I've been having a lot of fun with simic/sultai terror in bo1, even though it seems a bit soft to a number of the decks I run into so far. Love your videos for getting a better sense of how to approach standard deck building after a very long time away from the game
Thanks for the video. And good on you for making the charity donation! I've been brewing up a storm in Alchemy BO1 recently. Got into Mythic #300s yesterday playing a bunch of different decks. To pick one, I'd go with an Izzet Ojer Axonil deck I brewed (with Razorkin Needlehead etc.).
So my favorite deck was Hunt master Birthing Pod way back during the first Innistrad(probably spelt that wrong) block. Going Bird into pod into was so fun. You could sad the bird you could play a 3-4 CMC and then sac it for more value. Then it just got bonkers with Bonfire during that last set of the block.
I guess I should’ve posted to this one since I play mostly BO1. I’ve been having fun with different variations or Harmless Offering/Demonic Pact combo.
On the Mono white tokens I also thought 3 rest in peace was way too much, but there are a lot of reanimator decks, zombify does a lot for a little cost. I don't know, but I think it might not be that bad to run the 3. Anyways, thanks for your content!

Nowadays I've been trying to put a different deck (other than dimir midrange) together, but the wildcards are so scarce I've been a bit stuck on what to build. I can craft the demon package for monoblack but not sure if I should go for that or try a different color instead, like azorius auras. Not feeling like playing mono red, tho.
Demon package would be more flexible to going dimir or golgari while in explorer package is used in rakdos version. Azorius auras will have overlap in the manabase but the creatures only work in that shell

I haven't run into a bunch of aggro but auzorious control has been doing so much for me. No more lies, temporary lockdown, urzas sylex and sunfall do so much in this meta and Jace and soul guide lantern destroy reanimater and simic terror

Both mono red and mono black are very strong. The enchantment deck is more auras prowess in Boros shell or enchantment through zur overlord domain but that plays more controlling
Trying to get as high ranked possible FTP with a mono blue control 12x counters 12x draw 8x return permanent 8x creatures (4 dijhin 4 crab) 20x islands Its a nightmare but has a rly hard time vs ultra fast agro red /red white but im having lot of fun
Ya it’s got grind potential but can suffer vs red if you can’t make a big lifelinker or get a timely sheltered. Can be adjusted with bounce cards or smite
Kind of interesting to see Turn Inside Out, and Lightning Helix IGNORED in the red burn decks. Lightning Helix and some Mirrex would be my idea to bend the mono red meta.
Manabase is too inconsistent for Boros I find. While mirrex helps for the turn it then hurts not producing any color and doesn’t allow the color to work on opponent turn
There are more burn oriented versions that run both Lightning Helix and Boros Charm too. Not having to worry about the mana is nice. There are times where you can close out a game against a midrange deck as fast as possible by casting three one mana spells like a discounted Witchstalker's Frenzy, a Monstruous Rage, and a Shock or Burst Lightning.
@MTGJoe Very happy and thankful, but the sad truth is that right now I don't have time to play. So I think it will be of better use for someone else. So give it to someone else, it can be an early Christmas gift. :)
You need a certain amount of white producing lands to consistently cast your spells. You can’t play basic plains due to needing red on turn 1 and potentially 2 red on turn 2
Dimir control in timeless BO3 is a masterpiece. I love this deck so much. Belcher? Go to hell, I'll counter all your stuff. Boros energy? I'll kill everything you got. Sideboard is very good, because you have grave hate, toxic deluge, surgical extraction to get rid of tour opponent's win con and so on

I was thinking this too. It can also hose the Occulus/Hauthi Djinn deck, plus other there plenty of Unstoppable Slashers around.
My favorite deck right now has to be selesnya "we have bogles at home" auras with toadstool admirer and armored armadillo

Orzhov Life gain has been pretty cool to pilot in standard Bo3. For Bo1, I use Mono Red just to level up a bit. I feel kinda dirty using it though 😆

Quick N Toast back in 2008! Something super exciting about turn 3 convoke mulldrifter turn 4 end of their turn makeshift mannequin mulldrifter.
Currently skeletons have served me well !
Currently, I like mono black midrange the most.
I’m tempted to tweak it slightly so it has a chance again reanimating or wide strategies.
