(Theatre professional here) Those prop cigarettes are filled with powder so that when you blow into them "smoke" comes out. It's fairly convincing. ;)
Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe the only thing with the fake ones is you can only hold the "smoke" in your mouth rather than actually inhaling it.

My Dad started buying me cigs when I was 12. Still hooked on them and I am 40. Except now I have COPD and can hardly breath. 100% not worth the health issues.

Sort of same for me, I was 13 tho. Quit smoking in my 20s, then picked it up again 10 years later (during those 10 years I used Snus to cope with the nicotine urges), 40 now, not happy about the nicotine. Will always try to tell people about the negative sides of inhaling any smoke that is burned, nicotine is the small issue actually.

I like how whenever people talk about fake cigarettes they always say “Don’t worry, there’s no nicotine in them…” I’d be more concerned about the rat poison that’s in cigarettes than the nicotine🤣
Yeah, people always talk about the nicotine like it's the worst substance in it, no it's all the carcinogenic substances in it that are worse.

I would also put Carbon Dioxide near the top of that list.

A lot of the ones you're complaining about acknowledge that they can't force their significant others to quit, but who says they have to stay with them or tolerate it thus destroying their integrity? Emotion suppression is taken so far that a lot say to live correctly you have to be apathetic, emotionless, and passive to everything. In fact, I think he can be too passive but nothing I'd call alarming.
Yeah some of them act like they’ve just killed someone lmao. If my partner wanted to smoke, go for it. It’s my choice if they want that. There’s worse things going on in the world.
You know. The fact that so many just compare it to murder or even bring it up despite it having nothing to do with it or the fact that you keep trying to deflect it says it's mainly utter apathy or even a total lack of self-preservation that keeps you on the drug. So many who were once addicted to alcohol, cigarettes, and vapes say that quitting is such a grueling and lengthy process that avoiding any addiction is best and an assertive or even aggressive response is what it might take to prevent one. It's why some make it a dealbreaker in relationships. In the end, apathy is often now just a mask to hide fear.

You looked like a first time smoker, trying to smoke hahahah you did good.
As someone who has been an on and off smoker for a decade this was hard to watch, but also ridiculously innocent. The continuous smoke coming out (or lack thereof from this product) would be a big giveaway, and along with that would be the most obvious smell. Which Jack did realize somewhat early on. And the icing on the cake was trying to use one of those stick lighters. Every smoker has used one to light up when we lose our regular one or it runs out of fuel, but you'd have a fresh regular lighter if you had just bought your first pack of cigs.
