This is great. I used to collect these. As a point of interest, the animatronics on the old oles were insane. The old House of Wax, Dracula's Castle, Mausoleum, The Lighthouse of Doom... they all have like 6 or 7 different moving characters or elements. I still have them all in storage. Very cool stuff.
I have the first year, no animatronics. Plus the next 4/5 years til I ran out of room.
It is so amazing to see two older people on RUclips continuing to live the lifestyle they love and not caving in to any pressure to ‘conform’ and start living as society expects ppl to at a certain age. These guys are just living and loving exactly as they did their whole lives, and this is something we should ALL be doing, no matter what we may be into. Life is for living your dreams. Also this is one of the most interesting channels I’ve seen in a long time 😊

Just adore Lemax. Sadly we don’t get the Halloween stuff over in the U.K. ( just the Christmas stuff ) and I’ve always been jealous of the fact you guys can get it.

I really enjoy your channel!! I was a kid trick or treating in the 80's. My late grandmother made my costume and my brothers. Your are so right trick or treating till all the porch lights were turned off!!
I've honestly never seen these before, I never knew they existed, I thought the thumbnail had something to do with the model town from beatlejuice. I'd have loved these as a kid.
When you said Trick R Treating with your pillow case....that hit hard. The memories :) also we walked everywhere. Never took the car.

I love that you guys have such a passion for your interest. I used to have a passion for things like this and other things but I have to say "life" has mostly beaten all passion out of me unfortunately, but watching your videos is so enjoyable and I can live vicariously at least lol.

Recovering from emergency surgery and not trying to have self-pity, but have had severe physical problems for the last 20 years through no fault of my own. It sucks. Halloween in the 80s was the best. Quite a few times we made our own costumes which was always so much fun!!! Sometimes you had to use this thing called "imagination".

a big piece of who i am overall is deeply connected with the love of halloween, as my single mother worked serveral jobs and while everyone took their holidays around christmas, my mama got hers around halloween. instead of christmas, we did halloween. she handmade every single one of my costumes, until i was about 17 and i made my first. i wasnt much into trick or treating, but like a religion, i knew what i was going to be for halloween almost a full year before 😂
im from a small city in saskatchewan, canada and im forever grateful as an artist, but also a halloween fan that we have a michaels here. everytime i walk in, its like cheers, everyone knows me 😂 my ma and i began to collect spookytown a few years, only one piece a year as we didnt have much money either. but now, with my small art business doing alright, and the folks at michaels loving us with coupons {we're so spoiled !!} we have quite a large town building in our livingroom every september to october.
i normally tend to love every single video of yours but this one holds an even closer meaning to me. love it 🖤

Well you two are just adorable. That looked like such fun. I haven't seen those in the U.K. just as well I suppose, I have too many scary toys already but I would love any or all of those. I am about to start on all my Halloween makes, pumpkin headed dolls and painted fans this year I think.
I too always wanted to assemble a spooky town but never got around to it. Just not the space alas. That said this was so cool getting to vicariously build it along with you two. The Lemax folks really pay attention to all the little details. They just have to be true fans of Halloween themselves to create such cool stuff as this.

That is a great idea! Shelves all around the room along the wall, depending on your space. When you walk in the room, it might even feel you are walking into a creepy little miniature world, which would be fun 🎃 If it is a guest room, you can cover any furniture or items not in use in black sheets, so that the village is the main decor when you walk in.

Growing up in 80’s was the best times of my life. Your town is like the Gina Davis & Alec Baldwin set up from Beetlejuice. Perhaps a location you may want to visit sometime.
Holloween was my favorite holiday growing up. Our house was all decked out and we had this long driveway where we would hang decorations on the trees.

Hi Michael and Jessica :) That was fun :) I could see my self walking amongst the different shops and riding the flying bats . I would then go for a stroll amongst the trick-or-treating ghosts and ghouls and fiinish the evening with a leisurely walk in among the gravestones before sitting in my front room with a cup of apple cider ,a piece of pumpkin pie and a Grimlifecollective marathon on my laptop .......Happy Halloween :)

I was a kid in the seventies. We went to the drugstore and picked out those vinyl costumes which were hot as hell to wear and you never wore them again. In the eighties, I'd lie in a coffin, stuff my costume with newspaper to trick the treaters in thinking I was fake, and jump out at the right opportunity. (As a side note, high school kids were more frightened than younger kids). Happy Halloween Grimmlife!

Your town turned out so cute! Every time I go to Michaels during Halloween I go and look at all the different buildings and accessories. Living in Canada though everything is super expensive. This also now makes me want to watch the Halloweentown series.

A modern day duo one-upping or overtaking what has been ruled by Svengoolie, Michael and Jessica embody today's fascination with horror and spooky and eerie and the unexplainable. I'd pay to watch a weekly show with you two a'la MST3K + Elvira + Ancient Aliens + road trip footage + behind-the-backdrop insider horror creator secrets. Instead of rubber chickens, maybe rubber baby dolls with missing eyes and jet black hair and tattered gossamer gowns. We need to start a GOFUNDME, or a campaign reel shopped to streaming companies!
Ps: they need to make a graveyard set where a few graves are disturbed, coffins opened, floaty ghosts, dead trees hanging over the mausoleum...

Goodness! While putting up fall decorations and trying to harness myself from putting up Sooky Town, this shows up on RUclips. I'm right there with you about the yearning to buy this stuff as a kid but we couldn't afford it. I'm making up for it now and have been collecting since 2007. Glad you're living your dream. BTW, packing those pieces in the box can be a doozy. Good luck

I love seeing what Lemax puts out every year in this collection. You really have to snag them super early because they do tend to sell out quickly. Just wish they were still built as good as the old ones. The quality has really gone down hill over the years.
Watching this again, and it's like watching two kids re-living their childhood again creating this awesome town. We do have Michaels stores here in Ontario, and yes, super expensive
