I am a huge S1 E2 sport quattro fan and I cant wait to get this model. I already have its smaller brother which is equally awesome. I just wish they would have done the correct speedline 5 spoke wheels for them. I'm going to try the kyosho turbo scorpion wheels when it arrives as they are the nearest thing looks wise. Hopefully Carisma may offer upgrade wheels at some point. It will also be getting spot light pods on the front to add some detail and also door handle decals from the Tamiya Golf mk2 kit as they shared the same handles in full size.
I happened upon this brand while browsing and this particular model caught my eye, aesthetically and especially because of the higher voltage rating over the Subaru. What's disturbing is how easily those body posts broke; the impacts were off camera but didn't seem that bad. I think of the body-post plastic on Tamiya, Kyosho, and other brands and that's the last part I'd expect to break on their cars considering the lexan body will flex on impact; Carisma must be using a harder and hence more brittle plastic for those posts.
I was hoping to capture the impact (actually, I was hoping for no impact whatsoever, but…🤷♂️), however I wasn’t fast enough. The body posts are more on the brittle side, and I was worried about them before I ran the car. That said, there are other body post options that provide more give and are easy enough to swap onto this chassis. Broken posts aside, this is a fun car and I’m looking forward to running it more (and harder) soon.
Guess the posts are plastic wouldn't aluminum ones be better? Where can you get better posts from as stated please? It's putting me right off buying this car!
@@rcnewb ha, ha. Was interested in a Rc rally myself... Like to watch video's and specs before purchasing one. This car has especially my interest even if its probably not the best rallycar you can buy
Injora has the motor rated as 3600kv in their specs section (www.injora.com/products/injora-brushless-micro-mbl32-esc-1621-purple-viper-motor-combo-for-1-18-trx4m).
@@rcnewb there’s no way, is there? That seems pretty high seeing that the top speed on 3s is only 34-37 mph. Even with a cheap 3s brushless 3300 kv setup from Amazon, guys are hitting easily 45+ mph.
I’d have to check how much space is left on the axles, but a wider wheel hex might be possible to give the wheels more width. Outside of the brittle nature of the body posts, this car should be able to withstand more than its share of bumps.
It's there 3rd 1/8 rally car 1st was the porsche 959. Great review. Best . And this car I'm convinced to buy now😮 Nice.size car too but stay away from humans😂
The body posts are definitely brittle, but that’s the only weak spot I’ve found on this car so-far. I suggest reaching out to Carisma to see if they can send replacement posts. I bought a set of aftermarket posts from Amazon and will be swapping them with the stock posts soon.
@@stonedecay Carisma customer service were very good and sent me some more posts out (i dont think these new posts which have the spigot for the longnitudinal brace have hit the uk yet)
Oh man, kind off crappy that these, or other rally cars dont have real good support. Never understand why more people don't buy them. You just gotta love rallycars
Great video! 👍Perfect camera work, a very nice car and a great location! 👏 🙏👏
Thank you, I appreciate the kind words!

Nice run.
Thanks!
Im thinking of pre ordering this how big is it compared to like a tt02 car if you have any. Just want to know if its bigger than it. Thanks
Yes its bigger. Its 1/8... About 230 wide, 285 to 300 wheelbase. Also hpi and cen are about that size... Tires are about 80mm high so more clearance
@@peteroosterhoff8850 Thank you man
Thanks for answering @mrfailtrades question!

Car come ready to play with batteries and control set, charger etc ?
You’ll have to supply batteries and a charger, but it’s ready to run outside of those things.
How long and wide is this model?
It’s 520.7mm (roughly) long and 231mm wide.
Does anyone know the actual kv of the motor?

hopefully Charisma fixes the quality issues and also spaces out the wheels to fill the proper width of the body!

Did the aftermarket posts fit?
Here in UK the std posts have been out of stock for a few months :(
