I always saved up my caps in the beginning of the game and blew it on That Gun as soon as I got to Novac after getting the discount from Jeannie May, it was just so cool plus it could fire armor piercing rounds as well which other pistols couldn't do. That Gun and Ratslayer got me through most of the game.
Now i can only picture the Arizona Ranger as this Blade Runner bounty hunter, hunting down Texas Red, the rogue synth, hunted for 20 murders throughout the space colonies
The way I always viewed Cash's version as being different from Robbins' is that Robbin's version sounds like it's about a young gunslinger who is about to make a name for himself in the world and be a hero by killing Texas Red. Cash's version sounds like the story of an old gunslinger preparing for his final Mexican standoff with the young gang. Essentially Cash's version is what, if it was a movie, would be playing right before the protagonist goes out to die in a (Spoiler for a game that is 12 years old) John Marsten style fashion while Robbin's version would play towards the beginning.
This hits different. I can imagine this taking place in some neon-lit city. Texas Red and the Rangers' showdown takes place in a dark alleyway outside a hidden bar... and people watching from the small windows above.
I honestly just want to talk about how fast this ranger was, and with a large pistol too. Texas Red had out drawn 20 men, and the ranger pops him before he freaking clears the gun from his holster.
I like to imagine the ranger pioneered the shoot-through-hole-in-spinning-holster technique, which is the other half of what brought him fame along with slaying Texas Red
god i know i wont be alive by the time cowboy bebop becomes real, but i can hope my children, or my children's children can enjoy it, see ya space cowboy

This is really good, and honestly I wasn't expecting it to be. I thought it would sound forced as I didn't think a song like Big Iron could be paired with synth music at all. Oil and water. Proved me wrong.
This is a classic gunfighter ballad written and first performed by Marty Robbins .. most ppl are unaware there were two endings. In this Johnny Cash cover the Ranger beats Texas Red to the draw and leaves him dead in the street. In the other version I heard on my car radio at about 3:00 am one morning driving from Sydney to Brisbane about 40 yrs ago, TR won the duel and the Ranger was the one for Boot Hill.
Early in the 21st century, the Tyrell corporation advanced Robot evolution into the Nexus phase - a being virtually identical to a human - known as a Replicant. The Nexus 6 replicants were superior in strength and agility, and at least equal in intelligence, to the genetic engineers who created them. Replicants were used off-world as slave labor, in the hazardous exploration and colonization of other planets. After a bloody mutiny by a Nexus 6 combat team in an off-world colony, replicants were declared illegal on earth - under penalty of death. Special police squads - Blade Runner Units - had orders to shoot to kill, upon detection, any trespassing replicant. This was not called execution. It was called retirement.
I mean it's an awesome track to walk around Mojave with your trusty railgun. The only thing, I feel like the voice is too silent compared to the melody. Maybe it's just me, who fancied the original because of Jonny's voice. But, overall, it's damn awesome.
