I have one of these but it is the sound tracker version with delta tune instead of the dimmer.. It works great except every channel is 5 KC's high so channel 1 through 40 is receiving and transmitting between the proper channels.. Was told that it could be a bad capacitor, diode or solder connection somewhere around the PLL tuner IC or that someone deliberately modified it to do this and there is a jumper or switch that needs to be undone to make it normal again.. It is so old that it isn't worth paying someone $100 to fix it so I hope to find a schematic and troubleshooting guide or someone like this with free helpful advice.. The SWR function also does not seem to work which could also be a diode or capacitor somewhere near the finals and the antenna connector..
Seeing the SWR switch does nothing, it could have been used to switch between 5khz and normal operation. ;-)

@@Radionut63 I stuck in my to do repairs box with several other radios while I have advice feelers out.. This has quite a good possibility of being the case and I will add it to the first things to check when I go into that box and my bench repair mentality mode.. Things are winding down fast here on the farm and about all that is left is fall cleanup and the house and barn clean out for a load to the metal recycler.. First up will be the power control bord out of my son in laws Sony TV when that part comes in then the box.. Thanks for your reply....
Sure could have used seeing the light replaced. Did you solder new wire to board, or solder old wire to bulb?
Thank you my frend
