I still don't trust Suriyak. It wouldn't surprise me if the map suddenly reduces the amount of Ukrainian control in Veseloye and claims Ukraine have been pushed out of areas they were never actually in.

Ukraine is now probably nuclear armed. For the last three years, Russia has claimed it can’t be touched because Putin has nuclear weapons and Ukraine doesn’t. However: - Ukraine has successfully sent missiles/drones with large conventional weapons warheads and precisely targeted supposedly well defended munitions stores. - Ukraine has one of the largest atomic energy sectors in the world. - Ukraine’s nuclear scientists trained in the USSR and in some cases designed and manufactured Soviet nuclear warheads. - Ukraine mined and processed most of the weapons grade Urainium for the USSR (Zhovti Vody, Kirovograd and Dnipropetrovsk.) - The two main Soviet industrial sites for uranium milling were/are in Ukraine (Zhovti Vody and Dniprodzerzhinsk). Ukrainians …. faced with Putin rattling his nukes for 3 years …. won’t have sat on their laurels. Ukraine has the resources, knowledge and material to construct atomic weapons. What they’ve lacked is a delivery vehicle. The attacks on missiles bases demonstrates they now unequivocally have that capability. If Ukraine is close to becoming (or already is) a nuclear capable power, they almost certainly won’t announce it. They’ll adopt the same policy as Israel - nuclear ambiguity - neither confirming or denying their capability. However all of the parties around the negotiating table will now be very aware that Ukraine probably has a nuclear arsenal. Addressing myself specifically to the Russian trolls here. How do you think ordinary Russians on the streets of Moscow, St Petersburg and Novgorod will respond as awareness that Ukraine almost certainly has a substantial nuclear arsenal becomes better known?
Love this post, you’ve brightened up my day/week! I follow the conflict very closely (and support Ukraine, obvs), but you’re the first analyst that I’ve heard predicting this. Let’s bloody hope that you’re right. Slava Ukraini. 🫡🇺🇦🇬🇧
@@King0fTheStoneAge Two and a half years is a long time in war. The Manhattan Project took 30 months from blank page to Nagasaki - and they started without an operating reactor and slide rule technology. The USSR established KB-11 in 1946 and tested their first atomic bomb about 30 months later. They had the advantage of plans from spys in the USA. They also had the Ukrainian Institute of Physics and Technology (Kharkiv) which was "Laboratory no. 1" and designed the USSR’s first bomb. (Fun fact, it’s still in operation and it still specialises in Nuclear particle physics.) But otherwise they had to do it all with 1940s slide rules technology. The DPRK, one of the poorest most sanctioned countries in Asia, took about 30 months. But they were aided by the massive leaps in technology since the 1940s. Ukraine has previously constructed atomic weapons and their progress with tech innovation (such as drones) is frankly amazing. They don’t need to invent anything, they just need to pull the plans out of their filing cabinets. They could easily have ramped up to full scale production by now. Putin always knew this, that’s why he planned a 3 day war. By now he must have reached the same assessment. It’s conceivable, but improbable, that for some inexplicable reason, Ukraine’s politicians showed the patience of Job, ignored all of Russia’s nuclear threats and sat on their hands.
