20:20 The fish looks great. I bet his name is Merlin, Merlin the Marlin. Divided from his family in a storm that also cost him his "sword" but luckily picked up by a group of dolphins that taught him the ways of handling items with his mouth and utilizing sonar. (The Magnet's visual effect could resemble said sonar if reversed. It might add flavor if you like the idea)
That seems impractical and insanely difficult. I mean, the impractical aspect is irrelevant, but I can't think how you would do that. You could technically do it if the wind speeds reached supersonic but they don't. The highest wind speed is 720kph. Because otherwise you need to make a supersonic ornithopter, but the max I could make an ornithopter go was so far below that that is seems almost impossible.
@@slickrick8279 I don't think that would work due to the limitations in the physics. It wouldn't calculate enough thrust. Plus the drag is so immense on the sails that using the physics engine that speed would cap very quickly.
@@giacomogiazzon9890 not quite! Most ships that were historically powered by sails had a keel, like was shown in his early videos. A keel would redirect the force of the wind to push the craft forward, assuming that it wasn't facing directly into the wind.
When Scrapman talked about how the cliff underwater is intense I'd like to add that its just like that when scuba diving just even more intense cause you know you're there yourself.
Like a hydroplane (or the vehicle is called something else just cant think of it). It has hydrophobic materials which allows it to glide just atoms above the water. Correct me if im wrong though, i think thats how hydroplaning works.
At first I thought that the blue fish he was watching was one of those fish that swims sideways and can hide itself underneath sand. Turns out it was just how all the fish are modeled.
It's interesting to see the different ways Scrapman an I picked up the salvages. I mostly used these 4 vehicles: a small, slow but easy to control sub (top speed: ≈80 km/h), a modified Jet League racing sub to move the salvages quickly (top speed: 320km/h), a slow amphibious 8x8 truck with a tractor beam (top speed: ≈80 km/h), and a Super Sonic League racing airplane (top speed: 781 km/h)
Thanks to those trophies I'm imagining a bunch of Vikings having a beach party on some randomly warm island in the summer. Like they went far enough south, they must have encountered warm climates, right?
Mount Magma would be neat. I think it'd be a cool challenge to do it with a 'ground' vehicle. A crawler that can go up slopes and through the water and stuff. Maybe make it like a crab.
Some sails seem to have a distinct "front" side and a distinct "back" side That might as well be cuz your manta ray is spinning Try it with a fast plane if a sail will spin you to one side more than the other
Can you build a big Cargo Ship where you can detach and re-attach a small Sub so the Sub collects the artifacts and brings them to the ship to store them there?
Here's an idea for an experiment, based on making a fish: could you design a vehicle where you use a magnet to draw artifacts into its mouth, but rather than holding them on the magnet you release them into a hollow inner chamber. Then, once you've collected enough, you could have the top of the chamber open to release them all into the collector. Theoretically, this could allow you to transport many more artefacts than a ship that has to hold each one on its magnets, while also making it easier to collect, since your main magnet will always be free. My main concern is that internal collisions could very quickly become problematic. Alternatively, make a modern tanker ship at the start of the episode, with enough sensor-controlled magnets, on the deck of the ship, to hold all of the remaining artifacts for your next color. Then drive it from location to location, but use more specialized vehicles to actually collect the artifacts and deposit them on the ship, rather than collecting them directly with the tanker. Bonus points if the specialized ships dock to the tanker when not in use.
I think it would be awesome to see if you could make a flying bat, your manga looks like it would be an good place to start. You will probably need some micro trustees to find time directional control due to the winds, but it would be great if you could get it flying mostly with sail wings. If you do choose to go for the bag then I think the volcano would be the most thematic option.
16:05 one of your sails were flipped the wrong way around confusing the game, I had this glitch happen to me with a jet I made. All you have to do is find the glitched wing (or sail in this case) and rotate it the correct way.
It would be really cool if you could lower the top fin like an actual sword fish does and put on a fast mode, since you can already lower the fin you should just add in a fast mode
You should make a jet that looks like a flying fish to take certain artifacts from one place all the way across the map. I have been watching you for over 2 years and love your videos I always look forward for what’s coming next
I think the red ones on the Volcano would be a good coup de grâce, everyone likes a bit of hot volcano action! Please, get the yellow Ice ones next. A Crab Bot that walks on the bottom of the Ocean and up on Land maybe? With the "Pincers" armed with tractor beams. And, could you use the pipe pieces to make a "Sword"? Also if its a Marlin, then the Sword is only its upper jaw anyway, isn't it? So there wouldn't be a problem with upper & lower jaw welding together.
Scrapman, swordfish evolved for the open ocean so they mainly evolved for speed and stamina (they're the fastest fish in the world, and can swim for several days non stop, but not at their max speed) and they're pretty agile but they can't maneuver in tight spaces. So if you added a sword to your swordfish and made it faster you would have a very realistic swordfish
Challenge for You: Go to the lava zone or ice zone and collect everything, but you can't use anything that flies. It's suposed to be achiveable and should be fun :)
how abt you make an impractical wagon for the nest area with wheels made out of the viking trophies? that'll be fun. also instead of the coffee mug you can put the tikki trophy on it to look cool
You could add the sword bit with a long wedge and 1x4 shield pieces on the top of the mouth, because a real swordfish’s sword is on top of its mouth, not like a beak
I dont really know how the sails works, but. I have an idea, look: if you have an rotating motion like, lets say a rotating servo. And you place sails all around it facing away FROM the rotating servo, basically like a wheel of sails. And then you slap some logics to it with sensors that activates and deactivates the sails to creat forward momentom. Please try it cause im pretty confident it will work if you do it correctly! (Sry incase i misspelled something, but i think you get the idea.)
For the underwater rotation thing, I've been having a similar problem with one of my subs. It's propeller powered so I'm stumped as to why it rotates to the right. I checked all the inputs, it can go into mirror mode just fine, but for some reason, it rotates to the right. For a while, I thought that there might be some mega ocean current that slowly pushes everything right, but I tested the sub on other maps and it had the same problem. The even more confusing part is that I recenty added tractor beams to it, and for some reason, even though I kept the sub completely symmetrical, it no longer had the rotation problem. At this point, I can only assume it is a highly specific bug with symmetrical ocean creations.
You should play a game called “From The Depths” it may take some learning but once you know the basics it can be really fun, I have the game with over 300 hours into it, it’s good.
