You're right about the price. I'm getting back into that camera and now I'm watching the videos to refamiliarize myself with a great camera I shot all the time 25 years ago.
Right !!!! After the video I shot one of them and the entire plastic cover on the hand grip literally imploded. New one in the mail lol. 80s-90s plastic isn’t the best
Take care of that Minolta 7000. Usually their top LCD screen bleeds over the time. But your is in pristine order. I have newer models 7000i and 7xi, but I am waiting patiently for good deal. Manly trying to find one with the LCD that has no bleed.
@@robbellphoto I have seen one video on YT showing how to fix the bleed. Search 'Fix screen bleed' and you'll see it. But I have not seen any video yet of openning Minolta 7000. Hopefully someone skilled will try this someday.
New aspiring photographer, was gifted this camera by a relative. Had no idea what it was. Super happy that this will be my first camera to start my journey.
very nice Minoltas. I had a small 100-200mm shotgun lens. The first decent analog lens. Unfortunately, I don't have anything from Minolta or Konica analog SLR cameras yet. Preferably those from the 1960s. Although I have a Konica rangefinder from that period. Beautiful chrome plated brass.
I too got one of these for free. Have been using the 35mm-105mm lens that came with it with an adapter on my Micro 4/3 rds camera. Takes stunning images !!!!
Just bought one with three lenses and an unused 2600 flash for £40 in a charity shop love it already as I now struggle to focus my Praktica with my varifocals on!
There was a Dynax 7000 in my local photography shop way back in the 80's that I would drool over. 😅 I have a question for you. If you had the choice between the D40 or the D3000, which one would you choose?
Think imma snag a 9000 for sh*ts and Gigs ;-) Ummmmmm ….. ok that’s a question …… ok I’ll punt for the D40 BUT …. Has to be the D40x please ! Half of the reason is the price point but I will say the auto focus on the 3000 I think is same same as the 90….. BUUUUT I sue my RE retro manual lens on my 40x so it’s irrelevant….. I will say ….. the 3000 has made me some decent money however selling them. I’ve sold 3 on flips and made 50-75 bucks each which paid for my Nikon d300
I got my Minolta Maxxum 7000 from a friend of mine who was doing work at a home and the owners were going to throw it in the trash. It came with a few lenses and a camera bag. I can't wait to get the first roll developed. Its a fun camera to use and I never worry about someone wanting to steal it from me.
Great question ! Take the hand grip off of the right hand side as you’re holding the camera. If you watch the video you’ll see a body without the battery pack in place
Please read the manuel: It says "the lifetime of lcd should be 10 years" (Page 65-Maxxum 7000 manuel). These monsters have a short time left unfortunately.
My grandmother gave one this week, but it doesn’t work. I out fresh batteries and replaced the flat one behind the metal door, but just doesn’t turn on. What can be the problem?
My friend with these older plastic fantastic camera bodies it could be many issues. Check the battery power terminals , if there is corrosion then they may need cleaning and insure that you have brand new batteries for the camera. These are so in expensive , if it needs a repair it may not be worth the money unless this is extremely sentimental of course ! Good luck
I think, back in the day, Canon, Nikon were much stronger in the marketing area. Even now you'll find lots of youtubers picking canon or nikon cameras just because the name ( my oponion ), eventhough they are not better than minolta cameras. But this is good. As you can find Minolta cameras for really cheap, + they are great cameras. Right now I am shooting with X570 and having a blast.
Love it! My father had the Maxxum 7000 and it's the camera I learned photography. Recently picked one up in excellent condition.
I just grabbed another ! That’s 4 bodies and all the lens options. They’re fantastic.
i love how the camera looks. This 80's retro vibe is outstanding. Those buttons. Damn.
Seriously! I have a Samurai Half frame from 86 in the mail. I’m super excited
You're right about the price. I'm getting back into that camera and now I'm watching the videos to refamiliarize myself with a great camera I shot all the time 25 years ago.
This is hands down one of the most fun camera bodies to play with. Although the button layout is strange compared to standard SLRs of the era for sure
Rad video!! Inspired me to take mine off the shelf and put some batteries in it!

Mine is getting delivered today. Now I'm hyped
@@chriskinson1 it’s actually a pretty awesome camera and inexpensive to invest into a complete kit. I love mine and the results are amazing 🤩
Incredible video all around🎉🎉🎉

Once the bleed covers the function screen, the camera is a little screwed for sure :-(

Picked one of these up from a camera charity, bit of a hidden gem.
Looks great feels great works great

Wait ! Seriously great idea … a decent prime 50 is a little too expensive these days so I’ll grab a 4/3 adapter also ! Thanks so much
@@robbellphoto You're welcome. I have been using an adapter from Fotodiox with great results. Cost is about $25.00 USD.
@@williammoskovitz7772 thanks ! Will purchase immediately
I got it for free too!
Hi Robert.
The first film camera I owned was an Olympus Pen F. Seveny two frames of pure enjoyment.
I am shooting my first roll of 35mm since childhood on this camera 😍
Fantastic to be a colleague. Enjoy my dude.

Great video
I have Pentax SFXn. As new. As tank 😊
Best $10 I ever spent
Right !!!

Truth !!! However mine and my spare are great still
I have it setting next to my maxxum 5000
Have been contemplating a 5000, I love the simplicity of the layout and the hidden ISO panel.

I paid $25 for my X7000 and 3 lenses. One Leica MP = 240 Minoltas 😢😢😢
Hey. I’m all for the old school vibes
Why so cheap?
My thoughts exactly;-) I would say that they’re simply not ***on trend** as they shoot so well
