I like the message he’s saying, it shouldn’t be about winning gold and being famous, that’s a side thing, the point is doing what you love and enjoy.
I agree. Athletes should just stick to what they do the most and not be sidetracked by paparazzi or glamour because at the end of the day, they are human beings like the rest of us.

I think we, European, tend to create an image of American athletes like these over patriotic arrogant people that are impossible to stand, but this guy is really down to earth, he made me appreciate more the sport and even to support America in the finals. Great guy, good for him!

When i see athletes from US i cant rly cheer for them. Its not personal, i dont have problem with the individual. But US doesnt give a sh*t about the rest of the world. They dont even rly want to learn or know more about the rest of the world. They simply think they are the greatest in everything (even outside of the sport) and it wont rly change.
But this guy, Caeleb, i have never rly seen more sympathetic athelete before.

These Olympics really gave me a new appreciation for Caeleb Dressel. Before I thought he was this ice cold dude who was just in it for the sport and didn't really care about the rest, but seeing him reveal his mental state during these games and finally seeing him be contend with just a gold medal was so touching.
Damn, he is brilliant, smart, fast, humble, and kind! A role model for future athletes.
Caeleb is extremely humble, honest & wise beyond his years! The fact that he is also handsome, is icing on the cake:) HIs mindset is what makes him great and so deserving.
Props to his parents too for raising an outstanding young man.

Where we are in this world today especially n thank God we're alive healthy happy n if I have to I would be honored to wear a mask for the rest of my life, if it meant staying alive. Respect ppl who don't want the vaccine n respect it just staying aware of safety for others. I may not have a medal around my neck, but I would wear a mask for the rest of my life no questions asked! Like his humble grace. They're like 'so if we go back to Rio...' And he responds 'it would be... Better because no one knew my name...' That's honest and you don't get moments like that from a lot of American Olympic medalists. ❤ honesty and humility
He doesn't care about stardom and being a celebrity, he is just a normal guy who is also one of the best swimmers in the world. I hope his team doesn't push him into the Hollywood sh!t and make him end up frustrated and quitting sports.

They did that in other sports (liked synchronized diving). I think they had teammates present medals to each other due to COVID restrictions
@@tylerkochman1007 No it wasnt that he just threw his 100m freestyle gold medal to one of his teammates to hold for him. It just meant that he values his teammates a lot.

There were only 4 medals on the table, so he really gave Brooks Curry his relay gold, what a beautiful human!
No he got 5. The reason he gave brooks his medal is because the prelims relay swimmers get their medals at the end of the meet which is stupid they should all get the medals at the same time no matter if they swam in the final or prelims which is why Caeleb gave him his medal

What he describes there is what all successful enterprises look like… stress, lack of sleep, thinking about it constantly, not talking much to your family when you are about to deliver because your are just focused. So yeah, not everyone realizes that and when they do then they quit. Success is hard, but embrace the hardship, learn to live with it and it will get better.
