Hi marco, finally exo reaction that I was late to watch 😅 Fun fact, Yoo Jae Suk is not an idol, he is a senior comedian and MC/host in lots of shows/variety shows in South Korea. But he's once done a performance stage on EXO concert in Thailand back in 2016. Together with EXO, they performed "Dancing King" as jae suk accepted a challenge from his fellow host in variety show called "infinite challenge". So yeah, he took a part of singing and dancing in the performance, with times of practises before and he id well. So he's not an idol but he done it once with EXO 😁 And the actor from the box is Jo Dal Wan, he played as Chanyeol manager in the story. The box is Chanyeol first movie as a main role, it's a good movie. It has a good story line and background story. I see that you have interest on kdrama and movie, I don't know if you would cry seeing it, but I did, it's a movie with a deep story...that's why.

You’re right about rapping not being as easy as some people might think it is, but I don’t think that’s what Chanyeol was talking about. In Korea as you know, a member in a group is assigned a role. In the minds of the company I honestly do think they don’t take rap that seriously. Different companies are different though. YG is very rap based but SM is known for its vocals. People who couldn’t sing that well were normally made rappers. However, as generations passed, kpop has evolved, & rappers have had a more important role, & they’re more talented. In the Korean hip hop world, artists would criticize rappers in kpop & they wouldn’t really consider them “real rappers”. If a Korean hip hop rapper called you a “kpop rapper” it was kind of derogatory. They don’t take them very seriously. I personally think this is a valid way to feel but ultimately now more than ever there are rappers in kpop who are actually passionate about rap, & are good at it. The opinion on kpop rappers has shifted what with artists like Bobby from iKON winning a Korean rap competitive reality TV show called Show Me The Money. Korean hip hop artists now respect rappers in kpop & a lot of them have collaborated with kpop artists In any case this separation is probably what Chanyeol was talking about. Rappers in kpop often have more to prove since back in the day, rappers weren’t necessarily casted for their rap abilities, & I think the same applies to Chanyeol as well. He said in that video that he wanted to sing but was made a rapper. I think he takes both seriously though

But as for idols turning into hosts, the most prominent example that comes to mind is heechul from superjunior. I can even say he is more successful and probably earned more money from hosting than being an idol. Actually most of super junior members are turing into successful hosts especially heechul, leeteuk, donghae and eunhyuk.
I think what Chanyeol meant by "a rapper who can't sing" is more of singing as a vocalist. I mean there are only few rappers who can really sing well and actually belt a high note. Of course rapping should also have a flow and one has to have an amount of swag. And technique in breathing just like singing. Not anyboby can rap well and not just talk fast and make noise, but just the same with singing... bec in kpop most commonly rappers mostly just rap and sing just a little. Hey Marco, Chanyeol is like bet as a solo artist & an member of EXO!! He can rap the best and I don't know how he does it that fast as he is singing!!! Those two positions for Chanyeol are just perfect!!! EXO-SC is just amazing definately with the two main rappers of EXO!!! Toben is just adorable and I'm surprised that Toben doesn't listen to Chanyeol at all lol. I definately have to check out the other dramas/ movies he acted in besides EXO Next Door because I know that he is an amazing actor!! Chanyeol's OST's are just amazing!! the box is musical movie that chanyeol played as a main. despite being released in the time of the pandemic, it has very good success as a low-budget movie. also it has ost album which have some hit songs(bad guy, happy, a sky full of star, without you etc..) rearranged at chanyeol's own music studio by him and his music team. u should listen ost album, also should watch the box for sure. like u said his versatile is just mind-blowing.. after all he is real musician.. all I need is only him, love him so much with my all ♡ thank u

Fun fact, Yoo Jae Suk is not an idol, he is a senior comedian and MC/host in lots of shows/variety shows in South Korea. But he's once done a performance stage on EXO concert in Thailand back in 2016. Together with EXO, they performed "Dancing King" as jae suk accepted a challenge from his fellow host in variety show called "infinite challenge". So yeah, he took a part of singing and dancing in the performance, with times of practises before and he id well. So he's not an idol but he done it once with EXO 😁
And the actor from the box is Jo Dal Wan, he played as Chanyeol manager in the story. The box is Chanyeol first movie as a main role, it's a good movie. It has a good story line and background story. I see that you have interest on kdrama and movie, I don't know if you would cry seeing it, but I did, it's a movie with a deep story...that's why.

You’re right about rapping not being as easy as some people might think it is, but I don’t think that’s what Chanyeol was talking about.
In Korea as you know, a member in a group is assigned a role. In the minds of the company I honestly do think they don’t take rap that seriously. Different companies are different though. YG is very rap based but SM is known for its vocals. People who couldn’t sing that well were normally made rappers. However, as generations passed, kpop has evolved, & rappers have had a more important role, & they’re more talented.
In the Korean hip hop world, artists would criticize rappers in kpop & they wouldn’t really consider them “real rappers”. If a Korean hip hop rapper called you a “kpop rapper” it was kind of derogatory. They don’t take them very seriously. I personally think this is a valid way to feel but ultimately now more than ever there are rappers in kpop who are actually passionate about rap, & are good at it. The opinion on kpop rappers has shifted what with artists like Bobby from iKON winning a Korean rap competitive reality TV show called Show Me The Money. Korean hip hop artists now respect rappers in kpop & a lot of them have collaborated with kpop artists
In any case this separation is probably what Chanyeol was talking about. Rappers in kpop often have more to prove since back in the day, rappers weren’t necessarily casted for their rap abilities, & I think the same applies to Chanyeol as well. He said in that video that he wanted to sing but was made a rapper. I think he takes both seriously though

But as for idols turning into hosts, the most prominent example that comes to mind is heechul from superjunior. I think what Chanyeol meant by "a rapper who can't sing" is more of singing as a vocalist. I mean there are only few rappers who can really sing well and actually belt a high note. Of course rapping should also have a flow and one has to have an amount of swag. And technique in breathing just like singing. Not anyboby can rap well and not just talk fast and make noise, but just the same with singing... bec in kpop most commonly rappers mostly just rap and sing just a little. Vocalists do the singing of course. But chanyeol signed up with intentions to sing but he was trained to rap maybe bec of his very deep voice. So he is just saying that he didnt become a rapper bec he can't be a vocalist. Clearly he can.
