    Every piece has Hoppy's signature on it. So many poetic moments! And the gutty sound of the lute with it's 4th course octave is authentic and magical.

    In the quiet corner, merriment of music he plays.
    Feeling superimposed in the time of the instrument,
    In the far distance, yet, so close, am very happy to
    find him play just as I have adored from his discs.

    • @amorise957

      In the quiet corner he plays, 'tis true
      However no logic stands in front of him
      Excited people like to clap, no argue
      If I could murder some, 'd I be so grim?

    • @iyozoh
      @iyozoh 2 года назад +1

      @@amorise957 appreciate your view, logic shouldn't
      be a member of music, I think. It gives us just love,
      and that love has long captured me from his play.
      Grim belongs to poet work. Pls take it easy.

      @Tom McArdle Short of ready made pastes, it's often recommended to use French chalk, or bar soap, depending on the problem. Should only need to be done whenever you change strings.

    • @DeOmnibusDubitandum76
      @DeOmnibusDubitandum76 2 года назад +2

      @Tom McArdle Thank you for your kind advice, sir! Yes, I have tried peg paste. The worst problem with this inexpensive lute is the impossibility of bringing the chanterelle to pitch. Regardless of the string gauge, it will only go as high as E. Whenever I try to tune the whole instrument to G (as it was originally when I bought it, mind you) the string breaks. The others remained sound and in pitch. It is the chanterelle which forces me to keep the entire instrument tuned down to E. It is a challenge to keep motivated when an instrument does not respond. Keep well and all the best for 2022!

    • @AndSendMe
      @AndSendMe 2 года назад +2

      @@DeOmnibusDubitandum76 Make sure you have the right gauge for the string length. If this obvious issue is not the problem, then if the break is happening near the nut or bridge, these should be checked for sharp edges. The nut is often the culprit and is best attended to by a luthier.
