+Sherine Khatoun Thank you very much for your comment! Your kids can definitely learn - a little tip for them: the right rhythm is more important than the right notes ;) Good luck and enjoy!
Gracias por compartir estos ritmos de una manera tan alegre y espontánea, en los libros puede uno encontrar cómo tocarlos, pero tus vídeos transmiten su corazón y el gusto por por la música latina. Lo cual no tiene precio. Saludos desde México :)
Thanks so much! I'll try ... I have to say though I quite enjoy offline, live music situations and tend to prioritize that ... in any case, I really appreciate your message, thank you.
Great lesson! I’m starting a band with my kids and wanted to ask your recommendations on some easy salsa and chachachá songs, if it’s not too much to ask. Thank you!
This is a great video! One thing that is confusing to me is differentiating between cha-cha-cha and son or son montuno. At that tempo when playing the "salsa" montuno instead of the Oye Como Va pattern, they all sound the same. Can you explain the difference?
This is a great question/observation. The big difference is the percussion, there's a high-pitched bell and other specific rhythms that the percussion instruments play in Cha-cha-chá that are very articulated, whereas the percussion groove in a Son Montuno is more mellow and won't have the high cowbell. But yes it's true the piano tumbaos are pretty much the same.
Vanessa Rodrigues I had to play a cha cha, that i don't used to play... it was helpful ! Good tips :) Usually i play pop music or rock... Do you have a fb if i have another questions ? You can had me my name is Stéphane Delecourt :)
Thank you very much. On one hand, that's a genuinely positive sentiment and it's very nice of you to say so. On the other, it would be great if someday we could all just appreciate each other's work as fellow humans rather then letting things like gender get in the way ... that there wouldn't be a such thing as a male or female-dominated field, at least not in areas where gender has no actual bearing on the result, like music ... won't happen in our lifetime but we can dream, right ...
Vanessa Rodrigues yeah, I don't think gender has anything to do with a musician skills development: is the love, passion and desire to learn. Your video is first on the search results for salsa tutorial, you earned it, respect.
Hi there thanks for asking! I don't have a good setup right now and I'm in grad school but as soon as I'm done I will start making more videos and offering skype lessons.
Great video! I loved your playing, as well as your radiance. I'm hoping my kids could play some of these parts...thanks for sharing the tutorial.

Wow that's fantastic, family bands are so fun! Son de la Loma, Cuarto de Tula, and Oye como Va would be a good start. Enjoy!
Great.!

What beat she doing with the sticks?
The sticks are called Claves, and the rhythm is also called Clave, it's an essential part of many styles of Cuban of music.
do you have music notation for this ?
Hello and thank you for your comment, I'm working on it, as soon as it becomes available I will post in the description. Cheers :)
Gracias a usted :)
really nice, is nice to see a woman kickass in a male dominated field.

Hello
Cute
Do you give personal piano lessons? You should set up a program or something. It's nice to see smaller youtubers make good money ^~^
Hi there thanks for asking! I don't have a good setup right now and I'm in grad school but as soon as I'm done I will start making more videos and offering skype lessons.
Streklekstron ( means good)
In chachacha please
:)
looks difficult.
Give it a try, you might find that it's not as difficult as it looks :)
I think it should be played on piano in the same manner how it is played on congas or bangos. Cha cha cha bit
Wow what an attractive woman.
nice lesson... thanks :):):)
Thank you
