Thank you Steve. It’s about choosing a pot that matches or contrasts with the key feature of the tree. Whether it’s the texture or colour of the bark, or the foliage of the tree. Finding the pot I have in mind is usually the bigger problem 🤗
Thanks for sharing your beautiful collection 😍 Hopefully one day some my trees will be ready to be potted in such a beauty too… ❤️😘 Cheers 🙋♀️ Martina
It’s a real beauty. I was fortunate to meet Donna at the Doncaster Bonsai show and instantly fell in love with that striking pot. It’s a real work of art.
Wow! The #6 Tom Butterworth is so perfectly matched to the tree! The pots you have curated are incredible, but your aesthetic is masterful down to every detail of color, composition, and form.
Thanks Jason. You have a great collection. Thanks for the inspiration. In the collections that I see the 'rule' about pot depth equaling trunk diameter seems more honored in the breech than the observance? Seems to me that it naturally works for trees with quite thick trunks, but there are many excellent bonsai with trunks that are not massively thick and look great in pots of greater depth than the trunk width. Lots of examples in your collect as well, I think? Roger.
Thanks Roger. As with a lot of these “rules”, I think they are more a matter of suggestion and common practice rather than rigid rules. Often we choose what instinctively feels right 🤗
@@TheBonsaiGarden Indeed, Jason. If bonsai was all truly rule based, we'd just hand everything over to some bots. The ability to have genuinely held, but different, opinions about which pot works best for a particular tree is at the core of our humanity. (Alarmingly, I've just noticed that there is "ai" in bonsai! 😱)

Incredible pot selection! I'm blown away by how you're able to match tree to pot so perfectly🙌😊

You are so welcome Ray 🙏
Your dragon pot is astoundingly good! Just fantastic as are your others. I loved your repaired pot as well. Thanks.
Thank you. That dragon pot was a lucky find.
Pot 10 reminds me of a Lunar landscape. You have some really exquisite pots and trees Jason.
Thank you Mick, yes it looks like lunar craters.
Just beautiful Jason. You have wonderful taste in potters. I really admire how you showcase your trees in these works of art!
Thank you Sue. A great tree deserves an equally great pot 👍
That was beautiful , Thank you Jason!-❤
Thank you Patricia 🙏
I will also add a link to your channel in the description. 👍
Collecting bonsai pots is an obsession all on its own...❤❤
It really is!
Yes - we can never have enough pots …
You have some fantastic pots Jason. A real treasure of a collection.
Thank you Christope, it’s a matter of building and collecting over a number of years.
@@TheBonsaiGarden I find I never have enough. I really need to start buying more.
I’m the opposite. I have pots for which I don’t have trees. Often it’s a case of buying simply for the beauty of the pot itself.
@@TheBonsaiGarden an excuse to buy more trees 😁
Some very nice pots on display in this episode :)
Thanks Xavier. I also still have lots of pots awaiting the right tree.
Lovely pots - I think my favorites are numbers nine and six.
👍😁

Ha ha. It is, after all, as much art as horticulture 🤔😁
Love your mud men playing the game...I have a similar one, but mine don't have as nice facial features
