Just watched one of the more contemporary trappers fry up a pair of them that barely fit in the pan. They can do 5 broods every 2 years. They gotta have big 'uns to keep up with the females!
What do you do with the meat? I'm asking because I live in the Dallas area and would love to help you do some of this in exchange for some of the meat.
Couple things. Those hogs walking straight into the enclosure on the first night seem very trusting. Most unlike any sounder I've seen at the edge of a trap. The young'uns, sure, but the adolescents and adults with the exception of the matriarch? Also (and this might have something to do with my lack of familiarity with that part of Texas), was that corn soured? Or are deer not plentiful up that way?
They are suppose to be shot on sight.....not transported ! But its all about the " money " More likely....hauled to another .as they call them.. " hunting ranch " which I feel should be illegal ! And probably is !
I have never gone hog hunting nor seen and actual wild boar before but I have watched hours worth of Hog videos and I can tell you catching Hogs ain't easy those bastards are smart!!!
@Brian Vinson: You're right about that. What this kind of hog trapping does is train the smarter hogs to avoid traps and makes the wild hog population that much more difficult to eradicate. In a few years, the population has become more numerous than when this video was made, and smarter and more cautious. Yes, it _used_ to be easy to lure _some_ hogs into traps, 6 years ago when this was made. Nowadays (Feb 2019) you won't see that many wild hogs willing to venture in, except for young ones. This method of catching hogs without eradicating the entire group is a lot like using antibiotics all wrong. You get a trap-resistant generation of hog.
Is there any economic value to the hogs? If they could be turned into something of value, they would be wild dollar signs running around. I think you would see less of them, if this was the case. Just a thought!
In Jamaica, they soak bread in rum & catch them when they get drunk & put them in pens & put vinegar in the water . this helps to clean out internal parasites becauseyou can get sick from wild bush meat.
The door on the trap has too much of a gap. In comparison of this trap to the boar buster it wouldn't be as effective as the boar buster. However the concept is good.
I see these videos for the frenzied running once the door closes
I’m learning a lot from these videos. Hogs are a lot smarter than I thought.
Yes they are. Amazing survival skills. Females are the alpha.
Which doesn't mean their smart at all .
Imagine, thousands of years ago our ancestors had to use a bow silently to get one hog.
Technology has come a long way
These vids of tasty delicious pigs always make me hungry.
Extremely fantastic 👏🏼👌🏾🙌🏾
Good job!
3:06 Holy crap! Look at the cahonies on that boar!

Looks.like it took over 2 weeks from the time they put out the feed to the time they got hogs to come in and eat?
You can tracking those HOGS everywhere you go ?

You ever sell your hogs, we need a few every day for our cook outs...
what a great catch of boar
The thought of catching all that meat makes me salivate.
that's disgusting
I wonder if it’s a viable business to just set these up in a region and sell the meat?
Red Judas
satkm
That meat is full of bacteria never fucking eat that.
@@deadg5944 That's why you cook it first? Do you think that a farmed hog is bacteria free? lol...
I think the hogs were listening to the cool music playing in the video, when the came into the trap! Lol!!!
Hogs breed really fast. You gotta get them all.
Even if you depopulate locally even harder to keep more from coming in.
This is so cool
Once you trap them what do you do with ? Sold for food or just killed and buried?
I have to buy one !!
Very Cool Video of a K-36 at the start at this Video.
If use use Purina Hog Trap Chow, your catches will have nice shiny coats & strong white tusks.
That music director must b put in the fence with the hogs
Music is in the styling of Stevie Wonder's "Higher Ground". Hog Heads!

MUNIR
Don't put the bait next to the gate. Lay the bait on the opposite side and leave a trail from the gate to the bait. Gets them all further in.
Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that out.
@@davidjames1684 Yeah, but 'Cletus' has got a problem with that...
Some huge hazels on some of them Hogs !!!
At first I thought those were sows with wicked hemorrhoids.
Do wild hogs taste better ,worse ,or the same as regular home raised hogs?
Martin Flores They taste different, worse or better depends on your tastes and what the animals have been eating
gamey catch the small ones and feed them grain and corn to fatten them up. Sweetens the meat then on the grill

It's haram to begin with... aloha snack bar!....
What do you do with the meat? I'm asking because I live in the Dallas area and would love to help you do some of this in exchange for some of the meat.

Those hogs will become foods for big cats in the zoo

@@hairymanonetwo You are so clueless and full of crap. Stop spreading lies, fool.
What do you do with all those hogs
What do you do with them after you catch them?
They're released onto Happy Hog Farms, inc. Where they live out the remainder of their lives in contentment.
I have never gone hog hunting nor seen and actual wild boar before but I have watched hours worth of Hog videos and I can tell you catching Hogs ain't easy those bastards are smart!!!

Ya, that was helpful, showing us which button to press when closing. the only problem is that you were little far, couldn't see.
within 5 to 10 seconds? someone failed math class
Suddenly that corn doesn't taste so good!
It's like a pot roast
these hogs are much more cleaner than those in the farms
Is there any economic value to the hogs? If they could be turned into something of value, they would be wild dollar signs running around. I think you would see less of them, if this was the case. Just a thought!
They can become food of course. Some land even permit hunting sports for them. So there are values
In ga wr have a twelve month hog hunting season I been hunting and eating them for decades great grandpa
welcome to hotel California
Never take off the top section. Hogs can jump and climb over a short fence.
Can someone tell me what's that barrel standing in the middle for?
Drops food
Cool trap. God, I hate wild pigs so much. And the music in this video was funny and cool. :)

I thought so too. Look closer.
The key? Soak the corn in grain alcohol.
I wonder whether all that pork could be consumed in time.
What do they do with em after they trap em?
Larry Clem kill.
They’re an invasive and destructive species that multiply quick
They blow their feckin heads off and then roast them
Very ingenious !!
