Republic Services - Autocar Xpeditor CNG McNeilus ZR on Recycle (1541)

- Me and my family went up to North Las Vegas this past Monday to visit some friends that we haven't seen for a while and it just happen to be collection day. I've known about this route day for years, but have never had a chance to check it out. Although, I really didn't expect to film anything because everything in this area is usually done in the morning, so filming this truck was extremely lucky for me because we came at around 3 p.m. and the recycle had yet to be collected. I was pretty shocked that they were running late, my friends confirmed that their trash and recycle is usually done in the morning.
I found this truck at about 4 p.m. and stopped filming at about 5 p.m. From my point of view it almost looks like I filmed this in the morning, but that's not the case, the sun was starting to go down. This was also my first time experiencing a McNeilus ZR in person. I have to say these are pretty entertaining trucks! The driver was very friendly. He told that they don't have anymore Pythons in the Cheyenne yard, all of them have been sent to the Henderson yard. He told me that those trucks are older, faster, and operate better haha. I was pretty stoked about getting one of the older ZRs too, Republic recently bought another batch of ZRs with wraps on the bodies (I believe we're up to the 1580's now.) This route has been automated for several years now, which explains all the B-series carts. I really miss those carts.

I miss this truck! This truck was my recycle truck for over 3 years. I think Republic May have scrapped it with 1540 because I haven’t seen those at the yard in awhile

Haha thanks for the shoutout :-) Awesome catch!! Very fun truck, it has a different type of quickness to it than your Pythons that are already fast. Good to see that Vegas runs their trucks pretty fast. Love how the driver floored it from stop to stop too, I find the noise of the engine very fun to listen to when the RPMs go up. So, now that you've gotten a chance to see these ZRs, you prefer the Pythons still? And random thought...red Republic ZR lol. Anyway good catch on this!

I've grown too attached to them haha. But I would definitely love to film more of these units when I have the chance to. Lol! Thank you!!

Great work! Really entertaining truck, I actually prefer watching these over the pythons, but that's because Mcneilus ZRs are my favorite side loader. Hope to see more of these once they start coming in your area.

This is great video of a ZR. Its actually quite fast and rough on the carts. I like how theres no tag axel either. It would have been neat to see a White/Red ZR though too bad Republic wants to make their nationwide fleet look the same. Great video it was very much enjoyed!
+TrashMaster684 Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed! Agreed! Me too, you won't see any Vegas Republic truck with a tag. Yes, I totally agree, that would look so cool! Tell you a secret: we have two or three red Autoreaches that are White/Red, but they're last resort spares. I appreciate the feedback!

How can I get a job in Vegas doing residential ASL work for Republic?
I would check their website for job openings for Las Vegas and see if there are any positions open for a residential driver.

Id love to have a job running an ASL. That ZR is one of my favorite ASL bodies and looks damn good in Republic colors I must say.
Not to sound like a prima-donna or anything but I wouldn't want to do the manual rear load work. I'm getting too old for that and I need to work another 20 years so ASL is the road to retirement for me.
