In this video, I will show you Chopin's iconic Black Keys Etude with technical aspects, tips, exercises and everything else you need to master this challenging Etude, Op. 10 No. 5.
This Chopin Etude is most famously recognised, even by non pianists for its distinct melody and pattern.

@Dominic Johnson personally I prefer a tectonic plate to play this piece

Practically got it down except for the ending. Im finding it IMPOSSIBLE to know which hand to be looking at! Im pretty sure it’ll figure itself out with enough practice though.

Sorry, i posted this without seeing the end of the video. Seeing you use 3 and 5th finger for all of the accented notes in right hand bar 79 onwards helped me a lot! I was mistakenly trying to alternate 3,5 and 4,5 ❤

That ascending figure is the worst. Q: Why does everyone insist on playing this way faster than marked?

Most likely because a stretto can be followed by a more free rubato later on

do you know John Bingham's interpretation of the chopin etudes? I would like to see a review or reference from an expert like you. It is mindblowing especially the quieter etudes. By far the best op 10 no3 and no7 i've heard too. Sadly he isn't well known.

Thanks, I have listened to some of his etudes recordings now. While I can say that that I like his musical aspects when he performs 10 3 and 10 6 (for example) with the necessary depth, I can't say the same about his technique (10 2, 25 6) which seems below par for others who have recorded the Etudes cycle.

@@PianoTechSupport I agree. For virtuosity I prefer cziffra though. (not that he has the most 'chopin-istic' interpretation of the etudes)
