Javelin throw is an individual track & field event where one individual from any country tries to stand out top & best among a group of other individual contestants of different nationalities. In such events (unlike team events) there're not teams of two different countries contesting directly with each other to emerge out victorious. So buycotting such individual events is senseless & also not required. But team sports/events like cricket, hockey & kabbadi require direct contest between the teams of two different countries which can be buycotted if possible specially cricket because cricket matches between India & Paxtan benefits Paxtan in multiple ways & also because we can buycott seeing our clout in the sport.
Boycotting cricket is possible and people are demanding it because we (BCCI) controls the ICC and most amount of attention is given to the cricket in both India and pakistan. If you ask a pakistani to name the guy who won 2nd place in javelin, I can pretty much bet they can't.

Cricket is the largest revenue generator for Pakistan in the field of sports, so its better strike right there. Sham Bhai ne sahi kaha, in Cricket we have stopped playing against Pakistan (Bilaterally), we have stopped sending our cricketers and even Hockey Team (for those who don't know) have stopped playing with Pakistan. But in Tournaments where 20-30 countries are playing we cannot simply bound our athletes progress, which they had worked for their whole life.
Now when the Asia Cup was being held in Pakistan BCCI was boycotting the whole tournament, but ACC held it in Sri Lanka. Boycott brigade says that we should stop playing against Pakistan, but upto which extent stop Players from International Event and just hold Domestic Event and declare these Athletes as the Champion in the whole World.
Ok you Boycotted the Sports, but when Indians work in MNC which also Employees from Pakistan working with you side by side, will you ask your boss to Transfer yourself or him/her from the Office just because he belongs to Pakistan. Because then Boycott Brigade will say these NRI/Indians are making profit with Pakistan.

@shamsharmashowglobal - I agree that our current government political and military response will be brutal as it has been on previous occasions (i.e. balakot etc) also with respect to our ISR capabilities enhancement which they have done more after 2014. But now the new routes being used (Nepal and Punjab routes) also needs to be under surveillance more and more. But also, I agree BHARAT needs to STOP playing cricket with Pakistan - Why Cricket is the focus and not other sports that much ?- Reason being difference in the viewership/money/legitimization that Pakistan gets when we play cricket with them since that is the main popular sports being consumed by both nations which GIVES THE PERCEPTION TO THE PAKISTAN PUBLIC that their country when we play cricket with them IS THAT PAKISTAN IS EQUAL TO BHARAT (which it is not based on hard Data/facts/scientific achievements- space, PHARMA, other high-tech sectors, size of land, population, economy, military etc. INDIA is 11 times an economy that of Pakistan in pure GDP terms much more in PPP terms) and same wrong confidence/perception is also reflected in their pubilic regarding image of Pakistan Army which in recent times have diluted a bit due to their internal issues (e.g Imran Khan arrests, riots, TTP attacks etc) and action on their own people. But still BHARAT NEEDS TO IGNORE/DELEGITIMIZE PAKISTAN at all such forums possible including CRICKET where you have the MONOPOLY (80% ICC revenue comes from BHARAT) then use it even if it is needed to twist ICC rules. IGNORE, IGNORE and MAKE THEM IRRELEVANT AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE at all forums (which Indian government is doing at foreign policy level by completely ignoring them) including their youtube channels etc. PAKISTAN IS NOT EQUAL TO BHARAT in any sense but playing cricket LEGITIMIZES and allows their common citizen to have that false assumption and false confidence.
