      Max Fried was the wrong choice for the most disappointing player on the Braves. Yes he was terrible to start the season but he was clearly hurt. He went on the IL and came back and has now dominated 2 games in a row. The real Fried is back and has been for over a week. Not to mention Max Fried is paid very little. The most disappointing Brave is Charlie Morton. The Braves signed him for $15 million a year and at his best is a #5 starter up to this point and there is no sign his struggles are going to end. The most disappointing on the Yankees so far, has been Clint Frazier. Guy ripped every time he played for 4 years. Suddenly, he gets the starting spot in LF & he bats .150..
    Gleyber’s offensive numbers started to take a hit as soon as he was moved to SS.. His offense & defense.. He played a great 2B. I love Cashman, but it still blows my mind that they didn’t resign Didi. Extremely clutch, much needed lefty bat, great defensively! Keep Didi at SS, Gleyber at 2B, LeMahieu at 1B. That’s our best defense & worked great in 2019. I said it in the off-season, Voit should’ve been traded for a good lefty bat & a starter. Voit’s stock will never be that high again & as good as he’s been, he’s someone that’s replaceable. Could’ve signed Carlos Santana’s lefty bat..

    Gleyber Torres heard you talking shit. Dude has been on fire the past couple of weeks. Hitting for a lot more contact and not worrying so much about his power numbers. He's not a 38 homer guy like the outlier season led him to believe, and I'm glad he's taking a more contact approach.

  • @raalaan9092
    @raalaan9092 3 года назад

    The issue with Gleyber is his swing mechanics. He has a ton of natural talent and that shows during his usually lengthy hot streaks, but his long leg kick is really easy to mistime and that's what always seems to cost him when cold. He's heating up again which is a good sign, but for him to keep relatively hot imo it makes sense to shorten up his swing so as to eliminate his reliance on a let kick

    As a Giants fan, I think Wilmer Flores has been more of a disappointment than Mauricio Dubon. Flores has always been a decent hitter with good power and the Giants expected him to be a good utility player that can put the bat on the ball, but this year has been rough for him. He’s only hitting .198 with 2 home runs and 12 RBIs. Dubon is off to a slow start, but I wasn’t expecting that much from him. I’m way more disappointed with the start of Wilmer Flores than Mauricio Dubon

    As for players outperforming their expectations, Nick Pivetta is having a real solid start for the Red Sox. Watching him pitch for the Phillies the last 4 seasons, he never looked dominant. In 2020, he was awful. Lost his starting pitching roll (in a rotation with a real bad back end), moved to the bullpen, did awful there. The Phillies released him when his ERA soared over the 15 mark. Now he's getting quality starts one after the other in Boston
