I am right there with you. I feel like I peaked right before I got hurt and now I am not as good. Hitting that plateau sucks but we just have to remember to keep rolling for fun. It's not just about progression. You got a few nice looking royales in there! Just keep rollin!
Hey, thanks for it. I kind of know on top of my mind "it is about fun", but my brain was "you suck mate, you were better before". Meanwhile, I did a lot of skating this year. At least 6 hours every week, sometimes more like 12. It felt like it should have made me stronger, better, etc. Torn meniscus (now confirmed by MRI) is not helping either. But I did not want to make it an excuse. I can still do a lot until I make a deeper squat. Anyways, after this session, my good feeling came back. I know that I have not only "not lost it", but I am also a better skater than before. Now I can continue to just keep rolling in peace with myself :)
Inline Struggle oh that one was filmed with a great camera and by a pro photographer - it is always a pleasure to edit those :) the only problem was that I have not pluged in the mic so no sound was recorded 😂
Oh, I have noticed that. It is not completely counter-intuitive as it is easier to keep the balance with speed. But when I miss at least half of my grinds or more - it gets very painful with a lot of speed :D
Rolling Family You have a point there. Waiting on a pair of Adapt Brutales after not having skated for almost two decades. Will be fun to have wheels under my feet again. Let’s see if my body agrees.
Troels Nørgaard I found my brain knowing how to skate when I came back last year, but the body was lagging behind :D and 10 months into it still my knees hurt, etc. I do not remember having that when I was a kid. Despite that - it is SO much fun! As much as back then. And brutales should be very good skates. Fingers crossed they fit you well.
Thanks, Jokubai! We did not upload one last week, true :) Hopefully, we will keep at it now. Be sure to check our Instagram as we post some shorter vids there: instagram.com/rollfamroll/
Great video! I learned grinds the wrong way round and did souls first and I've always found groove tricks harder since then. Whenever I try royales/frontsides I seem to put too much weight on my back foot naturally and it makes me slip out. If I remember and push down more on my leading foot I seem to stay on a bit better. I dunno if that's what you're meant to do, but it's what I've found from my limited experience. Keep it up!
Thanks mate! I do not think there is a right or wrong way :) I struggle to lock soul. I find groove tricks easier, but I never trust my soul to lock. It became a bit better recently on rounded coping/rail. These ledges are a bit rounded - even harder to lock. On frontside your weight should be more or less equally distributed, I think. It is like kite surfing. Snowboarding and similar. I guess that is why I found them easier :)
@@VandKoala In my opinion rails are definitely easier for all grinds. I don't have any good practice rails near me, so generally have to skate ledges like you are in this video. I can imagine a curve ledge it would be easier for you soul to come off. That does make sense about equal weight I don't know why I find I automatically put most of my weight on my back foot. 🤷♂️ That'll be something for me to practice when I can start skating again. I hate being injured! Getting so impatient!
@@chilli-iceolive-abode2447 Yeah, I waws spoiled with round coping :) These ledges have aluminum angle on them, that is a bit lower than the concrete in many places and that does not help to lock at all. I know that my favorite skatepark is about to finish outdoor expansion and it will be lots of ledges. Will practice there much more! Being injured sucks a lot. Wish you a quick recovery mate!
Yo m8 you are not stalled in your progression i see that everytime i see you in brande your cofidence on the skates is definetly better. You need somebody to push you otter than yourself. This is an open invitation to come join us other "oldboys" in brande thursday evening we have some good sessions where we can push and support each other. Or pm me and we meet for a sesh street or park up to you. See you hang in there its just a bump on the curb🤘
Mario 90 for me 100% SLs are better. Simply because how much taller is the front of the boot. Many people complain shifts press top of the foot. And many people do not trust the soul changing system. I had no issues with it though 🙄 but SLs are 100% more comfortable for me.
@@VandKoala thank you for your quick response! I skate the rollerblade njteam which are too tall for my feet. I had to add a double inner soul and further foam spacer to keep my foot stable. I kind of prefer the SL as well but maybe the shift would be a better fit for me 🤔 I'd like to try them out on but locoskates here in UK is still shut😒
Thanks for advice bro. I am working on it, but I find it hard to go low if my soul does not lock. It will slip out... I also can only squat to a 90degree angle with my torn medial meniscus. But I do not even get to 90, I know. I will try to remember next time to spread those legs for royales. Completely forgot about it today. Had many falls on the butt :)

Keep going man, progression will always peak and trough but as long as your putting on skates and having fun we want to see the videos!
Thanks for the support mate. I will be putting them on. And not only me. All 4 of us.
I think I just got another idea for a video :) Thanks!
@@VandKoala thate awesome man! Look forward to it! 🤙
I loved the last clip so creative. I feel I have plateaued as well but lets keep going for it. 🤘🏼

Can be counter intuitive, but more speed can make it easier to keep grinds locked in.

Nice work revisiting your grinds. Great sequence/line at the end!

Which skate do you thinks is better.. the RazorSL or the shift 2? Thanks

Mario 90 it is tricky as everyone has different feet :) But if you have a very low foot you might like the shifts.
try to stay much lower while grinding. also u need to spread ur legs more - especially for royals
