i'm genuinely impressed, Christina Ricci introduced the dead pan iteration of Wednesday and for years it didn't seem like anyone could sell the character in that way as well as her again, but Jena is doing it quite splendidly here.

Yeah also when the thing is like sitting and two fingers are swinging like children when they swing their feet 😍😂. I also like when the thing jumps from the boat in the water, he does a little pause before jumping 😅 It is just too cute.
Then there is the firecrackers scene where the thing goes hiding after lighting the firecrackers. The way he quickly runs to hide and the sounds like feet running is just too wholesome and cute 🥰.
In every scene where there is the thing, it is just too funny and cute. I also like when he wears the little black hat for Wednesday's birthday 😅🤣🤣.

Jenna Ortega was born to play Wednesday. Can't wait to see season 2. In it, she needs to be in more fights, particularly against that villain, Laurel Gates. I have a feeling this isn't over between them. If they meet again, this time, only one of them will walk away.

Jenna looks absolutely amazing with this character. Can't wait to see what else she does with Wednesday's persona. But I'm also excited to see Christina Ricci again. Burton said that she will be playing a proper character, not just some throwaway character. Honestly excited to see who'll she'll be.
Usually, I hate nostalgia casting, but this one is special to me. Christina was my only childhood crush when I was younger, and I watched "Addams Family Values" constantly because of that, as well as some other things she starred in. The fact that she agreed to do this, and actually praises Jenna's effort is all the more exciting.

Thing is my favorite character in this series. That's why Wednesday cannot afford to lose him. She couldnt hide her emotion when thing got stabbed and almost gone.
That background song is a great touch, really sets a special kind of mood that contrasts nicely with what's happening.

While i agree with your opinion, i dont know the kind of character she's had in the original comic strips.
If the character of Wednesday was closer to the 90's movies and this show, then it is as it is.
If on the other hand, the character was closer to the 60's show, then it is a pity because i really loved that cozy and secure environment the whole family had. No "trying too hard to appear edgy" or whatever this show will try to do with a teenage Wednesday.
Wish they could bring back the addams family and make it like the 60's version.

@@kalig.4982 how much I wish we see a show where the children adore their parents... unfortunately we grew up (and continue to grow) in a society that promotes equal hate between children and parents.
Never related to the movies/series where they portray children as ungrateful hateful little brats. Always thought that it was because of the fact writers dont know how to write realistic teenagers (not that there are not parents that deserve the hate they get from their children... but why show only 1 side of fhe coin?).
But i guess that's what we gonna get here too. An "edgy" and "relatable" teenager that cant stand her parents (wow... colour me surprised...).
Not that the addams parents are any better in here too.
In the 60's show they were a kindhearted, naive, cheerfully macabre couple in love with each other and with their children. Now i guess they gonna make them "edgy" and "weird" too...
The funny thing is: The addams family was supposed to be the total opposite of your average american middle class family.
So if you got the always nagging wife, the absent/tired father of his work and family, and two little children who resent their parents
Then the 60's version of the addams family was the truly radical and against the social norms family.
I suppose nowadays version is your typical american middle class family but with a different package... truly a shame.

OMG yes, I always loved Thing and the fact "He" can use sign language to communicate with the family. I also need a Thing plushie and need a Thing TV series, with origins and all.

Not encouraged by the departure from the strong, trusting family ties in the original. Previously Wednesday would never have characterized her parents as "evil puppeteers" unless she meant it as a compliment. A key theme of the TV series and the previous movies was that, weird as they all might be, the Addams share strong family bonds of love and trust.

I'm on the fence about this series. The fake and perky outside world shouldn't be removed when the whole point of The Addams Family is how the family contrasts with normal people. That being said, I really appreciated this clarification of what Thing actually is.

I’ve always found, throughout the many adaptations of The Adams Family, for Thing to be adorable and literally one of the most logical thinkers.
