The classic NFL music in the background is a song from Autumn Thunder from NFL Films.

That song just oozes football.
Ashton Bullock it's awesome and Who Dat
WHO DATTTTTTTT SAY THEY GONNA BE DEM SAINTS
It oozes america
It’s got that old school football feel
It is my ringtone! Whodat!
Wonder if NFL Films and the composers of this music ever thought they would end up having a massive impact on US culture.
Pretty damn sure they knew … that was their main objective
Listen to this song before doing anything of great importance.
That is really a intelligent thought Joe. good idea :)
Most fitting comment on the internet!
Solid fucking advice!!!!
About to change cat litter. Still holds true though
@@xezazase seriously changing my cat litter today too.
And you wonder why many of us who grew up watching football in the 70s think it was the greatest. This music brings me rite back
It sucks now st8 up corporate
james barton I’m 25 about to be 26 and I agree with you. Football now is 35 to 28 even higher. My favorite type of games are defensive matchups where it’s 9 to 3 and all field goals...
@@lloydchristmas6939 me too!!-
When you heard the music " this week in the NFL " not this crap today
Especially the greatest for CTE!
The NFL in 70's and early 80's was the best!!!!!!
Everyone should be listening to this on kickoff day!
Absolutely!
NO, The owners should demand F Goodell to have this played after each National Anthem EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY. And am surprised this Sam Spence music is not being continued in todays game. I know I play all these Spence songs on my NFL home hangouts with freinds. And put that Fn Kaepernick in the corner of the field when we play these Awesome tunes like a lil punk.
The chills
When football was football. Makes you proud to be a fan.
This music is like a direct nitrous injection of NFL fever!
What I love about this composition (Round Up) by *Sam Spence* are the movement and the rhythm. This song *IS* a football game. The entire song has the same rhythm-you can set a clock to it. Parts are *fast* and flowing-like a well-run offense. Other parts are *bruising* and tough-like an *unstoppable* defense. The song has slight *stops and starts* like a football game. The pauses are not bad, and the underlying *rhythm* keeps you going-you know there is more-the game is not over. Just a *perfect* composition-great and high art. Awesome.
Excellent description.
What you just described is “music”
You can set a clock to any song on planet earth (the term us musicians use for that device that works keeping time is called a metronome)
But all the moving parts you described that move at different paces that’s just having multiple instruments
That’s the beauty of music having all of those different instruments weaving in me out of eachother while at the same time sounding uniform.
This is especially noticeable with orchestral music where there are many different instruments making many different contrasting sounds.
And the changes in pace is called a time signature change which is basically using a different count for notating the passage of time per “round” (or in music lingo, a measure).
So I find it kind of funny from my point of view that as a non musician thts when hearing a football theme song in your mind it reminds you of football. But that’s just because this is a football song. But ll the things you said would also apply to like Australian Aboriginal tribal music or a bunch of homeless people beating drum rhythms with various trash cans and buckets or even the most cringe pop song like Rebecca blacks masterpiece 😉 “Friday”
@@matts5247Basically, the sounds of the strings, flutes, and trumpets make an uplifting sound, which is similar to what he described as the NFL offense that is trying to have a good drive. The trombones are what makes the sound of the defense, the hard nosed tough part of the game. The piece is basically a march, just like a team would try and march down the field. The snare drives the best the entire time (which is normally true for an orchestral piece) throughout the song, which is what he meant when describing what you thought was describing the tempo.
Now I understand that maybe it wasn't the most detailed description of how to describe the song, but it is simple to understand their point. You don't have to rag on them for not being a music nerd. They simply enjoyed the song and wanted to share what their feelings were about the song.
@@brycematthews9328 I wasn’t ragging on him.
And what you’re saying and what he is saying is different you’re mentioning specific instruments whereas he described general elements that could apply to any type of music
I just thought it was interesting from the perspective of a musician since most people don’t actually think about what makes music music so in this example he related it to football but all of his examples were applicable to all football
I just thought this was interesting although I do understand what he was getting at and don’t disagree with that it’s just the way in which he described it I found amusing
(I don’t mean that in a hateful way)
@matts5247 my bad didn't understand the meaning behind the message.
Nothing like hearing this on a Sunday morning eh fella's?!
Love Jack Lambert's pic. Classic!
Tha steele curtain
I just wrestled a steer after hearing this...
I finally found it!!!
my exact thoughts
Bro I just shouted that lol
I searched NFL Tuba song...lol
Dunder Jones what’s your favorite song? Mine is Round up. Man this hits me right in the throat. I can remember all of us kids humming this song if you had the football playing tackle on cement in front of my school with some very mature rose bushes as one of the outer bounds. So many cuts and bruises and beatings for ripping clothes but I didn’t care and after awhile my parents just let me be. However I never took a beating on the cement and I truly think it toughen me up and by the time I started playing organized ball playing on grass was like playing on memory foam. Football is a mans man sport. I started playing at 4 with the older kids and the first thing they gonna wanna see is if you got heart? You see in the hood they didn’t care how old you was but if you playing then you better be ready because ain’t no such thing as take it easy.
YESSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!
This is the classic. This is the music I think of when I think of the NFL. Heavy, tough, and gritty.
2 minutes of being 7 years old again, collecting football cards of your heroes. That was great...thank you.
jack lambert the meanest man in nfl ever he rules forever
Played for tha steele curtain
Perfect! Nothing else be said! Power, guts, and glory. Bless the men during this time. Warriors!
This Instrumental encapsulates my time growing up in the '70s....It touches my soul with a ghostly haunt whenever I hear it...What an Era!!!....'70s BEST!!!

the most inspirational song of all time
Oh my GOD, I love this song. I first heard this song on the NFL films show that used to come on back in the 80's.
This Week in the NFL? 🏈🏈
The music is pure genius.
Players and fans who were part of the NFL in the 1970s & 80s captured lightning in a bottle. The best teams, uniforms, rivalries, stadiums and announcers plus the magic of NFL Films and their music. Today there is no MTV because there is no longer any music. Today there is no NFL Films because the NFL no longer deserves it.
This is so good. I enjoy seeing the old NFL Player.
Back when I used to play Madden, and their soundtracks went to shit, I would disable all the crappy songs and only keep the NFL music in the background.
Katsuya89 did the same thing
Always 💯
Same
Katsuya89 I still do to this day
LOL So I wasn't the only one.
0:08 that's one mean bastard... reminds me of my boys uncle terry monkaGIGA

DuDe! I have been looking for this theme FOREVER and finally found it! If this isn't the perfect theme to watch your favorite team pulling guards and pancaking db's while your favorite runningback crushes the safety, i don't know what is!!!!!!!!
Every time I crack open a beer this song plays in my head.

Used to absolutely LOVE this music, especially watching the old "This Week in the NFL" back in the 70's.. Combined with excellent highlight editing, unbeatable. Had a hankering to hear this after watching a bunch of "Top 10" videos.
Not ashamed to say my eyes are misty listening to this.
Man perfect!
Man NFL films was our ESPN back in the 70s. The song round up was my favorite. It just has so much intensity to this song.

Oh, h e l l yeah,,,,,,Saturday mornings, watching the NFL game of the week, or highlights, with this music being cranked in the background.....no WONDER I became addicted to football!
This should be played every time Bud Grant enters a room.
This music is tougher than todays players .
You're not Wrong!!!
What a great surprise, I miss this.
There’s a close competition between this and classic battle for the winner of my heart
My God this beat is fire 🔥🔥🐢🐢🐢
Such good memories.
My goodness I love this. The greatest football video on RUclips. Check out the look on Mike Singletary's face in his part of the video.
Love this video...... But have you ever watched the "Autumn Wind" a Raiders video. I've love that video and associated the poem/song with the team. When I stayed near Vegas and saw the practice facility in the desert, the only tune that went through my head was "the good, the bad, and the ugly" wah wah wuh..
Brings back memories.
DRAFT DAY BABY LETS GOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!

If this Masterpiece doesn't get you ready for Football, I don't know what will.
