@@rejuvinatez347 it is currently 40vs40 max. They are however looking to increase that in future. The two big games within this genre are Post Scriptum and Hell Let Lose both are pretty good but they have different playstyles so its up to the player.
Fun fact, if i bike to school i have to cross that bridge lol.

I live in that area and the history around the event is still very much part of the landscape there. The city had to be almost completely rebuilt after the battle into modern, ugly 50s and 60s style buildings from beautiful 18th and 19th century brick buildings. There are reminders all throughout that area in the form of concrete bunkers along the river, dug in tank turrets, and memorials in every town. Fun fact- there is now a techno festival held every year within a stone's throw of the bridge. The history of that bridge and the British soldiers who defended it, even when they were told they were not going to be reinforced, is one of great pride and great pain.

Great video, I've been in here real life a couple of times and its sick to see how amazingly well they made it into the game. Not just that, the gameplay footage and the "rp" was quite amazing. Normally I don't really watch just gameplay but this was great! (except that part where everyone was preparing for the bridge and people said german things so horribly bad although it was funny.

My Great uncle fought in that battle dropped in on the 2nd day of the battle died on the 4th day he was Corporal Robert Noble in the 7th kings own scottish borderers was 24 ended up caught up in some heavy panzer fire was buried along with the many others who died never came home.

The battle on the bridge at 08:00 onwards with the Germans crossing and taking heavy casualties after their convoy was smashed, very exciting and well done !! Enjoyed it !!

The overarching event was to make it as close to the Battle for Arnhem as possible which is why there was a charge of vehicles and then infantry across the bridge as per the real battle!
It was very very fun you would never catch anyone in a public game doing that!

What a map! I read the book 'It never snows in September' and this game and map even makes it more real.
And i live in the center of Arnhem, so really interesting to see this map with the Euseibus church on the left...

I was stationed in Germany, and my platoon went to Holland for the Nijmegen road March 100 miles in 5 days. It was only open to infantry units and the countries involved the market garden mission. The whole time we marched people were always out cheering and they fed us and we drank a lot of beer. Lol...it's surprising we actually made it to the end. But definitely a proud moment. I got to walk across that bridge in uniform. History is always fun when you can partake in activities that represent it. I also was at Normandy for the 50th anniversary. A good friend of mine in the 82nd jumped into Normandy that same day from a c130. Ahhh to be young again. L

Admins of the server can use command console to spawn things in. There was also custom developer scripts during this event which I guess is what they used to place certain machine guns/items in specific locations.

Iam Dutch. The Germans also controlled the church tower. Trapping Frosts battalion where they were.
Other battalions were on different routes.
And met German resistance before reaching the bridge.

Interesting story, there's an interview with a Dutch SS volunteer of the Westland regiment which was part of the Wiking division who fought at Arnhem holding a bridge, and he mentions the other units he remembers fighting there: Landstorm Nederland, the Wasserschutzpolizei and the Wachbatallion, who were all Dutchmen. He mentions how he knew the battle was won when they saw the men of the Frundsberg division approach. It's interesting, because generally in the Netherlands we view ourselves as an allied country and we view operation market garden as a loss for our side, while it was Dutchmen who won. It's weird we see ourselves as an allied country though, because on the whole we were pretty fanatic national socialists and we supplied a whole lot of SS volunteers. It's something we're generally not too proud of though, and we lynched a lot of the male national socialists and raped/also lynched the female ones, which I personally think was the greater crime. Keep in mind this was done before any news of the concentration camps had reached the Netherlands.
There were also plenty of dutch resistance fighters destroying the infrastructure and assisting the allied war effort all across the country!

Some of those MG-42 in war had scopes. Do they have them in game?
There are no varients of the mg's that have scopes at the moment. Maybe and update in the future!
How long did it actually take to push the bridge?
In normal public matches it can take any length of time. I would say with a good coordinated team you can get across in 20-30 mins but its still incredibly difficult.
This was an event so it was cinematically setup for the most part hence the rushing across the bridge etc (wouldn't usually happen in that manner)

I hope in the future either Post Scriptum or Hell Let Loose make some early war maps. Like maybe battles 1940s’ in Belgium, France, Norway, Netherlands, Poland and so on.
Post Scriptum literally released 1940 Battle of France yesterday, with French faction and Early War German faction as well. It's super nice and there's a free weekend this weekend as well. Check it out!

Lack of spacing is why so many people got sparked over the bridge.
They had extra defences than normal on their side of the bridge meaning we could literally only go down the center of the bridge. Our only hope was to get to the destroyed vehicles for cover.

Funnily enough at the time the guy doing the over the top german accent was actually in charge of the biggest german community on PS. He was putting the accent on big time haha.
This game is pretty awesome but just be aware you will die, a lot, without seeing anyone.
Hey SCL thanks for replying. Yea i'm Dutch my 3rd language is German. So the bridge and tiger stuff was very funny haha. I miss that stuff in games i play recently (BF4 BF V etc)
And i've played a loooot of Project Reality in the past and also quite some Squad and Red Ochestra. So i'm not fully new to Realism Wargames :-) but yes i do realise it will be a big new adaptation and i will preferably play with serious experienced squadleaders
@@Doug.Dimmadome ah decent you should hopefully be able to apply some of the knowledge from those games you mentioned into PS. I have a lot of experience in squad leading on Arma 3 which did help a lot.
I'm relatively new to this game but this has quickly become my favourite map.
I had a great game the other night where the Germans made it over the bridge then it just turned into a bloody, house to house meat grinder.
Most people hate this map due to the bridge crossing bit haha. I think the map would be even better if the buildings had interiors!
@@scl9671 it just demands focus from the Germans. A well spaced solid push of armor and half tracks across the bridge can be very hard for the British to stop. But half the time you have the German team wasting men trying to cross pontoon bridge totally exposed or playing pot shot from across the river.

Hello mate, I have personally never seen a hacker in game before some people say they have but I have played almost 500+ hours and not seen one.
Its up to you whether you buy it now but just be aware the engine upgrade and the new theatre (most likely France 1940) is coming either this year or early next year from the information we have so you may end up learning the game now and then it could change quite substantially in a few months. Hope that helps!
I never played this game, so, i don't know why the screen sometime turns in black, can someone explain me?
It means the player is taking damage. When your vision zones out you die unless by luck a medic nearby will resuscitate you.
