you didnt come up with this combo...
@@MeshuggahDave. By coming up with this combo, I don't mean that it has never before been done and I am the first person to do it. I just mean that I had not seen this combo in its entirety anywhere yet when I pieced together the various tricks and shorter pieces of other combos that this one is composed of.
There are so many tricks and combos on the internet, and even more that may never be uploaded, it is impossible to know whether or not something is truly original before I post it.
I am curious though, have you seen this specific combo somewhere before? I would like to check it out if so!
@@MeshuggahDave. No worries, thank you for clarifying with this reply, I appreciate the time you took to respond!
@@benshaminflips we could go into the logic of the flip and trick but i personally have found this combo through my own meditations. to me i feel like everyone that has spent a long enough time with a trainer should have figured out most of the tree...
I have been working on a trick guide where all the tricks discovered are organized in some sort of book with a video to go along with it but life keeps me occupied with other stuff. if you look at some balisong trick channels they could help you figure out the exact terminology you may be lacking.
one trick that is not one that comes easily is the vulpe trick or anything using the half closed fan move to go to chaplin, is the way i look at it.
theres also the cherry picker that no one does right, which is an index to thumb roll in one motion, non stop. most people do that as an index roll to whip to thumb roll after picking up the index roll from a hellish position. hellish meaning the knife is under your hand after ricochet and your middle finger holding the inside of the handle so that when you twist the roll above your hand you move from standard grip to underhand before the roll
it is supposed to just be the index to thumb after the hellish move. traditionally done after opening like a murnax.
i gave you a meshuggah dave break down in another comment just now. Cheers. nice video.

That is very nice of you to say, thank you!
Absolutly incredible content man! :D
Thank you so much, Profex!
@@benshaminflips Of course dude! If I ever make another shoutouts video, you're 100% in it :) (unless you'd be opposed of course)
@@profex. Thanks, I appreciate it, I wouldn't mind at all! And feel free to hit me up if you ever want to collab!
@@benshaminflips I'd love to man, would you happen to have discord?
@@profex. I do! I just made an account for this channel the other day. I just sent you an email to the email on your RUclips channel
I feel like it's easier and somewhat cleaner to do the rev Chaplin vertically, that's just how I did it out of first instinct though.
That's a cool way to do it too, nice tip!
loved the video love the combo but do you have just the pulp or are you going to do a collection video
Thank you! I was actually thinking of doing a balisong collection/my flipping journey video for a 500 subscriber thank you video. At this rate, it will probably be pretty soon!
I do have a couple of other balis, but not a huge collection by any means 😅
Oh that would be very cool to see. I love those types of videos

Wow thanks, that is cool to hear! 😃
nah cus fr the tutorials are straight 🔥 keep it up man!
@@evannsx9334 Thank you so much, will do!!
Bro has the same knife as me!
Ayy let's go! It's such a good color
I’ve learned many tricks up to around advanced yet I’m still unable to find one that ends in that pinch grip at the end
The trick called the Kiss Goodbye is one that ends in the pinch grip. This combo ends in a very similar way to that trick
Can you send a link of the balisong you're using? I really like the trainer blade on that. Similar to my Benchmade 63 Balisong.
The balisong trainer is the Vulp made by Nabalis. Here is a link to the official website: www.nabalis.com/products/the-vulp-the-first-trainer-of-nabalis-x-will-hirsch
You can also find it on Amazon, BladeHQ, and AliExpress.
@@benshaminflipsthank you so much!!!
Hey I just made my first tutorial. It’s on the giraffe and it wouldn’t stick if you could tell me how I did
Sure, I will check it out when I can!
Which balisong is that ?
I loved the video the combo was nice and simple
It is the Vulp made by Nabalis.
Awesome, I'm glad to hear you enjoyed the video and the combo 🙌
Ah thank you@@benshaminflips
@@Sai-fh9vm you're welcome!
so you do here :
index roll to underhand close to thumb roll to back hand twirl to reverse chaplin (which is the cool part of the trick, almost like an alt vulpe) to 0g thumb roll to an over hand thumb roll to a halfie overhand step ladder to an index roll to close.
almost like you went walking for the kiss goodbye and found an easy way around it. I wouldnt call this intermediate when people can do things like multiple giraffes. This is good chatter and could very well become something of a signature move for you but it is comprised of basic elements even if the transitions are more unusual.
All in all i actually cant say I have seen this particular combo before in any particular video, however I could imagine there are more advanced lines that require more control and precision than to what you have recorded here that would follow the same path after the first thumb roll and then include the 0g thumb roll along with a following ladder.
Yeah, it is really difficult to classify combos, I tried looking at what people had posted as beginner combo tutorials though and they were much more simple than this and a bit shorter also. I figured I'd rather have more experienced flippers think this combo is easier than intermediate, than beginners click on the video labeled as beginner and think it is way too complicated for them to even try.
I honestly think beginners could get this combo down in a day depending on how dedicated they are! I just didn't want to scare anyone away from trying 😁
@@benshaminflips subbed.
@@benshaminflips Lol I'm pretty new to it and recently got a Mako v4.5 from squid industries, I think the biggest fear is learning it near a device since you don't wanna accidentally break the screen. Also chaplins and spins in general are just scary imo
Just a heads up, that's not a Rev Chaplin, thats just going the other way. A Rev Chaplin is under the hand, or vertical around the index (for example) and it spins towards you.
I appreciate you taking the time to comment and give a correction! From what I understand though, the chaplin in the combo is indeed a reverse chaplin. A rev chaplin is just a chaplin that spins in the opposite direction from a regular chaplin; the orientation (over your hand like normal, under the hand, vertical) does not matter. That is what I have seen in any other video I have come across such as the Squid Industries tutorial for the rev chap.
It sounds like the other 2 types of chaplins you described are reverse chaplins too though!
Hey great vid. I have a question that’s not really about the vid. Did you have troubles assembling the vulp and if so what vid did you watch?
Thank you! I haven't actually disassembled the Vulp yet, so I have not had to reassemble it yet either. I know Will Hirsch has an in depth video about how to tune balisongs and he uses the Vulp in that video to serve as a guide to assembling the Vulp also, I'm pretty sure.
@@benshaminflips Hey ty for answering. I am going to order one right now.
@@TheRage86 Of course, I appreciate you taking the time to leave a comment!
Awesome! Let me know how you like it when it arrives 😁

Its a cool combo, the bounce to rev chaplin is what I wanted but the whole thing together is cool
Its not cool anymore I just dropped my bali on my phone and cracked the screen
Nooo!! 😰 Sorry to hear about the screen.
I'm glad that you got to learn the combo, especially the bounce to rev chap though!
You shouldn’t flip over your screen
Красивое комбо!! Скажи, как называется цвет твоего Baliisonga?
Thank you! The balisong is the Nabalis Vulp, and the color is teal.

bro stop talking and show the damn tick lol getting all confused by repeating the same thing
I like to recap often because when I'm learning a combo from a tutorial I find it helpful for remembering the steps when people do that. I realize I didn't include timestamps for this one, but I did mention there would be a slow-motion at the end of the video in case you want to just watch that to follow along.
Do you have an instagram? Also great tutorial, hopefully I get it down
Thank you! I'm sure you will be able to get this one 😃
Yes I do, though I really have not posted anything on there yet. I made it just to have an official one in case I need it really. Here's the link though instagram.com/benshaminflips?igshid=MzNlNGNkZWQ4Mg==
