The info on Ohio is wrong. 6:42 Ohio is NOT a must notify state. SB 210 which went into effect in June 12 2022 changed the law. Ohio; you only have to notify IF AN OFICER asks. REF- codes.ohio.gov/ohio-revised-code/section-2923.12 "(1) If the person is stopped for a law enforcement purpose and is carrying a concealed handgun, before or at the time a law enforcement officer asks if the person is carrying a concealed handgun, knowingly fail to disclose that the person then is carrying a concealed handgun, provided that it is not a violation of this division if the person fails to disclose that fact to an officer during the stop and the person already has notified another officer of that fact during the same stop;"............

When the officer asks if you have any weapons, and you don’t have a gun, but you have a pocket knife? Is that a ‘weapon’? Is it covered by a concealed carry permit?

Great video with detailed instructions. Couple of questions:
      1) How does the calculus change if you're legally "open carrying", especially if the officer doesn't immediately notice? (e.g., holster obscured by seat belt, or holster is on driver's left side and can't be seen from officer's viewpoint)
      2) What if you're transporting a gun in your car, but it's NOT on your person (e.g., in glove box, trunk, center console, etc.) Is that still conceal-carry if you're not carrying it?

I had a cop ask to search my car and I told him no. He gave me the old "innocent people wouldn't mind" argument. I asked him if he was at the state fair and a random stranger came up to him and offered a free colonoscopy would he do it? He was like, "What?!? No. What's that got to do with anything?" I said, "Just like you don't want some random stranger sifting through your sh!t, I don't either." I got a warning and was sent on my way.

Back in 2005 as a Nurse Practitioner at 10:00 on a Thursday morning I ended up with the DEA in my office stating we noticed you have a concealed weapons permit, do you keep a gun in the office? "Yes". They asked where did I keep it , and I responded, second drawer down left hand side of the desk. They asked would you take it out for us please and hand it to us please. I looked up and c responded, "You're joking right?" No sir our warrant doesn't cover your firearm, so we're asking you to hand it to us (yes, this really happened). I said I'll move away from the desk and will give you permission to remove it from the desk but there is no way in hell I'm going to reach into my desk and pull out a loaded weapon with three federal agents in my office. They actually asked "what did I think was going to happen". I dont know for certain but I don't want to get shot. They looked at me surprised and said you actually think we would shoot ỳou? Where upon I stated I had zero trust or respect of any of them. They had all lied to me previously from the first day so why would it be a stretch to simply shoot me?

I totally agree with your assessment, especially with feds. Nothing against any LE agencies, but in today's environment it's a Major Concern imho. 😢 Why they even show up at your place of business is bizarre in itself. You really should ccw on your person as situations escalate extremely quick. Imho, I am pushing 70s n I have ccw for over 45 years. I routinely ccw Sig P938 or a 43X both one in the pipe n cocked with the safety engaged. Why? Almost every violent situation where the individual wants to commit their actions. Your first reaction will be subsequently pushing back with your weak arm goes out to create space. You only have a few seconds to turn n engage with your strong arm/hand. The 21 foot scenario repeats upon you as well.
A knife attack can happen within that 21 foot rule... You generally aren't trained to draw your weapon while racking a round, cock n click safety off n engage the threat at point blank range. At the very least. Consider a bra holster, neck holster, giving you immediate access to a weapon even a small fire arm. Tucked away on your person, unnoticed by everyone around you. Granted you only have 5 shots, n takes a calmed shooter up to 4 minutes to reload. But we aren't going to concentrate on that possibility. 1 or 2 shots are generally the typical gun fight. The human body doesn't do well with holes in itself...
NAA has such guns n ebay sells just about any type of holster you want. As do manyyy other company's. Some you have to rig with (heat gun tool).
I ccw NAA Black Widow in my sap pocket on jeans n have a Pug on neck holster if needed. Warm weather problem solved. The same would apply with a ccw gun on your person. All NAA come with 22lr n 22mag cylinders. I keep it 22mag a safe position between 2 rounds. It absolutely can not fire in such a position, regardless of hits or droppingnit ect... You'll have to cock it to shoot yes, its not a real game changer necessarily. But it gives you a fighting chance. As a health provider, you know patients that can become agitated n violent. Just my own thoughts. Any gun is better than no gun. 😢 I have had a few rides EMTs to hospital n most its NOT a big deal. Just let them know you ccw n where it's at. Most women EMTs ccw off duty n in rig, as things can happen. With that specific choice, I can't think of one LEO's that would have a problem with that. We ALL want to go home safe as well. 😊 Imho, every woman n elderly person should carry a 4ply midget sap or a 10 oz block jack n a high pitch pull alarm. With today's online dating, every woman puts themselves in to a dangerous situation if you are dumb enough to not safe guard your life. Saps n black jacks can kill if not used safely. Generally speaking, a good hit behind their ear will knock them out. YOU ONLY HAVE 1 or 2 hits, SO MAKE THEM COUNT. I hope this comment will help someone out there today. Dates should NEVER END UP in a Hotel Room imho.

Back in 2018 I was pulled over for not having a front plate on my car. All of my driving paperwork was good, I had a concealed carry liscense, and a loaded 9mm in the glovebox.
Per my state laws I immediately notified that I had a carry liscense and that there was a loaded 9mm in the glovebox. I made the decision to ask him if he would like to retrieve my registration from the glovebox, and he accepted and thanked me..... Then he asked permission to sit the pistol on the roof of my car (a common "police safety" action in my area), and I consented...
About 10min later, I was being ordered out of my car and handcuffed... The cop had taken my gun back to his car, called in the serial number, and decided it was stolen. After about 30min of being handcuffed and trying to explain that I had bought the pistol new at a local dealer 5 months earlier, a supervisor showed up and called in the SN again.... This stupid rookie had decided that my 9mm pistol was a .40cal Hipoint Carbine stolen in Texas when I was 5 years old. The stolen firearms database gives a flag to double check the SN if the SN is within one digit of a reported stolen gun. SN 12345 will get a recheck if SN 12349 is reported stolen

The one thing I will correct you on, in MANY STATES... not all...
In MANY States, The Police Officer is required to have Reasonable, Articulable Suspicion (RAS) of a Crime Being Committed, Having Been Committed, or Will Be Committed, by you, in order to request your Driver's License, and this INCLUDES while you are driving.
Cops cannot just pull you over to "check your papers." That goes against the very framework of the 4th Amendment.
So long as your vehicle is in good shape, all lights are working, and you have not committed any traffic violations like speeding, lane changing or turning without signal, etc... then the officer has no reason to request your identification, let alone pull you over.
    Cop:
"I've just never seen you around here before."
    Your Response Should Be:
"Is there a Law against that?"
    Cop:
"It's our policy to identify you when we pull you over."
    Your Response Should Be:
"Correct, but you have to have RAS. What is it that prompted you to pull me over?"
Cops can neither pull you over, arrest you, or write you a citation without RAS.
If at any time you feel like they are violating your Rights... ask for a supervisor.
If the supervisor is on the same bs... shut up. Invoke your 5th Amendment Rights... and wait to call your attorney. (If you're lucky, it's Hampton Law)

"innocent people have nothing to hide"
This is where I say it's especially important that the person exercises their constitutional rights and not give consent!

    • @thegrimharvest
      @thegrimharvest 3 месяца назад

That's a Kafka tier trap designed to get the unwary citizen to surrender their rights.
"Gee I'm innocent so I guess I don't have anything to hide. Sure, please violate my 4th amendment rights."
      Or
"I have something to hide, so guess I'm not innocent. Which means that the officer is correct in assuming my guilt. But if I pretend to be innocent and say I have nothing to hide and give up my 4th amendment rights, maybe this will go easier for me and he won't find me guilty."
When the real issue is that you can't know what the cop can't or won't be able to interpret as evidence of a crime or violation of a law. There's so many laws on the books that you're bound to be guilty of something somewhere, even if they have to squint their eyes to see it, magic picture style.
So the truth is that you can't be innocent under a system that empowers and conditions it's enforcement agents to suspect illegality and crime in every encounter, and grants them immunity from all but the most grievous of mistakes.
Innocent until proven guilty only applies to the court system, not to a cop. To a cop it's guilty and can I find enough to secure an arrest or justify a fine.
I say I'm neither guilty or innocent but that either way, I have plenty to hide and am not going to make it an easier for the cop or his investigation, especially when anything I say or do, or don't, and anything the cop sees or finds can and will all be used against me.
I will comply as minimally and as civilly as possible but will not go a step further, not when it can and will be used against me, and ignorance of the law will not exempt me from consequences while also shielding the cop at the same time.

You are not required to help or aid in an investigation. States that have a law requiring you to tell a officer in there official capacity that you have a concealed weapon permit have an unconstitutional law. Officer safety at the cost of surrendering one's rights is call tyranny. We the people need to stand together and fight this relentlessly in the higher courts and of course not on the side of the highway. It's not our right to stand against tyrannical laws from our corrupt tyrannical government. It's a duty and our responsibility. Security always has been and always will be the cry of tyrants. We were warned about this by the founders of this country and is exactly why we have the second amendment. Bleeding hearts are destroying our rights no longer taking nibbles at it. They are going after big chunks like a pack of hungry vicious wolf's. The bulk of citizens in this country no longer have an understanding of just how important every single right is and why. Every single word of the constitution has purpose. Giving up just one a little piece or word threatens all the others. They are designed to protect each other. If we don't start screaming that from our roof tops so loud that it rattles the rest educating and waking our neighbors out of the entertainment coma of lies and brainwashing all is lost if it's not already. Evil has indoctrinated our children into a hypnotic state while they have us looking at our phones for the next entertainment fix like it's an addictive drug. While they use it to spy and put the information into advanced computers giving them all the information they will ever need to destroy us, all our freedoms, the country and the world. How much longer our we not going to not care or listen to the vipers that call it all a conspiracy theory? I can tell you not much longer no matter if we act or not. We are no longer just bleeding from wounds. We are Hemorrhaging and dying from a thousand cuts from a silent attack while we passed out in a drunken stooper of lazy ignorance. Simply put.

To make a long story short, I had a man get irate with me because I didn't move fast enough at a traffic light to suit it so he promptly sped up and turned in front of my truck effectively blocking me in against a sidewalk and utility pole. He then jumped out of his van and started around it toward me. As I couldn't move my truck and couldn't get my driver's side door open, I reached into my purse and laid my .357 on the dash with my hand on it. When he saw the gun, HE called the cops! Needless to say, there we both sat when then cops showed up extremely quickly! He moved his van and I asked the officer if he wanted me to step out of my truck (I already had my license and my carry permit in my hand by this time). He said yes so, keeping both my hands in plain sight and my .357 still in plain sight on the dash, I exited my truck. He motioned me toward him so, keeping my hands out to my sides, I started toward him and when I was about 15 feet from him, he whipped out his trusty 9mm and pointed it straight at my head!!! A lady officer was asked to pat me down and handcuff me, which she did and then put me in the back of the first cop's police car! After sitting there for almost an HOUR, the first cop got in the front seat and his sergeant walked up to his window and told him that I hadn't done anything illegal and to let me go. Did this first moron do that? NO!! He kept me in the back of his car another 20 - 30 minutes trying to get other officers that walked up to his window to agree with him that there should be some reason that he could take me to jail!! Un-freaking-believable!! Thankfully, his sergeant came back around and asked him why I was still being detained and demanded that he let me go at which time HE came around and let me out and took off the handcuffs!! It gets even better (worse?), yet another cop walked up to hand me by gun (which they had obviously removed from the dash of my truck) and a baggie containing my ammo. This rocket scientist informed me that while I was free to go that I couldn't reload my gun until I was out of Nashville and Davidson county!!! I called every danged attorney in town and not a single one would take my case against the Nashville police department!!! I was pretty well convinced at that point that the cops could do anything darned thing they like and there's not a blessed thing we can do about it! OH!! It probably would have been even worse but (thankfully) the jerk in the van actually admitted to the cops that I didn't point my gun at him - only laid it on the dash and it turned out that he had an outstanding warrant so he's the one that ended up being arrested!!!

That being said... I really like it when someone hands me their DL along with their Concealed Carry Permit (OK still issues so you can carry in commy states) as I know that you are not a criminal, as to get that permit you passed a through background check. Nope, you are not required to tell me anything about guns unless I ask... which... I wont.
So.. if you are in Oklahoma.. and have a CC permit.. just keep it behind your license and hand it with you license IF you want to make the officer more at ease. That CC permit tells us "Im not a criminal" and we will look elsewhere.. Cops here could care less that you have guns... everyone here carries guns... if I im stopping a pickup truck... chances are theres long guns too. We dont care.
Now...if you are in a commy state where you have to freak out because a cop is stopping you for speeding and you are carrying......either follow this attorneys advice or better yet....move to a free state. Just please dont vote blue and screw my state up if you move here. We are free because we are red.

THAT shit pisses me off... Stop you, and before he gets out sees 4 people in car figiting around a lot, bending down etc... gets out and walks up to window, Intro and THEN asks everyone to step out... Sure THAT is "safety" for officer... were they hiding their joint.... or their gun... The very "concept" of WHY they were afforded "options" like this.... but they corrupt it and twist it to turn it into a shield to hide behind in order to do their bullshit... use it as a tool to advance agendas when the stop was not threatening enough for the last 10 minutes but all of a sudden, the person that he just literally turned his BACK to for the entire walk back to his car... is now a detremental threat to his "safety".... The SHERIFF of my county got pulled over by the city cops of the COUNTY SEAT of HIS county while he was SHERIFF... and they absolutely did not turn their backs to him... they walked back to their car BACKWARDS... they would not show their back to him.

Texas takes a different approach. Yes, you must have insurance AND the law requires you to provide proof at a traffic stop. To write a ticket for having no insurance, just because you can't prove it is "assumed guilty until proven innocent." So if you fail to show proof, the ticket is not for failure to have insurance. It's for failure to SHOW financial responsibility, because the law requires you to show it, not just have it. Same for driver's license. You can get a ticket for failure to show it, even though the cop knows you are licensed. I immediately pull over, turn on my interior light, roll window down, and place my hands on the wheel. He aproaches, asks me for my paper. I start getting papers together and inform him i have a CCW, and a firearm. He immediately pulls his firearm, presses it to my temple and starts screaming hes going to blow my brains out. I was pulled over a few years ago while carrying. The officer came to my window, I had both hands on the steering wheel. He told me why he pulled me over and asked for my paperwork. Before I moved my hands I told him that I was armed and that the weapon was loaded, in a holster at the 3 oclock position. I told him my wallet was in my back right pocket and my registration was in my glove box. Then I asked him what he would like me to do. First he thanked me for letting him know, then instructed me to get my wallet but do so slowly. From Ohio but have been living in Indiana with my wife since 2010. In 2016 my Grandmother past away so my wife, mother-n-law, and myself went back down (SE Ohio) home to take care of her funeral and estate because my grandfather had already passed in 2013. In her will I was supposed to get her 2014 Ford Escape. My wife and her mother took our vehicle back up home in Indiana and I had the Ford returning a couple days later. On my way back I was speeding about 5-7mph over when I suddenly saw an OSP Cruiser in the distance coming towards me in the opposite direction after I had come over a hill into a straight stretch so I knew they had tagged me at that point. I actually had already pulled over, turned my flashers on, rolled down the windows and shut the vehicle off within about 30sec of seeing the cruiser. The officer pulled up behind me with their lights on per standard procedure. Took a short moment to run the plates then approached my vehicle on the passenger side. I had my hands on the steering wheel and she said "well I guess you know why I'm pulling you over then?" to which I replied "Yeah, I think I might know but you can clarify if you'd like to be sure.", so she laughed. I then said "Mis, my name is ***** and I know that my name isn't registered to this vehicle. It is registered to ******, my grandmother. I have my DL here but I will need to get the registration out of the glove box and before I do I want to inform you that I do have an Indiana CCW and I do have a sidearm on my right side, how would you like to proceed?"' She replied "Well, if you leave yours where it is I'll do the same." I gave her the paperwork. she went back to the cruiser to verify everything before returning with it. She then said "Well, considering you pulled over before I even technically stopped you, I'm just going to write you a warning. Obviously slow it down, get everything switched over into your name, and I am sorry for your loss as well."
While I had actually worked as a dispatcher/corrections at a local Police Dept. in a different County for 2.5 years before moving to Indiana, I did not know the officer, nor did I say anything about my previous employment until the actual traffic stop was concluded when I then asked her if she knew certain officers I had worked with.
The key to dealing with a Police Officer is the same as dealing with anyone. Be polite, respectful, and courteous until said person doesn't show you the same. As a society these days, we humans, often provoke negative actions of others because we're a little to full of ourselves and forget that the other person has the same "rights and freedoms" as we do. As far as I'm concerned, you can do whatever the hell you want as long as it doesn't negatively affect other's rights and freedoms.

Illinois Resident CCL holder here. I’ve been pulled over 4-5 times since I’ve started carrying.
First time McHenry County: I informed the officer without them asking. “You don’t reach for yours and I won’t reach for mine.”
2nd time speeding ticket Cook County : Of course his hand went right to resting on his handgun.
The officer asked me to hand him my firearm for “officer safety” until the traffic stop was over. Responded saying “Officer for both your safety and mine, I’d feel much more comfortable if you removed my firearm. Told em where it was, he reached for its cleared it and put it in my trunk.
I was annoyed. but just went with it to avoid escalation. He was already pretty nervous when I informed him.
I usually just hand them my DL and CCL and let them lead the interaction.
Not only does every state differ in how they handle, concealed carry holders during traffic stops, etc.
Every town, county, and City may handle things differently.
One set I’ve tried to hone since starting to carry every day…
Reading people and paying attention to the tone in their voice, asking with their movements, while interacting with them.

The other tip I would add in addition to putting hands on the wheel is to roll down the driver side window and then turn off the engine. Do these immediate when coming to a stop on the shoulder. A running engine brings the possibility of the person taking off, I've seen a lot of police chase videos that start this way and the officers are aware of it. Runners almost NEVER escape the police and eventually they will use the PIT maneuver causing you to spin out and crash. Turning off the engine signals that you plan to comply and not run - that should take "the temperature" of the encounter down. I agree with the video about trying to talk your way out of things - its pointless and will annoy the officer. They are either going to let you off with a warning or write a ticket and that outcome has probably been decided before you're pulled over. They are going to do what they want to do. You can fight in court or pay the fine. On the other hand, if you are super cooperative, respectful, the LEO is in a good mood and likes you, you MIGHT just get off with a warning. Its happened twice to me over the years - getting warnings when I was sure I'd get a ticket.

Both times I sat and waited for them to approach, intentionally not retrieving paperwork nor my license. When the officer engaged me I told them I have a firearm. Both times they asked where and I told them 3 o'clock on my hip. One asked if it was loaded? I laughed and said yes they don't work otherwise. I asked permission to retrieve paperwork and my license. Neither asked to hold my gun nor keep until the stop was over. Just told me to leave it where it is. Anyone I can see can see me (only the resolution is different.) Anyone I can't see can't see me. since I started carrying a weapon, I've noticed that I've become much more conservative with my driving and other things. i drive slower, more defensive, more courteous. I’m not really sure why you have a safe in the vehicle that you sometimes put your firearm in though. I don’t really see the purpose in that.
As for being afraid of law enforcement or new officers etc….., the chances of you being shot if you follow lawful commands is zero. The only way you could possibly be shot is if you want to fight, argue, and be aggressive towards the officers. I work in a state that you can pretty well assume 99% of people are carrying a gun. A lawful and respectful gun owner never makes me nervous. I’ve also worked in a very heavy crime department and it was the same way, if someone told me they were armed as soon as I approached the vehicle, zero problems.
The simple fact is, the person being contacted by law enforcement 100% dictates how that interaction goes! Even if you think the reason you were pulled over was complete bs, be respectful, follow the officers commands, and then fight it on your given court date.

In Florida, some LEO's use tricky wording to make it sound like it is legal for them to remove your legally carried firearm (with ccw). They'll ask things like "For officer safety protocol, do you mind if I remove your firearm?". All I hear is "can I remove your firearm?". It happened once and I responded with "The safest place for my firearm is to remain in it's holstered position, which is where I prefer to keep it". He just said "uhhh, ok". I have seen too many videos of officers putzing around with a firearm they are not familiar with, then clearing it, empty the mag and field strip the firearm and placing it somewhere away from the driver, like the trunk or back seat area, in a pile of parts. One video I saw, the deputy even told the driver after he disassembled his firearm and placed the pile in the passenger seat to stand behind his vehicle and do not approach until he drives away. Most LEO's are way behind in their training for concealed carry encounters. I work with a bunch of LEO's and the one misconception is that all LEO's must be firearm experts. That is the furthest thing from the truth. There are some, but the vast majority are not and can barely pass annual quals.
Can you make a video discussing the legalities of a LEO removing your firearm during a traffic stop. Or if you could answer that here that would be fine too.
    Thanks for your content.

This allows the officer to better see you and see that you are sitting calmly with your hands on the wheel. When they ask for your license and registration, say "Sure. My wallet is ____. May I reach for it?" In my state they always ask, "Do you have any firearms in the car?" I answer honestly and am usually told, "Ok, just get your license out." I've never had a problem doing this.

Exactly, that iis what was recommended in my CCW class back in '99. I've never had a problem with that approach. (but then, I've not even had a ticket since 2015.

As an ex Sheriff's Deputy myself, I would add that day or night you should roll all vehicle windows down, important to do it BEFORE officer exits his vehicle to approach. This is to facilitate their full view into your vehicle. If you wait to do this as officer is walking up to your vehicle he may think your just trying to "clear your fields of fire", and that would not be good.

I'm in Virginia, "notify when asked." I'm told that they already can see that I'm a CCP holder when they run my license. I frequently do not carry in my car due to some of the places I visit. I have no obligation to inform if I'm unarmed. But WHEN he asks about weapons because he sees my CCP on file, now what? It seems harmless to answer, "Officer, I am not carrying any weapons." Does he have reasonable suspicion that I'm carrying or transporting weapons if I have a CCP? From there, if he presses the issues, invoke the 5th and 4th? I've always wondered how that plays out, having a permit but not carrying. Thanks!

According to our deputy, you are under a custodial arrest when the lights come on. Sovereign or not, you should pull over when prompted. You have a Constitutionally protected Right to not answer ANY questions or provide ANY documentation that could be used against you. 4th & 5th Amendments. When under arrest, the DL contract does not trump the Constitution. Do not answer questions and do not consent to any searches.
Roll all your windows up except the window the officer approaches but only leave it down an inch or two. There is a good reason for this. Lock all doors.
Politely notify the officer that you do not answer questions, you do not consent to any searches and you are invoking your 4th and 5th amendment protections. If you are asked out of the vehicle, do your best to lock the car behind you. Keep hands visible at all times and follow officer's instructions
The concealed carry information appears on the cops computer before he/she even initiated the stop so don't volunteer the info even if asked.
As far as getting arrested in certain states over notifying the officer, you can later challenge the constitutionality of it. Be polite but clearly assert your rights. Shut up and remain quiet.

I have had a situation where I needed to get to my stop before stopping for the officer..
When you see the lights behind you, immediately call the dispatch of the local area... Inform them of your name and location and let them know there's an officer behind you. Of course, ask him if it's a legitimate officer behind you, once confirmed, let them know that you have an emergency and need to get to your destination.
For me, I had an IBM incident and needed to get to a bathroom. I informed them where I was going and requested leave to do so.
After everything was said and done everybody got a good laugh at it. The point is if your respectful with them they will be respectful to you. The problem is when you ignore them that's when they start getting pissed. And if they have to come get you, they're bringing an ass kicking with them.

I got pulled over in Arkansas one time almost to Memphis, I pull over in the police officer walks up to my window and he says do you know why I pulled you over? So I held up a bag of hostess donuts and said cuz you could smell it lol. He asked me do you want a ticket? To which I replied no, and then I educated him about Julio Iglesias AKA fluffy. And then he asked me again do you know why I pulled you over? I wasn't speeding. And I wasn't, and he said I pulled you over because your trailer tires were touching the solid white line. And so then I explained to him that the trailer axles were wider than the truck, and that if I was in the right lane I had to stay to the right just a little bit so nobody would get sideswiped or sideswiped me and, and if I was in the left lane I had to hug the left hand side a little bit to make sure that nobody could side swipe me on that side, and that I wouldn't accidentally sideswipe anybody else. Long story short, he understood why I did what I did and I did not get a ticket. And although it's okay to exercise all your amendments and constitutional stuff. Sometimes it's less hassle to just tell them what's going on. At least it's been that way for me. No I'm not saying through all your constitutional rights in the toilet, because they're yours. But if I had given him a hard time, I might have ended up with a ticket.

The trick to a traffic stop is make the officer feel comfortable. Speak to him in his native language. Say things like "Oink Oink" and Snort wildly. Try to get to know the officer on a personal level. Ask him if he beats his husband. Keep it simple and friendly.

Your signature on the ccw application means that you consent to the rules of the ccw, which in those states is to notify. Don’t follow the rules, at best you lose the ccw, at worst face fines and jail time.

  • @BEARSMIX
    @BEARSMIX 2 месяца назад

If you hold a CCW the officer knows before he gets to your window; the MDT will instantly alert him as soon as he enters your plates into his computer; if the car is not registered to you but a friend or relative that has a CCW he is going to expect you are armed. Not that more them half of the states have permit less carry and if you don't go get your permission from the gooberment to exercise your god given and constitutionally protected right he wont know until he asks; or you tell him in those states that require it. In NV if you are registered with the VA they will also be alerted by the MDT if you are a combat veteran and what your MOS was. All in the name of Officer Safety!
The black guy in the video has some great content out there; this traffic stop is on his youtube channel and it goes perfectly. He had several hand guns and long guns in the vehicle; I think the video was called "getting pulled over with a gun on my chest".
Careful some states will charge you with carrying with out having a CCW on you if you hand your CCW over; MA, MI & RI are states I've seen it happen more then once, while you have a firearm on your person.

Tn is one of the states where your permit is tied to your vehicle tag/s. To save time I just handed the officer my permit instead of my license because they're also tied to your license. The officer thanked me, asked what I was carrying & gave me a verbal warning instead of a written one.

I'm not a lawyer. I live in Texas, and have been pulled over by the DPS (State Troopers) at 3 AM in the middle of nowhere doing 85 in a 55 zone. The first thing I did was hit the flashers, pulled over, turned on the inside lights, and shut off the car. I put the key ring on my pinky finger and rolled the window down. I was polite, acknowledged that I was speeding. I got a warning and the Trooper said "Be careful, there's deer on the road, and you don't want to hit one." No stress, no guns being pulled, and we both left smiling after a meeting between two adults. Learn this lesson.

The only time I've ever "talked myself out" of a traffic ticket was late at night when I was a teenager. Apparently, I had veered over the mid-line a couple times and a cop behind saw it. It was late at night when I was driving back home after a football game. Told the officer I was just worn out and tired from the game, he saw I wasn't drunk, and he let me go on with a warning to keep it between the lines. In rare cases, just being honest and calm can make things easy.

What my experience has been is to make the officer feel as comfortable with you as possible. Let him see that you are not a threat to him....very important. Best advice is like the man in the video said is to keep your hands on the steering wheel. Both of them. I was pulled over and I do have a permit and I live in Indiana. I was speeding. I was doing 87 in a 55. As soon as I saw the cop coming towards me I found the first safe place to pull over and waited for him to turn around and pull up behind me. When he first walked up to the vehicle I said I want you to know that I will keep both of my hands on this steering wheel until you tell me different. I followed up with I have a 10-32, which is 10 code for weapon. I said I have a permit. I could tell he was more relaxed by me acting in this manner. He asked where my gun was and I said on my right hip. He asked for my driver's license and I told him that my wallet was in my right back pocket. Do you understand I have to remove my right hand from the steering wheel to retrieve it. He said yes, go ahead. I moved slowly and pulled out my wallet. I moved my right hand back to the steering wheel with wallet in hand. I removed my license and also started to remove my carry permit and he said he didn't need to see it. Showed him proof of insurance but my wife couldn't find a current registration in the glove box. He said don't worry about it. He went back to his vehicle and came back a couple minutes later and handed me my documents back. My hands had remained on the top of the steering wheel in plain view the whole time. He said slow it down and be safe and let me go. The moral of this story is to keep your hands on top of the steering wheel until you are ordered to retrieve something. Move slowly and keep a calm voice. I'm sure that he appreciated my mannerism and he could have laid it to me with wreckless driving. Which puts you on high risk insurance. So people put yourselves in the police officers shoes. Make him feel as though you are no threat at all. The last thing you want is a rookie to see a gun or think he sees one and starts fearing for his life.
    Just my 2 cents worth.

IN SC we just got constitutional carry. The law states a "CWP holder or a person carrying a firearm without a permit pursuant to this law DOES NOT have a duty to notify a law enforcement officer that they are carrying a firearm". That doesn't stop me from handing them both my DL and my CWP when pulled over. They usually ask "Do you have your weapon on you?" With me the answer is always yes. They then say "Well don't reach for yours and I won't reach for mine." Cops around here are used to armed citizens and they don't mind. I have never had a cop ask to see my gun. I did have a lengthy discussion with one about what brand I carry. He was a gun guy like me. Small town so we don't often have issues with officers being bullies and the ones who are aren't in the dept. for long.
