    Hi Danica. Been here in the UK for 2 years now. True yan mag iisip ka talaga lalo ngayon mataas ang interest rate ng mortgages tapos mostly pa ng mga ka batch ko decided to go to US na din kaya mapapaisip ka talaga. What makes me stay here in the UK is yung environment, napaka chill lang ng life saka may mga friends na din. Tama ka, kapag masaya ka sa place kung saan ka nakatira ang hirap umalis kaya we'll see in the future kung ano ba talaga stay ba or lipat.. 😅😂

    hi Danica. NYC RN here. please keep in mind that it depends on which state you end up living in. CA has the highest paid RNs but the cost of living is high as well especially if you plan to buy a house. Right now, the rates are very high. In NYC, there's plenty of opportunities to get a high paying position as well as do per diem (bank in the UK) on the side which some RNs do, not just because they want to save money for leisure activities or putting money away but renting here is very high. And the crime rate's high as well in the city. I'm not trying to discourage you or anyone that's looking into moving to the US. It's a big move and everyone should do thorough research before making the jump. Goodluck!

      Lol wag fake news Ate kasi ang ibang USRN tulad din yan ng UKRN mahilig mag OT…. FACT
      USRN work balance? Lols… may annual paid leave ba kayo na 8 weeks to enjoy work-life balance? UKRN has 4 days off a week din naman ah?
      USRN need to save money talaga kasi may 30% co pay kayo sa healthcare ninyo pagnagkasakit kayo. Ayaw nyo nga gumamit ng ambulance kasi d nyo ma afford ang bayad sa ambulance. Mag save din para pang bayad ng tuition fee ng mga anak ninyo… these are FACTS…. Ang mga UKRN walang issue na ganito kaya panay travel lang cla and these are FACTS too…

      @@sundavrn6208regardless of where you are US or UK or any part of the world working OT is a choice. All I know is Pinoys are notorious for working OT. I disagree with your life work balance ethics. Having 8 weeks of paid leave do not give the life balance according to the true definition of it. Lemme give you an example of my life work balance. I get up at 5am I walk my dog do his business for 15 minutes and I go to the gym for an hour every day.
      By 8 am I’m in the road to work and by 4 pm I am home. Sometimes I am home before 4pm. My dog and I take 2 miles walk and during our walk I catch up with my family and friends on the phone. I then work on garden maintenance which is my hobby. Sit down with family for dinner engaging on current events. Go to bed after watching the late evening news and indulge a seven to eight hours of sleep. We always go on weekend trips 2 x a month and vacations every quarter. To me this is life work balance. I work for a top 10 Fortune 500 company with 5 paid Holidays, 4 floating holidays ; and 10 weeks PTO. I work for a manager that allows me to take time off anytime including the last half of December.
      Healthcare~ I was in a car accident once that required 911 transport to ER. I did not pay a penny otherwise we do not call an ambulance unless for emergency. All medical insurance covers ambulance under its benefit. Yes we pay 20 % cost sharing deductible and out of pocket cost but is 100% paid when met. This leveraged if you have or contribute on HSA. Our healthcare is convenient, it doesn’t take weeks or months to be seen by a doctor or specialist. Lab tests, MRIs, mammogram, dexascan, hearing screenings, colonoscopy, H&P to name a few are easily scheduled on the tip of my finger. Does your universal healthcare covers when you go abroad specifically the Philippines?
      Tuition- there are ways to get a full ride in college, you have to do your homework deligently. Mine had no loan at all and the other had a 10k loan. If college in UK is free that’s good news.
      The biggest life work balance to me is loving and taking pride of what I do that it becomes second nature.

    Hi Danica, I'm a third year student nurse in the UK. I should be graduating this month but I'm staying on an extra year doing an integrated masters. I want to leave to Canada within the next 5 years to nurse over there. Do you think it's worth doing the NCLEX now and getting it out the way whilst I'm already studying? Once you take the NCLEX does it have an expiration date or do you only take it once? Also, as we a only specialise in 1 area in the UK, and use different terms, is it worth studying now? Sorry for all the questions, but I don't know any UK nurse who has done this 🤦🏽‍♀️ thank you 💕

    • @ItsDanicaH
      @ItsDanicaH  Год назад +2

      Hi Faye! Yes, if you have plans on going to Canada, I'd say take the nclex as early as you can while everything is still fresh because it will just make it easier. That's probably one of my regrets 😅 I don't think there's an expiration but you do need to renew it as well. Also in terms of Nursing, I do understand what you mean. Are you doing Adult Nursing? I guess our curriculum is different because our Nursing in the Philippines is American based so we have Maternal and Child subjects which I'm not sure if you have here in the UK unless you're doing Paeds? But anyway, there are some terms which may be different and even the lab values but I don't think it makes a huge difference. I solely used Uworld to review for the exam if that helps. I plan to do a more detailed one about how I prepared for the exam. I hope this answered your questions 😊

    • @Faye.Louise22
      @Faye.Louise22 Год назад +1

      @@ItsDanicaH Thank you SO much for taking your time to reply so in depth ❤ This answer has hugely helped! I ordered the Kaplan book but if there are others, such as Uworld that are better, I'm willing to get those too! Yes you are absolutely correct, in the UK we only train in one field and I have done adult nursing for the last 3 years. I have chosen to stay an extra year and do an integrated masters so I can train as a mental health nurse too. So it's just children and mum and baby that I'll need to really learn off my own back. Yeah the terms have thrown me already so it's going to take some time I think so I agree that it's best to practice now and get it done as soon as I can. When you say it needs renewing, do you mean of have to take the test again or pay a fee again? Thank you again so so much for this help 🙏🏽💕
