I love your analysis! A great movie for me is when I'm still thinking about it days after viewing it. Two weeks later and this film is still on my mind. I've seen several of the Academy Award nominated movies, this one's my favorite. That beautiful song comes in at the end to just make the film, perfect! I plan to watch it again this week. I too wish for Riz Ahmed to win.

it absolutely should not. The plot wasn't anything new. The acting was mediocre, nothing outstanding. The characters were all pretty dull and uninspired. I think the worst part was ruben and lou's relationship - didn't buy it all. Some of their dialogue was embarrassingly bad and I think olivia cooke's acting left a lot to be desired. I thought the movie began to pick up after ruben got surgery but I wish they cut some of the later scenes with lou and ended it earlier.

The film isn’t about it being an complex storyline, i agree riz doesnt deserve an oscar for it but the film definitely deserves it for best sound
