The fact that Reverend Putty, a devout Christian in the 90s, comes to his daughter and immediately accepts her lesbian lifestyle and tells her that she deserves a woman who will truly cherish her is so sweet and wholesome. I love this show.
It so fucking beautiful when Rev says you can't compare Stephanie and that cheerleader to Orel and his girlfriend. Stephanie is like who Rev you think its because I'm a lesbian and Orel is in a straight relationship. Then Rev drops the fucking bomb and said its because the cheerleader never loved you. My heart sunk so hard during this episode. I think because sometimes it can be harder for gay/lesbian individuals to find others like them so they sometimes romanticize relationships that really weren't romantic. or hold on to the few that do come along.
i grew up very lutheran and sheltered and realized as a young teenager that none of it really made sense to me. this show means so much to me because so much of it reflects parts of my upbringing that i’ve never really seen portrayed so well and so artistically
I love this song and I adore this show. It's nice to be among other people who feel the same way. From birth I was indoctrinated in the Southern Baptist faith and when I went to college I intended to become a minister but out on my own and with the ability to breathe and think for myself I began to doubt everything. I left college a wreck and it took me years to untangle all the damage. Moral Oral gets everything right and it's helped me a great deal. Just had to share a little. :)
