I was on pins & needles wondering how in the world they were going to give me the pan flute. Very worth the listen -- love it when there's a good algorithm day.
Being a committed contrarian and an avowed hater of country music, I’ve always loved this tune. When Paula Frazer steps forward, she completely owns my heart and makes me feel somewhat twattish. Fucking country music
The band were driving back to the airport, and were stopped and fined by police which we were told by our very capable driver was standard form for vans and trucks. It seems an easy going video, but if the back seat volume was up, it is like an episode of Poirot. That is the back story Roy. I'm afraid we don't jam SuB, but thats very good of you.
@@thanxx because you didn't have the album? Never ever heard it played anywhere but it lingers always in my memory, largely for the syrupy lovely female vocals. Great album.
I've been a fan of Cornershop since 1997. This song hits home because I lost my stepdad and my dad both this year. This song reminds me of both of them both.
I love this song now and I am only 32 years of age, I said to myself I don't think I'll never listen to this great hit every day, but it now motivates me for the day, good job cornershop band
this is one of my favourite songs... ridiculous i've only just discovered this video version. I saw Cornershop in Sala Caracol about 20 odd years ago when I lived in Madrid... my mate Bruce and I went... Paula Frazer is such a great singer... Tarnation first album will blow yer head off.....
When I was Born for the 7th Time is the best Brit album of the 90s. I can't believe it is already 20 years old and it sounds as fresh as yesterday. Oh the textures. And it sold a miserable 200K copies in the whole world. Shame people.
Love this song. It's my favourite Coronership song, though I like most of them. Saw them in Seattle supporting Oasis at Key arena a few years ago. Great Gig, was hooked immediately!
My amazing English teacher recommended me this album for the topic of my research paper. I think I’m in love. Everything about this album is so impressive. This is probaly my fav song so far-it makes me so happy to listen to and is totally an awesome road trip song. Anyways kinda sad none of my friends know about this . Definitely going to put them on
Just watching Ricki and the Flash and had to Shazam this track - cornorshop ??? Wow, impressed - quality music, why haven’t I heard this before?? Just googled and seems there’re still together #respectGreatMusic #brimFullOfAshs the memories!!!!
its always good to be on the road back home again. whether its an actual place you grew up or a place that makes you feel grounded. it can also be a state of mind .....like not being tied to a place but a feeling or idea. its good to be on the road back home to an idea. ...again. lol deep thoughts with jack handy.
I have looked that up so many times. Thank you for the reminder, she has a luscious tone. Now off to remind myself who she is, what else she's done etc
Just one of the best songs ever. ‘Make way for a lady….’ And pan pipes.
I was on pins & needles wondering how in the world they were going to give me the pan flute. Very worth the listen -- love it when there's a good algorithm day.
This is a GREAT band...vastly under appreciated, in my view.
Agreed. Check out his song with soko too
Couldn’t agree more. I think they were either a couple years ahead, or maybe a couple behind the last guys.
Dude can write a song…that’s what he does.
My favorite song from one of my favorite albums.
Being a committed contrarian and an avowed hater of country music, I’ve always loved this tune. When Paula Frazer steps forward, she completely owns my heart and makes me feel somewhat twattish. Fucking country music
Make way for a lady! That was class. Paula Frazer's voice!! Oh my word. Great tunage.

Great record. Had "Bring up Of Asha" forever, then found When I Was Born For the Seventh Time, used, I picked it up. Great songs all the way through.

I've been a fan of Cornershop since 1997. This song hits home because I lost my stepdad and my dad both this year. This song reminds me of both of them both.
I just read that this was written after the death of the singer's mother.

I would have thought more but this whole record is good. Too bad for all who don't own it.
Love this song. It's my favourite Coronership song, though I like most of them. Saw them in Seattle supporting Oasis at Key arena a few years ago. Great Gig, was hooked immediately!
Seen them live and been to seattle
A tremendously beautiful song. Smooth real life lyrics. The journey starts here.
The Power of LOVE in an awesome Song. Only Cornershop can do that.
Late to the party but I dig this band. Thanks for name-checking my hometown. That was a surprise.

Remember playing this with a new bird.. "Drinking is the devil" - yes that's right. Such a simple song, but communicating so much.
Chattanooga represent
now watching here in Singapore 10.25.2015
first time listening to them. i really like it. what else?
I fuckin love this, drinking is the devil
Great ! I Love it ! 🔥
Great great song :) Who is the Lady with the fine voice?
Paula Frazer
Thanks.
I always wondered who that was. thank you sir. ☺
I have looked that up so many times. Thank you for the reminder, she has a luscious tone. Now off to remind myself who she is, what else she's done etc
A fantastic 1990's British band. So underrated. #britpop
One of my favorite drinkin songs
Nice duet,
Hell cool video there
This song is good enough to deserve more listeners. Radio missed out on playing this instead of a lot of the muck they did play.
Nice tune.
Just heard on 6music.
Wow, never heard it played anywhere. What show? Guy, Radmac, or Tom R I'd guess.
@@ddavies1967
Gideon Coe👌
under rated could have been next BIG jam band
That had a lot of feeling somehow
Exactly
Good tune good album, really like the women's voice, anyone know who she is?
Paula Fraser - she is amazing. A big part of the music scene in San Francisco.
@@megaspaceland ok, thanks.
Such a underrated song
Yeeeeeeeeesss
Make way for a lady!
for ive lost myself.........searching for what i aint....... :)
It has the flavor of a Fargo episode
Would love to know the backstory of this video...
And lo and behold, they replied 🙂
jesus n mary chain should cover this
It definitely works on a mixtape next to their duet with Hope Sandoval "Sometimes Always". That was an old 90s standby pairing of mine.
I've always thought those two songs are very similar, felt one may have influenced the other.
Brummie asian country & western, I love it :)
I’m not sure when I’ll be back home again
Sad but after watching so many police videos of people being pulled over in the US I anticipated the worst...
Glad I was wrong.
Why can't they play this when i call the cable company and they put me on hold?
💚💚💚💚💚🎯
River cottage brought me here.
“Some petty business in Tokyo town”
I`m thirsty!
make way for a lady
"Italy for the apples" can someone please explain that for me?
Apples are Italys largest crop.
Why would anyone leave Chattanooga? I won’t. ✌️
Seriously, cool tune. Love it.
There's more to this band than brimful!!!!?
Is this Emmylou Harris with Cornershop?
Paula Frazer
Beautyfull song and crap video.
Too bad about the bands comment about what really happened. I would have been very upset about this. Song is good, though.
Que miedo me da este videoclip, que se te baje la Guardia Civil del coche es peor que una pesadilla
