As a worldgen dev, I always enjoy checking in on your videos because I understand the "behind the scenes" of them, and for this world, I know that you (or whoever makes these for/with you), made the world generate as an ocean, like normal, and then after it has generated completely, remove all the water from it. Which is funny and impressive to see from a smaller channel lol.
There is a world edit mod that lets you load in chunks whilst editing them. Can't remember it for the life of me but I used it for my personal world to load in an ocean for my clockwork ships
I don’t know if anyone else mentioned this, but you should definitely go for a few golden carrots if you’re ever in a weird world like this again. The saturation is better, so the 9 carrots you’d get from a block of gold can go a long way.
It needs to be pretty big to get anything other than fish. Idk when that became true but my fishing pond didn't have anything but fish until I expanded it recently.
Those water blocks weren't glitches, it's because the game didn't consider those as "water" blocks, but Bubble collumns, notice how they were all above magma blocks. Edit: i dunno about those in the caves, waterlogged stalagmites and stalagtites?
Hey! Just a little tip, when you're looking for a buried treasure, just go at the red x, and then press f3 and find your chunc coordinates. Bureid treasures always spawn at 9x ~ 9z so it will be easier!

I just stumbled upon your channel and I have to say, you're so much better than other MC RUclips's because I can tell your genuinely happy about things in your video instead of exaggerating it for the video
Well if you have a fishing rod with mending, enough iron to make a bucket and the ocean ruins spawn with a block of water, then you already have an infinite food source
My current world is set to "beaches", which give roughly the same experience except with water. If you have shipwrecks, you are all good. You only have to live of chest scrounging until you find some moss or potatoes or carrots.
Hey Colm, thanks for this video! This looks like a really cool world to play through! I followed the Curseforge link you provided, got the 1.21.1 version of the data pack, set sea_level to -63 in the overworld.json, and spawned a new 1.21.1 world while including the edited data pack.. The world had no ocean, but it was covered by trees and grass along with frequent monuments and shipwrecks. I was hoping for your gravel/stone/sand dry ocean bed. What other settings did you make to overworld.json? And did you work with any of the biome JSONs? Take care, I am now subscribed!
Actually I just generated a flooded world using the datapack. Then using a world editing program (Amulet), I selected an enourmous area and simply deleted all the water blocks and waterlogged blocks. I essentially created a massive adventure map to play in. If I kept walking for long enough in any direction I would have eventually seen the edge of the selected area. Hope that helps!
@@XNKMS Thanks for that, Colm! Thanks for the clue, I will look at Amulet. I *was* able to reproduce your lava world using that datapack: overworld, sealevel 63, default fluid minecraft:water, zipped up the datapack and applied it to a Dripstone Cave single biome. Voila! Everything in that world wants to gnaw on me. I managed to find only one tree, and set about carefully growing and dispersing its progeny.
I love it when RUclips recommends me wholesome channels like this one! Gotta say I was really entertained man, keep doing what you're doing! Subscribed.
