You and I have the same mentality when it comes to the garden. I say, I garden for my mind body and soul, harvesting is a bonus not measured simply in weight. Have a simply awesome weekend and happy gardening, Ali 🌞🥵🇨🇦 Ps Kerry and Dorie sent me over ♥️
@@myrustygarden thank you Ali, I couldn't agree more. Although it's upsetting when we put lots of effort in and the weather is poor, I know I'll carry on regardless. This year our harvests have been smaller and later than last, but I don't resent the time Ed and I put in as we get so much more out of our plot than just food. I hope things cool down a little for you soon, Canadian summers sound intense with the heat! Thanks for your support! 💚
I was totally absorbed in this video ❤ I love how sheltered your plot is and its woodland features. Clearing the stream looked like a mammoth task and so good of you to take on. Loved that once he started, Ed couldn't stop 😂 Thank you so much for your kind words in the description. I hope new viewers keep finding your channel - I think you're creating something very lovely and special here ❤
@@dogontheplot Kerry, thank you! ♥️ The stream was a big project, Ed treated it a bit like a game and it's very satisfying to see progress between sessions. Because of the challenges facing Birmingham City Council, our allotment secretary and the committee are tied up this year with paperwork trying to change the structure of governance to a cooperative model. The city council aren't doing what they have historically done to maintain the communal areas, and we enjoy the physical tasks anyway so it seemed like an easy way to take some of the load off the shoulders of the others who do so much for our site already but are a bit time stretched this year. I think there are a few other tasks we might do this autumn, including some work in the community orchard.
@@sanguinesoulful thank you! Many of them are self seeded from plants I grew last year, I really love the almost blue toned leaves, it's definitely a variety I'll grow year to year!
