Also he was smiling and basically laughing at her face about the decision he made to not inform her that he was leaving. How would this be a good demonstration of healthy communication. Listen, I love how she expressed herself and didn’t start swinging or cursing or throwing things. THIS IS HOW YOU COMMUNICATE. Well, considering all my past traumas I thought I was bad at communicating in relationships. Turns out, I communicates like Meghan, and everyone in the comments agrees this is good communication. That is actually really heartening to know ❤.
Playing mind games with each other for entertainment purposes is pretty distressing to me. You know the cute little "she can't get 1 thing from the store" or starbucks- silly videos are endearing, but this was a pretty serious "Prank". I got so choked up watching her go through the emotions that I can only imagine how hurt she actually felt at the time. Manipulation like this is just not healthy and put her on an emotional roller coaster ride 😟. If done frequently enough, trust is going to start to faulter. That freely given forgiveness is being taken for granted.

My actual husband did this to me multiple times. He also went on work trips without warning (he knew weeks in advance) and one time I didn't know til he didn't come home that night. It was an extremely helpless and terrible feeling. He is now my ex.

Is anyone else appreciating how incredibly healthy this is? Like, the fact that it's a prank means you get to test drive, or have the discussion about something like communication WITHOUT there actually being a transgression. My first instinct was, "damn, that's really messed up to do that to your spouse, just for views and reactions" but thinking about it... it's actually better that it happened as a prank than if it had actually been real.

Jack did a prank similar to this before they got married where he said he changed the date of their wedding without communicating it with her. She rightfully got very upset because a lot of shit goes into planning a wedding. And so if you changed one of those huge key details then you have to change a a thousand other things. And certain things might not even be possible to change because of the individual businesses having their own time constraints, like the venue my might not have that day available for them.
It really upsets me when they do these types of pranks because putting your partner in distress shouldn't be used as content.
