I came here to see the differences between this version and the normal Director’s Cut and the cast intro music here had me CRYING.
Barry's cheesy "Jill Sandwich" line (pun intended) is always a classic in video game dialogue lore
1:48:55 The greatest song you'll ever hear!!!
I've grown up with director's cut instead of the original, despite being more attached to this version of soundtrack, I gotta admit the ost in the original mostly outdo this one
btw, the mansion 2/F revisited theme in this version is pure gold
Oh the nostalgia! I've been playing all the remakes but there's something about these old games that's just awesome!
20 years of resident evil.
Good game
Gun shotgun game
25 years now 😭
25 years
Now it's 27 already
The game franchise that kept me up at night.. I was 7 and I still played this in the evening home alone to scare myself and be depressed when not playing it
I rememver having literal nightmares during those days.
Richard: ‘This house is dangerous.’
Jill: ‘You think?’
*Sees that it's the Director's Cut* Oh, boy. Can't wait to hear that blood-curdling basement soundtrack.
What about the 3rd floor Umbrella lab...!?
OMG that song........ sounds like a porn movie track for clowns
Philippe Patenaude 😂😂
The cutscenes are so awesome, and the voice that says ‘Resident Evil’ never sounded better.
barry : what is this?
barry : what? what is this?
barry : what is it?
Barry: (the nightmare before christmas) "What's this?" "What's this?" "There's zombies everywhere!" "What's this?" "Well lets just check upstairs!" "What's this?" " Our captain has gone missing, so has Chris, that seems unfair, please don't tell Claire!" "What's this?!" 😂
I played this game when I was 12 it scared the hell out of me at night. Even the intro is scary back then I don't know why but they dont make games like these as they use to
They don't do it that way because the cost of paying the actors and all the actual scenes increases the cost of selling the game. 🧟♀️🧟♂️🧟
"You were almost a JILL SANDWICH!"
You’re Right!
I love the blatant sarcasm in his voice. It's the best badly voiced thing in the game, next to "Stop It! Don't open that door!"
*Walks over a giant flaming venom snake*
"Found anything interesting?"
lol
2:32:00 "Chris! I'm gonna to look for help to get you out of your jail. You wait here okay?"
"Well, I was going to go to do shopping but since you asked, okay, I'm not going to go out of my jail and wait here fo you get me out of my jail."
Have a blessed 2021
@@jordanmcknight3760 Thanks! :-D
that intro is so damn cheesy you just can't help but love it.
JOSEEEEEEEEEPH!
😂
"No! Don't leave us..." 😂
Cheesy as hell now but back then, if was scary fun
The director’s cut is basically a “cleaned up” version of the original with arranged music, rearranged items, cleaner graphics and dual shock support.
SttOp It! dONt OPEN thAT DOOOoooOrR!
The master of unlocking
"You were almost a Jill sandwich."
And yet still not as bad as house of the dead which was next door.
God, the nostalgically TERRIBLE live action scenes and voice action.
Thank you so much for playing this, i never completed it because of the age puzzle in the room full of crows bad thing is my PS1 doesnt work and i dont have the game or anything else haha them old memories :D
Tyler Coleman ps1 emulator my friend
yep, i remember this game at my buddy house when we played this and it is still a great game today
This is the first time I've actually watched the original intro and cast sequence, and honestly it's way better than I'd imagined from how people describe it. It's campy, but that's the point. It's actually very effective and holds up better than the remake's intro. It's timeless.
As someone who has been speedrunning this game for a long time, watching a regular playthrough is actually really interesting ^^.
+Dimitri Vedma Their was an excessive amount of unnecessary backtracking and one extra shot bullet waste. Allot of the enemies could have just been dodged however I did enjoy his trolling to the first snake battle without getting bit. Not many people can go into that area unscathed lol.
True that. Some of my run did die here...
oh god 90's nostalgi
funny thing: i clicked the video and clicked always a step a head to keep a look in the good old memories. but funny thing is, everytime i skipped the video, i saw doors open, happend now 5 times in a row.
Me too lol. I was just thinking this same thing. If you try to fast forward through a room you'll end up on the next door loading screen A LOT
Seeing this years later, it's a LITTLE bit corny, especially the voice acting! But I'm REALLY glad they made a remaster of the first game!
Yep. They should do a remake of R.E. 2 and 3.
Daumbass, they've made a remake fifteen years ago, and remastered it in 2014.
Whose a dumbass? And I know they made a remake of Resident Evil 1!
Now you know, I see... by your previous comment, I figured you didn't. My bad, actually I am a dumbass :)
CooperGal24 that because most 90s games doesn't have well voice audio
1:13:33 , my god that song is soo melancoly and sad, you really feel the
loneliness and the sadness around the mansion
Gotta love the voice acting
I wish i could go back at time's again even when i was an kid but i miss those day's so bad
Me too nigga
I feel you dawg. Life was so simple back then bro
15:18
+thesecretofbeef Mmmm Jill-sandwich
it sounds more like "jibble"
you were almost a "jiggle" sandwich
"WESKERRRRRR!"
"What the hell is this?"
Wesker looks like Ryder in san andreas they have the sunglasses
I love that you didn't cut out the intro and everything. Fucking classic...!!
What you expect from this soundtrack: 1:48:50
What you get from this soundtrack: 28:14
As much as people popularize the basement tunes for saying it's everything wrong with the dual-shock SoundTrack, the ST has many interesting tunes that feel disorienting, isolating, nostalgic, and often times...orchestral.
@UCX_1V-xKH8Z8t3j641DJ9Mw Honestly, the save room's tune on RE0 may have been inspired by it.
Even to this day, I wonder how CAPCOM would look back on the idea of the Dual-Shock soundtrack...
Basement track isn't the worst. Listen to Black Tiger boss theme
This game is BROKEN!!!!!!!!!!! I am just kidding, anyway I thank you for playing this game, it's an instant classic for Playstation users and a special treat for the beginning of survival horror. Thank about it. Without Alone in the dark or Sweet Home, we wouldn't have this. despite the funny bad voice acting. Seeing zombies, and fighting unholy figures is a real fight t the finish. Even the undead dogs were scary with the breaking through the window scare factor. Too bad I never got to play the game with the bad voice acting. Also, the coolest part is that unlimited rocket launcher was made for those who fight and prevail on tough difficulty to earn such a high trophy. In conclusion, great game, tough as nails and scary as hell.
On my dad's copy of Bio Hazard, Japanese Resident Evil, on his Japanese PS1 when you played as Chris, he would have eight slots and would have the unlimited ammo rocket launcher.
Chris is our old partner ya KNOWW!!!!
For some odd reason like the live action cutscenes it shows the true horror in horror games
35:51 Moonlight Sonata by Beethoven.
Yes, that’s what it says.
WhAt A mAnsIoN!
Historic game .... The farting clowns haha.
Barry: Jill...have you found anything interesting?
Oh i dunno...did you not see the giant snake slowly dying in front of you?
in 2018 , i am playing this game and resident evil 2 , 3 ,4 ,5 ,6 ( i don't have 7 )
35:48 dat epic sound she make, gooood
Nostalgia at its finest
I'm here for the nostalgia trip.
1:40:42 what's in the other door at the top of the corridor?
Nothing too important. A blue hallway with some green herbs and a few zombies. Basically it's a way to get to the elevator from the top floor.
In chris story you can not pass this door because you don't have the code but the only way to access mansion lower area by go down the bit created by snake after it defeated meanwhile jill can open this door by get code from barry or going down to the same pit and can exit by barry rope
I played Resident Evil 1-5 and Code Veronica X ! Awesome Games!! 👍👍👍👍👍
I never quite noticed this before, but game developers really seem to have a fascination for doors and stairs, I mean every time you open one it's treated like a special event and so is the same when you go up or down stairs / ladders/elevators. About 1/3 of the game consists of doing just that. Yes I'm aware that it's because it loads the next screen / room, I'm just amused at how consistent they've been on using the same formula for so long. I love the sound effects, the character don't just open the door, he/she fucking slams it ! WhooshPrrr! WhooshPrrr!
FINALLY SOMEONE WHO KNOWS HOW TO PLAY THIS GAME
1:44:02 You so fucking precious when you...smile...
"We could get in trouble if we get lost" Ummmm yeah, so let's stay together? Yeah?
8:36
So, the music in this room.. Was this like remixed for the RE3 clock tower puzzle? It sounds creepily similar.
I had the DCDS version seen here for a while and I think I subconsciously thought the same thing. I was maybe even conscious of it, but it was just so long ago. I don't remember what happened to my original RE1 but I remember my cousin bought me this version for Christmas one year cause I had lost it or something. It was the only version you could get in stores anymore, but I ended up liking the DCDS soundtrack too. Except for the song at 1:48:55
Still no f*cking clue how that happened 🤣
Ooooh! At 1:09:19 the RE3 clock tower music again! Only it's not the RE3 clock tower puzzle music that you mentioned, but it's very similar to the general music for the RE3 clock tower after Jill wakes up from her T-Virus infection. I know I made this connection when I was younger, or I'm pretty sure I did anyway. Wow this is nostalgic.
Legendary acting.
Chris: NO! DON'T GO!
Helicopter: Uh bye
Barry: I can't believe.....
Barry: I can't believe.......... 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
2:04:33 ONRICO!
Ah back when Resident evil games had normal bright light bulbs than very low watts for the later games.
1:55:46 That great song.
OMFG NOSTALGIA!
Barry: that was too close you were almost a jibble sandwich. Jill: your right thanks for saving me barry. Barry Yeah Yeah
It's Forest... oh, my _COD!_
THe Voice Acting was simply and ABSOLUTELY terrible, but that's what makes it a CULT CLASSIC!!!!! ^_^
Despite voicing the English dub, all the voice actors were not native English speakers. They were living in Japan at the time.
They are from Canada.
Is this a walkthrough that picks up every item in every room?
This is a playthrough of the DS version (DS=Dual Shock, not Nintendo's portable). Why did they have to change the music, the original's is much more effective.
Legal reasons. The composer for the first version of RE was losing his hearing to the point where he couldn’t do it and had to hire a ghost composer.
Tony Stark No this isn’t the ds version. It’s the ntsc-u duel shock version for the ps1. I own them all. Ds version is also really good. Only music difference is in the save rooms between the original and ds versions. The sega Saturn version is the hardest to complete. It has the same music as the ps1 original. The original directors cut also has the same music but has a few different game set ups. If you go down to arranged and hold right the word turns green then everything you pick up is doubled! This version is exactly the same as the original directors cut aside from the soundtrack but also items are placed in different places to the original dc.
Damn!! Never realized the acting from this game would be so terrible. lol
Its not the actors fault, its the scripts so terrible
@@WeiAkuIrzuan No part of it is definitely the actors' fault. How do you fuck up the line "don't open that door"?
It’s funny though, it somehow gave the game more charm... Incredible experience regardless ...
I was today old when I found out you didn’t have to fight that damn giant snake...
Geeeeez...
I still think of all the locations here in terms of the remake. Like "ah, this is that room from REmake"
1:18:36 *_A blank shot? How did you miss the target?_* 😮
On what system was this game played? It looks very sharp, even for PS3. PS One as it says the tittle? By the way, at 11:18 a perfect circle can be seen... That's great. Original format all the way!
🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰Nostalgic, 4:00 that is the music of Director's cut.
The music after you come back to mansion was always my favorite but all the zombies were replaced with hunters 😭 I was like 7 years old scared to death trying to not get my head cut off.
15:18
Classic line.
another classic game great....
I knew the basement theme in this version of RE was bad, but I didn't know that _all_ the music was so completely _broken._
^^; It was the 90's when the game was first made. Music's gotten better since then when newer RE games were made!
The main hall theme and the mansion hallway theme to me are the only decent tracks on this soundtrack. The original OST reigns supreme.
the soundtrack when she returns to the mansion fighting hunters from elevator is awesome.
1:38:50 is there too
I have never seen this ending where you don’t fight the tyrant at the hella port and berry dying
I know it's an old game (I play old games myself), but was RE really so blurry? I almost can't see a thing!
320p
Stop it don't open that door
But Chris is......BOOM!!!
this resident evil was just to hilarious I mean the voice acting is just all kinds of wrong but hey it was the 90's nothing you can do about it
It was also when video games started using actual voice acting. Up til then you had garbled 16bit sound bites of voices. They were breaking new ground, so of course you're going to have bumps in the road. But it also adds that B horror movie charm to it.
+moviemetalhead I understand but still it was just hilarious though it was like they weren't really putting much effort into it
So bizzarr
2:38:58 - I imagine this theme was a lot more...spirited and energetic than the original...hahaha. It's not even scary, just exciting and dramatic. XD
1:38:13
And Jill is confronted with a Final Fantasy bazaar to buy weapons and armor
"There is serum.. oh no, I should've brought some with me" LMAO..
the acting in the beginning was really bad, but the voice acting makes it seem even worse now.. But I guess we didn't pay much attention to that back then :)
12:24 I thought somebody called me for CS:GO match
One last thing: 1:32:41 YES you're RIGHT.
So far, creepiest game ever. Worse than fnaf by a long shot.
will it play on a PS 2 SYSTEM AS WELL THIS GAME?
+/-
toni Ok cool thanx for the info ,very helpful.
+/-
toni Cool thanx.
RE 1 was first game is ever played & actually finished & was cleaning out my closet & found the game so I thought I'd give it another try years later.
I love resident evil
Ah...I prefer the intro where they got that cheesy "I got a shotgun" thing in the beginning.
What exactly are the "Director's Cut" parts which differ from the initial release?
Barry's death makes me cry 😭😭😭
u play in psone or a simultador? (yap, I know that's a idiot question)
This game makes re 4 and all RE after it look like shit
Why are you so good at fighting the hunters...
2:23:58 is that image of the Cerberus a still from the opening movie?!??!?! LMAO
The OST is not as bad as people make it out to be. Actually like it.
It is trash
i love this game
Jill really couldn't get that crank without those steps?
me and probably 10000 people switched to other videos after the barrage of ADs at the begining
14:33
Whenever you want barry
I know there's a remake already but I want a remake in the style of the RE2 remake with the option to use all of the original soundbytes from this game.
