Thank you for creating such an informative tutorial on the basics of using Solid Edge. Your clear explanations and detailed demonstrations were incredibly helpful. Best regards! 2nd year mechatronics student.
@Yogicos87 Thank you so much for the feedback. I wish you all the best. I used to teach Mechatronics and Robotics back in the eighties as part of the Synthesis Coalition (1982-1990).
Excellent tutorial I've just started to use solid edge after downloading it about a year ago. I was going to use it to make replacement parts on my 3D printer for when I repair old obsolete electronic equipment with broken and missing parts. Having just spent about 2hours not drawing a Knob for a potentiometer and banging my head on the table I decided to watch videos instead My mistake was not locking the plane so my holes slots and adjustment to the shape weren't where I thought they'd be so you then cant extrude them. Having said that in my 2 hrs I did actually manage to model the knob dimensionally correct but had no idea how to create the 12 ribs (at 30 degree spacing similar to a splined shaft) around the outside, which is when the head banging started. However there where some great tips in this video which will help me get to the point where the headbanging starts in 15 minutes instead of 3 hours so thanks!
Thank you so much for the feedback. I am glad you found it useful. In the meantime, please feel free to email me at mohamed.seif@aamu.edu about any difficulties you are facing. I wish you all the best. BTW, there is a video in my channel about creating different patterns. I believe you will find it useful.
best video on the solid edge I was finding a video for learning solid edge because I was having difficulty in making models but this video gave me all the necessary information on this with some practice loved this video ❤❤. Really grateful sir😍
An excellent video for someone, like me, with absolutely no experience using Solid Edge. Well structured and unhurried. Just what I needed. So thank you for making it available to us. I do have a couple of comments, which I hope are helpful. I had one section I struggled with initially, namely the use of the “Trim” command at 6:45. Because the menu is not visible at this point, it was quite some time before I found the right command to use. At 18:45 the viewing mode changes to rotate the drawing, and the mouse cursor changes accordingly. How did you do that?
I have been adviced not to use circle option for holes but actually the hole option because it is easier to correct if the holes need to be changed (type, depth, diameter etc)
The problem with your tutorial is that it looks nothing like my interface (brand new install). So, I can't do anything you are doing using the commands you are using. No of anyone who has a better tutorial??
So a tutorial for absolute beginners, start by telling me that I need to be in synchronous, but doesn´t tell me how to do that. I also don´t even have the navigation tree thingy on the left
I am so sorry for the confusion. I will post a video on how to do that. Thanks for pointing out this issue. I witnessed in my class a lot of students asking the same questions.
@drmseif Hello ! I have been watching your tutorials quite long ago. and now back to refresh my knowledge. I forgot almost everyting, or so I thaught, untill I watched one of your new tutorials, everything came back at once. One thing though. Is it possible that you can include some of your old tutorials, and add something to make some assemblies ? Thank you for your effort and good tutorials..
If you still are accepting viewers' files,I have a simple shape that needs - I think - two planes to create it. I tried everything from your tutorials but was unable to draw it. The only way I can see it being drawn is in two parts, but I would love to have it in one piece. How can I send it to you?
It's been a real journey finding good narrated videos for solid edge. Thank you.
