For better understanding, this Olympic park area used to be a part of the old capital region (BC 18 to AD 475) of Baek-Je (BC 18 to AD 660),
one of three kingdoms in Korea, before unification in AD 668 by Shilla . That's why this park is humongous as the park contains some walls and remnants of that kingdom.
You see the water stream? That is the moat around very old earthen fortress which stretches out several kilmeters.

    1. That 'Thin-sliced-root-thingy' inside the Gimbap is called 'Burdock(우엉)'
    2. Reason why Korea is enjoying the Cleanest breathing air for these couple of years..?
    Simple, China factory's shutdown.
    3. Are you sure that you are NOT from Arirang TV or something like that? (Sooooo much Quality & Infos)...감사합니다, 수고 많으셨습니다 ^^

Was looking at a hotel close to the park for our one day of exploring that area…..but it seems really easy to take a train in. Any helpful hints if staying near the Hanok Village.

Hi Monica, subway system is pretty easy. Hotels in this area can be tricky unless you choose Lotte hotel Jamsil, I don't think there are not very many decent ones. There are several stops to get to the park, but we suggest you to go to line no.8 (pink line) Mongchontoseong station. Or, you can get off at Jamsil station and walk. We suggest you to download Naver Map app, it's in English and will tell you exactly where to go. At Mongchontoseong stn, you will be right in front of the World Peace Gate. If you watch our next video, we went to really good Korean restaurant right in front of that gate. Highly recommended. Best of luck to you!

Those cold noodles looked delicious, but I can almost guarantee I'd prefer the South Korean version. My favorite part is the super chewy noodle, and being able to add extra heat and mustard to the broth!
I'd definitely still try this version though. 😊

Haha yes, regular Korean naengmyeon has stronger flavor for sure. But I think this one is one of those you may not fall in love at first, but you think about it next day and go back for more. I've heard stories of people who did not like it at all at first then ended up getting addicted to it. haha You should come and give it a try!

Hodu had a EU passport so other than doing bloodwork for rabies and necessary vaccines, etc it wasn't too bad. We explain a bit during our last video but as long as you have the paperwork, it was pretty smooth.
