    Very nice to see a smaller channel get such recognition. Respect to Jonathan, well done fellas.
    Fascinating insight into modern analysis technology etc. Which all goes well over my old head.
    I am not worried about this window, I believe Tim knows his job so what is there to worry about. I also think we have some good youth players on the cusp to strengthen the core group.
    I'm really quite excited for the next season.

    A striker signing will be the key challenge and signpost of a 'new regime'. It was one of the biggest criticisms of Moyes and it has been an area where we have struggled - not just getting a striker, but getting one that we know will settle in the UK. A good striker is no good if they are struggling to adapt and learn the language. They are notoriously more fragile when it comes to how confidence affects their form.
    But signing good strikers is genuinely hard. Waiting with anticipation...

      Yep, a proper goal scorer is exactly what we need! Also a natural left winger is one we are waiting to see come into the club too - Frankie

    23:43 - Same. But we need to make the most of what we have as well. 4 languages, Lopo speaks. You need to buy players now to empower that skillset. Throw in in a Wesley to the dressing room. Or a Banza. Someone who is going to add something to the group in terms of playing staff and it will empower the manager when the squad see he can comminate with all of them. People who genuinely benefit the 11.

    18:00: You have to work around what you have. Always. Resourcefulness. In my opinion, in a football club, resourcefulness comes from the people, to the tech.

    Couple more players, 3 Max. Attacking talent now for me. That genuinely impact the 11. LW and CF. Back up DM if possible. Players I would be willing to sell from this point on to finance it (Ings, Downes, to a lesser extent JWP, Aguerd, look to bring in cheap cover and trust Mavro, Kilman and Zouma to carry us through to potentially Jan or sign cheap cover) Cornet (Unless you can trust him as second left back) and that could well be it. I think having a fit Alvarez and a fit Souceck in front of a solid back 4, that should keep us from any drubbings, personally. And we have attacking talent to win games when everyone is fit, would benefit from a couple more. Also, Chalobah would be a good signing as he can play RB, CB and CDM. Thanks.

    LW and CF still needed. Get that done with two players who genuinely thrive and I'll rate it. I have fears the Guilherme signing has taken away from the money that could have been spent in those two positions. Aguerd also needs to be sold to validate the outlay on Kilman. So far, Kilman is a slight level above Aguerd, Guilherme looks difficult to find a position for in the starting 11 and Wes is Wes. I see a marginal improvement to the 11 at the moment having spent 60 odd million.

      Wesley would have been a better signing than Guilherme. That doesn't mean he's a better player, just better suited to our needs. Early business doesn't mean good business.

    21:17: The biggest problem with your data is the differing leagues.
    I'll give you a minuscule example, of a player I actually rate, who you done really well to identify.. Fofana. Though he's likely to compete well in the PL, he's likely not going to be top of a 80-90% percentile of ball carries anymore, given the change in quality of the league. Even the likes of Jonathon David, his scoring record would likely go down some level if transitioning to the PL. More harshly, Scamacca. However many goals he scored in Serie A the season he joined us, was never going to translate to the PL. Certainly not immediately and certainly not unless you were to severely change your style of play to suit him. There is a room for data in player recruitment, but everything has it's own context. The data you use, the best way to really get the most out of it, I would say is getting a better understanding of quality of league, and having that taken more into consideration. For example, I've heard you refer to Top 5 leagues. Does that mean players in the PL and Serie A are judged on the same parameters? Because in all reality, Serie A does not have as deep as talent pool as the PL, at all.
    You can't replace eyes test I don't think. and that's just me being real.

    Haven't watched yet, but can't agree with the title. Think league one wes is a bit crap, kilman we've overpaid for and god knows what if anything Guilherme will do

    • @BabblingIrons
      @BabblingIrons  15 дней назад

      I think it’s getting the balance right. There is lots to do; Kilman is a solid signing to improve our defence and it was Lopetegui’s top target. We’ve gone out and got him. Guilherme is an exciting talent and a deal that could turn out to be an incredible signing. It’s still early days! - Frankie

    • @damiandamico4715
      @damiandamico4715 15 дней назад

      I'm not sure the stratergy has been ideal at the moment either. I would have shoved my resources into a right-footed, left-winger and a CF. The only way this summer can be retrieved is by getting a good fee for Aguerd and possibly Downes, and hopefully, that gets enough money for the winger and CF. Two positions we can not cut corners on. I rate Kilman, but the reason he was identified was because of Aguerd and Moyes's falling out. If Aguerd isn't moved on, you are looking at an expensive sub. Wesley would have been a better signing than Guilherme. That doesn't mean he's a better player, just better suited to our needs. Early business doesn't mean good business.

      Emotive are going to be working with us personally on the channel. We will only create partnerships with brands we actually resonate with. They are genuinely helping us create a product for the channel that we can use.
