Got enlightened on the aspects of IFS. Thank you DR Shashi. Nagaland loves you..!
Sry sir but there are some who are willing to choose IFS above IAS and IPS and I am among them . According to me most interesting Job profile if of IFS officer he gets to represent the India on world stage , he/she can bring two nations closer . And last but most important job is to coordinate with in intelligence agencies like RAW , MI and IB and be a part of the warriors who works behind the scenes.
Yes that's correct, foreign service is a gem & at my highest priority as well.
I am also an ifs aspirant
I totally agree with you 👍
Agreed
Rightly pointed the aspects why foreign service is not as popular as IAS
he answered it that once upon a time this service was very popular but due to advancement of tech now everyone is able to visit a foreign country and work which was one of the biggest perk of this service hence its not that popular now( this just one reason there are other reasons too)
As IAS is father of all services biggest post of ias is cabinet secretaries and he controls all other secretary even foreign secretary
Its like sir just read my mind. Im an aspiring Foreign Servant and when i look at the way of exam conducted its very inaccurate, there should be different exams conducted for MEA. Its sad to know that people arent much enthusiastic about it, they just take it cus there are no options left. I just hope that The Universe Will be with me in this journey of upsc.
Am being fan of his fluent English speaking ❤️
My first preference is foreign services
@connor your first preference should be ufc
Me too
Mine too
mine too
I Wanna be an IFS OFFICER!
I still can't understand, why IFS is understaffed? Is it an issue of budget or a facet of foreign policy?
It is because the aspirants are not choosing it , upsc can't go down in the rankings much to fill the staffs
EVERY YEAR 35-40 PEOPLE.THATS THE POLICY NOW. STILL LAST YEAR GENERAL LAST RANK WAS 102
i mostly agree with Dr. tharoor just the point where NRI's to be considered for the IFS is not such a great idea coz to know a country well one needs to have a first hand experience there , anyone living outside looking at the country knows merely 20% of what a indian knows , so when it comes to represent india a home gworn indian is needed , the cadre strength definitely needs to be substantially increased
Sir you are the chairman for the parliamentary standing commitee on external affairs. Please make an IFS exam. UPSC CSE asks more questions about wildlife than international relations. I know that knowledge of wildlife is important but why isn't IR made a priority for IFS officers?
Exactly. IFS exam should be conducted individually. Cos it's so difficult from other civil services.
IFS exam should focus on IR and foreign countries more.
I might be wrong but in my opinion all this is taught in Foreign Service Institute during the training period.
It's necessary to know about every aspect of our country, India, which is well covered in UPSC Syllabus and during the process of being aware of the happening in the country by covering the dynamic portion of the syllabus.
Exactly.
Having already given the UPSC ,& having chosen IFS as my first choice, funked the mains ,Didn't attempt it again, But went for a M.A in English literature and French language. Read Dr. Shashi Tharoor non- fiction novel" Pax Indica " a week ago. Great knowledge about the various historical events of the world. 🗺
What are u doing now, ma'am?
@@GREAT-INDIAN-TRAVELLER After reading Dr. Shashi Tharoor I read a number of books again that I already had in my collection like Dr.Ghosh 's " Sea of Poppies " and my sister sent me the other two novels of Ibis trilogy. I also reread Dr. Guha three non- fiction books in my collection and then reread with greater sensitivity and attention Dr.Khaled Hosseini novel, " And the mountains echoed " I had in my collection. In new year my brother shipped me a kindle in which were ebooks on environment issues. But now presently reading Sir Stephen Fry 's first novel " liar" which is hilarious and funny. I am a great admirer of P.G. Wodehouse, and have a whole collection of his unique novels. Based on which is the " Jeeves and Wooster " series. Actually I was a high school teacher of English language and social sciences. I like to be curious about authors and want ideas they have. Apart from that after reading a certain novel/ novels both fiction and non- fiction I see their interviews either on the Google, RUclips or on a American television channel called In depth C- span book TV which I recommend to you too. I have also read many books on India by British authors, So that's it , I hope your curiosity is satisfied.
@@anuradhainamdar8967 Wait what......... I have read almost all the novels you mentioned and my domain is kinda covers from military, science fiction to almost all the available categories. I read a lot like always, so much so that I need to get out of my room and the interview I'm watching cause one of the books of Mr Shashi '' battle of belongings ''.
Catcher is the rye will always be my all time fav. Currently I'm reading military and spiritual stuff you know
Bhagvad gita by Sri Sri param hansa yogananda, the same guru who wrote autobiography of a yogi plus many more.
But my question was which you missunderstood was what job you are currently doing, cause of the word '' Upsc'' you have used.
and yes ma' am I asked this out of curiosity nonetheless nice to meet you.
@@GREAT-INDIAN-TRAVELLER That's very interesting and appreciable, so our pursuits do meet, because I have inadvertently read on military science too ,such on a Quartet on first world war and some biographies on Fields Marshals of the second world war.........,but you will have to excuse on science fiction novels. In fact I found the movie E.T quite hilarious 😀😆,But couldn't say that of exploration of outer space were there is a need. Some planned exploration of stars such as Andromeda by NASA in conjunction with private partner, I disagree, and find hilarious too.
@@anuradhainamdar8967 see, ET released in the year 82 maybe that's why u didn't like it, you should watch or maybe read some other science fiction stuff it's good really good.
Oooh Ww2 I read a lot about it, currently I'm interested in 71 indo pak war, reading bout it.
U are not a fan of science fiction, that I can guess.
Ma'am why didn't u try for civil again I mean could have given one more shot, if don't feel so kindly ignore.
The present UPSC eXAM IS THE best one. But everybody like the grass on other side..Private sector people are worst like seen in ICCI MD and other scams.
The need of the hour is hiring more people through UPSC and train them well and they will all become like our Present Minister of MEA who is also an IFS officer.
one of the major aspect of a diplomat is to know the problems people go through in their homestate and then figure how the country where they are serving is dealing with it or has dealt with it in the past and implement to their state now tell how can a nri fulfill this role? First know what a diplomat does whats his job rather than just making stupid reforms of scrapping the upsc examination, dont forget upsc has given a lot of great diplomats to india
Ohhh How I wish him to be our Prime Minister 😭🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳
If only more of us had mindset like his 😣
Lmao the Gandhi family won’t let him to be
We don't have good diplomats because most Indians are homesick and care o my about HOME POSTING no matter what service they're in.
Absolutely 👍💯
Indian army hold my beer
It's easy to criticize them ...if u think they are not doing their job good....then why wouldn't you become IFS....
@@Ssc_aspirant.chandni Why don't you?
@@therealkevin8044 dude bcoz I'm preparing for this one 🙂🙂🙂
If he stands in the election he can easily surpass anyone else. Congress should take note of this.
The talk was held 5 years ago and holds true today as well. It's high time that the govt realises the importance of more IFS officers. India is a diverse country with a huge diaspora living in almost all countries across the world. They need representations. I believe professionals and PhD holders in "international policy" shall have lateral entry in MEA. And not just through UPSC
Though Gandhi family will never allow you to become president of Congress and that's how they miss the chance to win general election, but you are our prime minister.. best orator of our time. How I wish to see you as prime minister of my country.
I literally burst when he says US HAS 20,000
U speak so boldly sir..
INTERNATIONAL MINDED diplomats, yes. We definitely seem to lack that.
I wanted to be a diplomat and I’m trying hard to get into the foreign service ❤️💪🏻#IFS 🇮🇳
Hi i am aiming for IFS too
Can we connect on telegram?
So we can discuss topics 🥺
Same here will u ..?
This just explore every aspect of brilliance
That IFS officer who asked question is a ASMR machine
I’m aspiring to be a diplomat
I’m in 9th grade right now
@lavina khatri i agree
Go,Go I am in 12th grade and aspiring to become A dimploamt too.Im late and you're early
I hope u guys achieve your goals, never give up!!
@@Sillyparrot7 thanks bro.
Same to you.
Best wishes
@@drishik4532 I'm 12th too and I'm aspiring for diplomat
Correct Sir. You are at a platform from where you are at-least able to pass this idea. One needs to have clarity of thought and skill to break down a problem and access the solution. Unfortunately, there is no room to try anything new. Present govt. is more focused on tarnishing the image of the previous govt rather than doing something more concrete whose effects can be seen in longer run.
i really want to see dr. tharoor as PM
Don't worry Sir.
I'm coming.
Yes Sir, Very good points are highlighted all the points required for Group Discussion only.
OMG dr tharoor was the first who recommended literal entry in the service..
But govt should increase the seats..I stead govt is decreasing every year
. Our population is increasing and govt spending tax payers money on new parliament building
mr tharoor is someone congress should listen to before it's too late.
I love his English
Me too
Same thought for years, today after seeing your video I know I'm right
Why not make this man our PM.. I just don't get it.
Case chl rhe hai unpar islie
He's a proud servant of the Gandhi family. That's why
unfortunately that would never happen in a country like India.... we keep electing these same politicians and keep complaining about the system...
President tou bana dou pehele Congress ka, Rahul ko tou hata dou.
kyunki hamein PM chahiye English teacher nhi
i am an engineering student with a goal to become an IFS
Best of luck, may Allah bless you
@@mdsafdarmasood5086 GOD BLESS YOU. YOU HAVE SUCH A LOVING AND CARING HEART BROTHER! 😊❤
Fact Check: IFS cutoff in UPSC is only after IAS.
Well said sir, the answer to the question was v genuine....... Sir I admire you, and Ur works, let me tell you this.... I am preparing for UPSE, and I will be opting for IFS !!!!!!!!🔥🔥🔥 🇮🇳
Well said sir. 🙏🏼
Ifs can be great diplomats provided a larger number of recruitments and l
a longer training period. The fact that you are choosen among the bests in upsc ,so there is no need of separate exam. And Ifs are are mostly above Ips in rankings.Even u can see many ifs in top 100.
he was the foreign minister.. why he didnt take this reforms...
yeah, when he blames Modi government. he host exposing Congress too.
he got points.
bureaucrats are pigs. needs severe administrative reforms.
He can give suggestions, but final decision is to be taken by Central government
He was only a minister of state, that means he can only provide assistance and suggestions. He did not have any independent power.
he wasn't you dumbass
Yes,we Indian suffer from the proverbial red tape.
Absolutely correct sir
Beautiful In and out.❤️
So why does INC oppose the idea of lateral entry?
An educated politician
Can't believe India has such a low numbers of Ifs officers, its way less than USA. Our govt should focus on increasing that or else take diff exam. Better way is to invest here instead of creating useless projects and wasting billions of taxpayers money
Dear sir with due respect I am saying India is country that is driven by emotions that's to change the mentality of Indians ( excluding awear ones) you need to in between the youth.
except for the Nri point, I agree with all others
Agree with shashi tharoor...there is hell lot of talent in pvt sector...as compared to these so called trained officers Sad part is they chose these service for the sake of choosing..most of them they do.. here people like us...are struggling to make a career in international relations and foreign intelligence by mere hitting UPSC...😏 No lateral entry option at medium level...😏
Well , they should conduct separate exams for separate services and the MEA should allow deputation from other services into the IFS as a short term solution.
its ridiculous nri children should not give upsc exams.
Still in upsc 2019 allotment...last rank for ifs doesn't go beyond rank 150
Why didn't Dr.Shashi Tharoor become an IFS officer?
✨
Wish I speak like him
I cant do multiplication.
How about a new string theory , Mr. Einstein
Very well said sir
I think khan sir of KSG is asking that question
Our IFS officers are better than experts from other countries.
Bullshit
I don't support , his version of recruitment of in IFS. Upsc is best Exam Also interviews are well and toughest to crack. About Communication Skills, and ability to talk to foreigners and so on Here in India it's impossible For majority of people who can do it , because the question of talking Foreign Lanuguage is out of the box Here People don't know to talk to English. Also this Exam Enables A Chance to Change Life or a Person on a Common Level. No Discrimination. Purely on Exam Talent and Interviews. Other Things he / she Develope Further
@@061abdulqavi4 ifs learn other countries language during training period.
BUT A COMMON MAN WHO IS EDUCATED IN GOVT SCHOOLS IN HINDI/REGIONAL LANGUAGE MEDIUM WILL ALSO HAVE A DREAM TO GET INTO FOREIGN SERVICE.ITS NOT ONLY FOR KIDS FROM DOON OR WELHAMS
They will never crack it cuz of their inability
Agreed👍
🥺
damnnnnnnnnnnnnn
What happened?
Bhai o bolne wale ka nam kya hai audience me se
Your speech clearly tells us that u r frm another political party. 😅
Shashi Tharoor is a Shameless Harsh Criticizer of it's own Country.
