting off season.
Using a relevant video game reference, the Minimap killed the single player video game experience by handholding the player, highlighting all the POIs on their HUD, which removes any sense of wonderment and exploration from the game. The line has to be drawn somewhere, and that somewhere is NOW. They keep jacking up the power on these FFS ducers, they're only going to get better until it literally just becomes a minimap. Imagine hunting with a minimap, that'd literally be poaching.
1:02am - John Torian - Thanks Randy. Congratulations to NPFL. Glad to see that a major tournament organization finally has the courage and foresight to do the right thing. The current forward facing sonar technology is a bridge too far. It may have its place, but not in professional bass fishing tournaments.
I see a league for those who do not like new technology. No electronics are allowed. No spot lock . No power poles. Just an anchor, a compass, a map, and some string with a lead weight to determine depth. Non electronic trolling motors . Oars are optional. 😂😏
The pros that fished a NPFL tournament, ALL raved about how well it was ran. Taking care of the fisherman, the lakes, the fish, the venues, and community. Lots of perks and well put together events.
Ok so I do like the ffs but I also believe in the basics of fishing knowledge. The NPFL can do this because they do not have any electronics sponsorships. Believe me if they had millions coming in from Hummingbird, Lowrance or Garmin this decision may have played out a little bit differently. Remember ffs does not allow you to catch the fish but it truly helps you with your time management. Just my opinion but hell an everyone has one of those to. Good luck NPFL and let’s see how long will plays its self out.
Congratulations Randy, you had a large hand in it. You are correct, it is a huge deal. It appeared as no resistance was forthcoming, but some has appeared. It was so wrong for it to it to go with no resistance, nothing should. Now, hopefully, it can be reviewed, possible consequences of it can be investigated, and any faults or shortcomings can be identified if present. Hopefully, in light of this, many more eyes will be taking a closer look, and an informed decision can be made, one that is investigated, information that is heard by all, an all will have their input.

Awesome - setting the ethical bar. Great work RB in advocating for this positive movement.
Then go fish it Randy
Forgive me if I am wrong but I tried to do some research on the NPFL to find out what major sponsors they have. I do not see any electronic companies such as (Lowrance, Garmin or Hummingbird) .
Wow... must feel pretty good Randy! Proud of you man..
ok, so there has been all of this talk. I need to see the walk. You need to join and lets see how you do.
Who the hell is the NPFL LOL.
Good question...Never heard of this league until today...lol
Now you can join your dream league!
Wonderful I will go back to watching NPFL . Thanks Randy for sharing this great news.
Was fixin to write a 10 paragraph response about how wrong you are and how you need to unlearn everything you think you know about seasonal movement etc and use FFS to relearn. Then I realized no one has ever heard of the NPFL.
Great news Randy, step by step. congrats.
Commercial fishing technology has no place in any type of sportfishing.
Ban it entirely!
NPFL for the win!

Thanks Randy.
So great! They are coming to Deland this month my family will be at weigh ins! Thank you NPFL!!!!!
Thx man
Loving the hat!!!🤠 this is the Bass Circuit you need to fish with 🤔 Support this group and forget about the Toyota Series 😬. Show them you mean what you preach😎👍👍 Thanks Randy!!!
I'm throwing all my support to NPFL! Love, love, love the decision.
Super news. Please keep the pressure up. Don’t give up the good fight
Terrible idea
I think not npfl just became the senior tour
You never hear anything about the NPFL. BASS and MLF will never ban it, too much money involved. The NPFL do not have electronic companies sponsor them so they do have that to worry about. Will be interested to see what the fallout will be.
