Thanks for watching!
This video is my mood booster. Same dream, same boat, same ocean.
really? fontaine pajeaut is your dream boat?
Gracious Lord!!!!!!! I've never seen such an expedition before! I am stunned and flabbergasted!!!
If that was my new boat and I was following it down the road, I'd definitely have a tingly sensation in my pants and a permanent grin on my face! And a bit of stress knowing it has to be moved off the trailer...I'd be a little worried until it was in the water and mast stepped. Hats off to the moving crew and crane operator.
Hats off to the tremendous skill of the truck driver.
Those guys definitely knew what they were doing. It was really cool to watch!
Randy Olan. I want to do this for a land Job
That was mad , phew how stressful were you guys , thanks for sharing
love that boat, doesn't matter how many times I see it happy sailing .best wishes
For a while, I had probably accounted for half of the views on this video. I love watching the delivery and remembering where we started.
Ok coolest trailer/ boat launch I've ever seen. Bet that was the longest most finger nail biting drive of your life. Seemed to be one smooth operation though :)
+graham toews It was pretty awesome/nerve wracking to watch! However, these guys are pros and I knew SH was in good hands.
Just found your channel from La Vagabonde and a few other sailing youtubers. Love your catamaran, I think you have my dream boat. Love your story and so I have gone back to watch all of your videos. By the way one the best names for a boat I have ever heard, great job!
Well, however you found us, we're glad you're enjoying the videos! :) We love the Helia and yes, we're rather proud of the name we came up with for ours!
Just found your channel, bravo. Can't wait to catch up.
Hi guys. I met you at Mystic Sands last week in Vava'u. Starting to watch all your episodes. It was great to meet you and may you have fair winds and calm seas out there!
Great video, guys! We will be following you here too.
My wife and I fly, now we're looking at boats, but we're not sailors. Really enjoy your videos. Very exciting.
+MachTwo57 So glad you're enjoying things. Definitely a slightly different view at sea level!
Very cool, this was super skillfully done and a great start to an amazing adventure.
Thanks for sharing. Keep traveling vlogging. Adventure is better when shared with friends!
WOW!!! Awesome, that must have been such a great and emotional time for you guys, congratulations. Can't wait for my family's turn (We're aiming for 2023).
Make room , jumping on board, great first video, the journey will be awesome
Heck of an operation to move it to water. Nice to see all that's involved.
+W4ABN It was exciting and nerve wracking all at the same time!
im gonna start watching this video.. i was subcribe ur channel today and gonna start where u guys begin... btw amazing Cats.. i love Catamaran..
I had wished I had seen MapleCookie being transported. Now I know I would have been ladling out my underpants the whole way!! Congratulations, guys!
Thanks Peter! It was quite nerve wracking, but we're very glad we were here to see it.
I just discovered your channel so I am catching up.
I was holding my breath the whole time!
+Mya Rose So were we!!
Congratulations --- proud parents! Nice song choice and when I launch mine, I will place a 'Baby on Board' placard on the truck! :)
Thanks! I was a little worried the "Baby on Board" sign may not translate well in France. :)
Bebe aboard
An amazing feat, just to get wet! Very nice!
We bought our boat in Germany and had it trucked 1000 km to La Rochelle. We were not worried at all, those truckers know exactly what they are doing, UK, Turkey, Finland or Portugal and all points in between.
Those guys were complete professionals and while we knew the boat was in good hands, it's still a bit nerve wracking watching her get tilted around like that! :)
I have a little advantage, I used to drive an articulated truck delivering 40' gas pipe to sites, so have confidence in pro truckers. I understand your feeling when your $ 500,000 ish investment doing gymnastics on a truck in rural France's small roads.
Cool video, you wouldn't want to be doing that to often. A very nervous time for all I would imagine
+buncemaster Once was definitely enough!
I am SO sad! This was one of the first videos that my husband showed me of a catamaran and for the past 5yrs - the song “sky full of stars” is my inspiration song for our cat journey. I haven’t watched the video lately and wanted to show someone the video with that song and you changed it! I’m guessing it was a copyright thing. That stinks! Anyway, we still follow you and are under contract for our Leopard 45 to close hopefully in March! Thanks for your inspiration!
I know!!! It was a sad day when RUclips decided to completely mute the original song. This was the best matched one I could find but it's definitely not as good. 😕
Congrats on the new boat and hope to see y'all out on the water somewhere!
That boat trailer does not play. Pretty amazing!
Do you by chance have the original mix with Sky Full of Stars? Real love that before the copyright thing?
Very impressive
Thank you s much for your insightful videos. My wife and I are just now exploring the possibilities of purchasing a Fountaine Pajot Sanoa 47. If I may, what led you to selecting the FP Helia 44
We actually wrote a blog post (way back at the beginning of things!) that laid out what was important for us in a boat. The Helia checked all those boxes! outchasingstars.com/2013/10/03/choosing-a-boat/
I would of put the Yacht factory closer to the water. Great Video
Not the trucking companies first rodeo. I have witnessed many large objects being moved, including the space shuttle and was very impressed on how they moved around on the small streets.
Yeah, they knew what they were doing! I think it was just us who were quite nervous!
That moment when you realize the transport alone of that boat did cost more then your whole catamaran XD
Curious as to why the truck was heading east on the N11 motorway, direction Niort & Surgeres, La Rochelle is the opposite direction.
We live East of Niort & keep our boat at La Rochelle, so use the N11 a lot. Thinking on, perhaps they have to take a rural route via Surgeres to avoid congesting the main road in.
You are exactly correct. Most of the route was on rural roads and they tried to avoid the main roads to limit congestion. We felt a bit bad when Starry Horizons was taking up pretty much the whole motorway, but it was a cool sight none the less!
I do hope you had a good time in my home port, they fed & treated you well ? We love it, down there most weeks.
For those that have never been there, the Captainerie (harbour master) office at Minimes you can get a good coffee for 50 cents & the view is free.
wow! looks great!! who is doing background music
aunt mary vb
It is a song by the band Coldplay called "A Sky Full of Stars". We felt it was appropriate given the name of the boat! Glad you enjoyed the video!
How much did that baby cost?
why didn't you go with a Lagoon?and what was the reason for picking Fountain Pajot.
We looked very closely at Lagoons. However, we wanted a mid-40s foot cat and we didn't like the flybridge helm offered on the 450. Lots of other people we know with those boats love the helm, but we wanted something that was connected to the cockpit.
That was the biggest reason we ruled out the Lagoon, and overall we just felt the Helia offered the best combination of performance and comfort. Hope that helps!
+Out Chasing Stars Did you look at the PDQ (Antares 44)
+Mazda rx7 We did look at the Antares 44, and were even fortunate enough to meet and be invited onboard "Field Trip"! The Antares are great boats, but they are quite pricey, and we actually liked the owners hull layout of the Helia better so that's what helped make our decision.
agreed , when PDQ changed over to Antares, the price went right through the roof
how did you wto young folks afford that boat?
As you can imagine, we get asked that question a lot! So we answered it at the beginning of this video:

Real estate must be expensive, closer to the water.
Omg you driving on the wrong side of road
demonetized.....:) stupid coldplay
