@@albuquerquegardening i had a 290 pounder last year. I lost my first plant early July so I think I recovered well. I am only 9 days in with the current pumpkin and it seems like it's growing well.
@MisterEcks I don't really see them down here. I know there Is a species of vine borer native to the southwest, I've just not seen one in the 4 years I've tried growing pumpkins. I do use bonide systemic granules which are imidacloprid based

Engel will give you great orange pumpkin. He's a couple hours north of me.
yes I REALLY wanted a nice orange one, so sir Engel was a clear front runner in the seed selection
I fight powdery mildew starting mid to late July. I'm also on ABQ. Good luck
