Ratty was the trance alter ego of the massive German techno and hardstyle band Scooter, they only ever released a couple of tracks under this name, and Sunrise was by far the biggest.
In typical style of the guys behind Scooter, the vocals were ripped off from Lost Witness' Song To The Siren with a choir boy singing instead of a female.
The most disturbing thing about this track was the official music video which featured one of the band members with a rat's head chasing a little boy around a maze!!!

Oh dear, complete swing and a miss.
3 of them in fact.
Firstly, the lyrics predate both Ratty and Lost witness by about 3 decades, Tim Buckley first sang that song in 1970, and many people had covered it before Ratty or Lost Witness.
secondly, it would be impossible for Ratty to have ripped the Lost Witness vocals because ratty released their version 2 years before Lost Witness released his.
Thirdly, that's not a choir boy singing, its Nicole, the wife of Hendrik, the producer for Ratty and most of Scooters tunes.

Loved this track for years didnt know it was by scooter but upon finding out and listening again you can tell by the whole structure and bass synths etc.... you can almost hear him somewhere lurking in the backround lol. I think i've got this on vinyl- i'm pretty sure i have i wouldn't have missed this back in the day i've got pretty much everything else from this time in trance. I love this track i just didn't realise i was loving scooter before now!!

Apparently it's Nicole Sukar, wife of Hendrik, the producer for Ratty and Scooter. She recorded this vocal for this track.
It's definitely not hardcore......this tune is one of the best out, it's hard to find a vocal trance tune better than this it's just too good.
