This kid is so poised at 12. Most 12-year-olds would've lost their nerve and botched the second song... But not Shaheen. He was calm and confident and sang his heart out!!! What a beautiful voice this adorable boy has... God bless!!!! :)
I always imagine if Michael Jackson (child or adult) went to one of those auditions what would the judges think.(Of course in a world where MJ wouldn't be famous)

acctualy i dont think he sang that song good, it might be a setup but he definetivly didnt sing the first song very good.
My guess, since Simon is a producer, he likely saw a video of him singing the second song in pre-audition videos, and thought he should sing it for a bigger reaction.
Matthew Hopkins I personally think he stopped him because he heard how great he could sing but realized that his vocal range was way better than what that song could show. Yeah, he sounded great, but be honest, he sounded amazing when he sang who's loving you because you could hear how much control he had and the how much vocal range he had in the song.

Simon is a person you love to hate. He can be pretty rough on contestants at times. Tact is not in his vocabulary. But this young man shows Simon up here. I love it. So happy for Shaheen. He blew everyone out of the water.

stupendously talented young boy. he deserves more than the gutter tripe exploitation of shows like this. he needs to do live gigs, get more tv experience, broaden his repertoire through experience, learn other musical skills if he wants to, get lots of help and education in understanding the music industry get recording deals and make a name that way. all our talented fellows need to do the same.

Although Shaheen sang this song very well, there is NO ONE IN THIS WORLD who CAN or EVER WILL out-sing Michael on this song! Just AIN'T gonna happen!! I only got a little goose-bumpy, but with Michael, there is goose-bumps from top to toes!! And I heard Michael when he originally did this song! Michael, however, had an excellent ear for talent, unquestionably!!!

This kid is great but comparing it to 11yo Michael Jackson, we can see that MJ had an insanely mature and warm voice that I never seen since at such a young age.
The substance of MJ interpretation at such a young age is one of the greatest displays I ever saw on stage.
To think about how humanity treated the most talented singer and performer that God sent us is inexcusable.

Me too! He looks like he's lip syncing and the camera strategically covers his mouth the whole time. Plus the Amy Winehouse song he was belting was not so well done.
I don't think he was faking. Just because his voice was raw doesn't mean it sounded just like Mj's voice. It had a different tone and he was being original with his runs. I really hope you are a musician because if not then you have no right to critique anything he was doing.
