  • Growing and distributing healthy foods to community members experiencing food insecurity is just one part of how we take care of one another and work towards building a just local food system. Meeting immediate healthy food needs is the first step along a public health continuum of care. Providing access to sustainably-managed land, and the tools, resources, and education to grow food, particularly to those who have been marginalized and harmed by the conventional food system, ensures the long-term public health outcomes that constitute a just local food system. Come learn how to be a public health AND local food system practitioner.
