Are you using air dry or oven bake clay? I've heard if it's air dry you can seal the clay just before it's fully dry so it won't crack. (Just what I've heard, don't know if it works) But otherwise I'd try a different brand of clay. I have recommendations if you want! But if it's oven bake clay you can lower the temp of the oven and minimize the time they are baking. Hope this helps!
