We have 23 plants whilst the US has 94(the nation with the most nuclear power plants) and China with 56 (ranks second). We don't have a whole lot of uranium reserves in India, and we were sanctioned until recently with regard to its acquisition, I believe.

Correct,western countries stopped development of their thorium technology decades ago and now have just restarted it's development just resently.@MightyKK006

It a very simple way of producing electricity, wherein even the rural, near illiterate to some extent get a job, but there won't be any scope for manipulations and corruption.
