STEJTHEGREATEST he looks younger to you because this is during the years that he was off of steroids. In his book he talks about how when he got off the juice in the early 90s, he lost a lot of weight and looked like a popped balloon, with his face and body getting really slender looking because he got off steroids cold turkey. Eventually towards his WWE return in the 2000s, he started to get his old look back, with more of the swollen hulk look with the thick neck and pudgy face.
Also, I wouldn't say 1990/1991 was the height of Hulkamania, I mean he dropped the belt and passed the torch to Warrior in 1990. 1987/88 was the peak, and when he was in his prime. He was the full time champion selling out 80,000 seat arenas, enjoying a 4-year winning streak, in top physical shape, not yet relegated to his later part-time attraction status, and as over with the fans as he would ever be.
Lack of juice will do that.
Who would have believed it at this point if someone told you in just 4 years these two would be wrestling each other in the ring?

I think he cared mostly what kids thought of him and kept his image that of someone they could all look up to. He wasn't going to let Jay bring him down in this interview and kept his persona friendly and likable. He was and always will be wrestlings Golden Child! Long live the Hulkster!

I was a Hogan fan growing up, but I gotta say it looks like he got Christian Cage's legs here.
He did stay off the roids. He never got bigger after this point, to the present day.

Jay can only relate to fellow nerds. But that's what makes his interviews so good you feel like throwing something at the TV when he interviews jocks or macho guys. You know they're thinking wtf. I've yelled at him when he asks goofy or silly questions but in the end you can't help but like him. Of all the post Carson guys in my opinion he's by far the best. I think hes actually a decent boxer cause his dad was amateur boxer.

Hogan was actually 41 years old in this video. He had considered retiring in 1993, but decided against it less than a year later when he was offered a contract to join WCW. At the age of 59, Hogan's most recent appearance in wrestling was on an episode of TNA Impact that aired on 8/23/2012.
Update: last apperence in wrestling was last night at the WWE hall of fame. Inducted as a member of the nWo along side Nash, Hall and Syxx aka X-Pac aka 123-Kid aka Sean Waltman.

I have no problem believing that. Height makes a big difference. You act like you know things but you don't. I can actually base things I say on people I know and that I've met.

Looks like he lost all that fat around his arms. 19 inches of muscle + 5 inches of fat = 24 inches. In all do respect, he had bigger arms than a lot of people in that time even when he trimmed down
He had really slimmed down by this point in his career, he hardly looks like a wrestler anymore.. I don't know when this interview took place, I'm guessing maybe about 15 years ago
OK first off, his physique still looks good. And this interview was in the early 90s. He is not as bulky as he was because this is around the steroid scandal. So during that time he dropped a lot of weight. But, I think he looks quite athletic and still stronger looking than many other wrestlers. He regains some of his bulk during the 90s after they start juicing again.

@wrestledon Yes I am sure. He said he when was filming Thunder in Paradise he got down to around 240lbs. Look at him here, he's skinny as heck. He only claimed to be 275lbs when he came back to fight the Rock in 2002. And he was alot bigger then than here. Still 6'5.5" and 240lbs with almost zero body fat is pretty big. Like I said though, he was well over 300lbs at various points in his prime.
hogan is skinny here because of the steroids use and controversy in WWF at the time so he was asked to get off the roids for a bit. just before we left to got o WCW

@AzEvanz Dwayne was listed 6'4 in college football (they always add extra height so NFL have your attention) he's about 6'3 barefoot, he was also listed 6'3 in his new movie... case closed. Hogan was same height at him at WM18, with a footwear advantage... hogan was 6'4 peak and is 6'3 today. there's no evidence of any major height loss
